My mom’s cousin had an oops third baby after her tubal ligation. Then she had twins!
My cousin’s wife lost two of their triplets in utero last year, no fertility treatments.

Not in my family but I have friends that have twins. One was a set of identical males. I asked their Mom how yo tell them apart. She told me not to share with them but it was the way their hair was at the back of their head. One at the beginning of the alphabet had hair parting one way and the other one parted another way. They were so impressed that I could tell them apart. Another set of twins were girls. They were not identical. One was born before mid nite and one was born after mid nite.

We are all under the assumption that my mom was a twin. My grandmother lost "something" and thought she was not pregnant anymore. And then found out she was still pregnant. We will never know for sure though.

My daughters are identical twins. I have 3 siblings and none of them had multiples.
I have very limited knowledge of my ancestors but I do know my maternal great grandmother had 13 children. 10 were girls and none of them had multiples.

No, none that I’m aware of. I have 3 children, 8 grandchildren. I wished every time for twins.

I personally have B/G twins. On my fathers side of the family I have 2 sets of first cousin twins - identical girls and fraternal b/g twins. Then the boy cousin in the b/g twins had fraternal b/b twins.

I selected 3 boxes above:
identical triplets (my girls) identical twins (my mom and aunt) non-identical twins (my sister's boy/girl twins)
Mom miscarried her multiples, and we have several other sets in the family. The above 3 are just immediate family, and all were spontaneous pregnancies.

My mom is a twin, but unfortunately her twin passed away shortly after birth. My grandma didn’t know she was pregnant with twins until she delivered. A first cousin on the same side of the family had fraternal twins. I will admit I was nervous when I was pregnant that it could be twins due to our family history but we just ended up with the one .

I have a set of fraternal girl-girl twins.
My dad's brothers are twins, and on my mother's side, a set of twins has been born every other generation of my maternal line going back at least 150 years.

I find it fascinating that singletons and fraternal twins are nearly neck and neck at the moment with identical twins almost half fraternal. Lots of families with lots of multiples too!

Twins don’t even bother skipping a generation in my mom’s family—they are everywhere!
We have had triplets, too, but obviously not as often as twins.
On of my great aunts had two sets of twins and a set of triplets. 😮

I do remember seeing in the Topsfield (MA) vital records while searching for DH's ancestors that Benjamin and Susannah Towne had triplet boys -Edmond, Elijah, and Ezra - in 1736. Elijah died in 1814 and it was noted he was "one of three brothers born at a birth, all of whom lived to an advanced age"
Quite an accomplishment back then.

None in our families until 2 months ago when my niece (well, technically my DH's niece...his sister's daughter) had identical twin boys. They are the sweetest little things!!! We adore them!. 😍 The best part is that my niece and her ex-DH had tried to conceive for a long while but were told niece was the issue, and it would never happen for her. She met an amazing guy about a year after her divorce and then not quite a year into their relationship she unexpectedly got pregnant with twins. It was such a happy surprise!

My nephew and his wife have 7-year-old boy/girl twins. They are so much fun! They had trouble conceiving and were the only hope for the next generation so we were all so excited and happy when they were born. They announced it to the family by sharing the video of the ultrasound. The doctor is pointing to the baby and then you can hear my niece in law point to something else and ask what’s that and the doctor responds that’s another baby. And she gasps. It’s so cute and makes me tear up every time I see it.
They are the only multiples in our family for many generations.
ETA: They were conceived by IVF.

And boy/girl twins born to another cousin. I also have several relatives who miscarried twins. My dad's sister had twins boy/girl.

DH's grandfather was a twin, and my dad had siblings who were twins, though one passed on at a young age.
None in my immediate family.
When I was teaching preschool, one year we had 3 sets of twins, two of which were identical. That was fun!

I went to a very small elementary school, like 15 students per grade, and we had three sets of twins in the 3-5th grade. They were all identical, two boys and four girls. They were loads of fun!

Yes, lots of families with multiples. When I kept the contact list for our Austin Mother's of Higher Order Multiples (triplets or more), we had 60+ families with AT LEAST triplets just in that area!

My DDs are identical twins. Their paternal grandmother is a fraternal twin and I have fraternal twin cousins on my side of the family. DDs also have a set of fraternal twin cousins on their dad’s side of the family. None of these sets were the result of help with infertility.
In DDs small graduating class from high school of about 120, there were nine sets of twins! I can’t remember now if there were any others who were identical or not.

I was pregnant with twins with my youngest child. Ultrasound at 9 weeks showed two heartbeats. We were shocked and excited. Ultrasound at 14 weeks showed only one and I had that child. Doctor suspects the second heartbeat was non-viable and my body absorbed it. Dr said it had probably happened a lot before ultrasound became available.

My maternal grandfather was a twin. Sadly, his twin died at birth (this would have been in the late 1920s).
My youngest son had two sets of triplets in his grade level from grades 2nd - 5th. Both sets were two fraternal girls and one boy. It was fun to have so many sets of multiples in one grade!

My generation is the first generation in as far back as we can tell that has NOT had twins or triplets in it. No one from my generation has had multiples either. We have mostly twins, both identical and fraternal for at least 6 generations before mine. At least 2 sets of triplets. There may have been twins that were triplets though. Some parents had multiple sets of multiples.
I was just listening to a podcast about Lucille Ball. Apparently her grandmother was a twin and had 4 sets of twin siblings. So Lucille's great grandmother had 5 sets of twins.

I have brothers who are twins but otherwise there aren’t any other twins in my very large extended family. I don’t have any friends run multiples, either. This is my story as well^^^ my niece had twin boys who unfortunately had twin-to-twin and whilst both were live births both passed away as they were only at 26 weeks and many issues.
