My dh and I spent 3-4 hours this morning cleaning and helping the kids go through their stuff. I had to clean out the girls' closet in order to make enough room for new clothes. That's practically all they asked for this year so they got a lot. LOL
After that, I took a shower and have been fiddle farting around. Doing laundry, cleaned my bedroom, ran to the grocery store. Now it's almost time to fix an easy dinner and then veg for the rest of the evening.

We are traveling back home. Santa comes to our house tonight! Yay!
We're hoping to just throw our stuff in a pile when we get home, put on jammies, watch a Christmas movie and go to bed. I'll deal with the rest later.

I put up my decorations the day after Thanksgiving, so yea, I'm ready for them to come down. But we don't celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. Just the one . Mine go up that weekend, too. It takes me all 3 days (and into the following week, usually) to decorate my house, that I feel like I just put them up and can't bear the thought of having to take them down 'already', lol. Back to being lazy today . . . I really don't feel like getting out of my snuggly bed to walk all the way downstairs to get the truffles my husband put in my stocking. How horrible would it be to intercom my son who's down there and have him bring them to me, lol?

I started out cleaning my sock drawer because I got new socks and wanted to sort through the old ones before putting the new ones away. Then I proceeded to clean out my closet. I was so happy with what I accomplished. I hope I can keep up the momentum and get my house in some semblance of order by spring. I then ran errands and visited my mom this afternoon. Put her gifts away and tidied up the house after we messed it up yesterday. Now I'm peaing.

We made the 10 hour trip home today from my side of the family. Tomorrow at 8 a.m., some of DH side is going to be at our house for a couple days. I just want to watch movies and relax but I am sure we will be out and about the rest of the weekend.

I picked some wrapping paper and gift boxes up off the floor (I didn't do all of I yesterday.) Ate a little and napped a lot. I did not shower or get out of my pajamas. Don't judge.

What I wanted to do: bake the gingerbread cookie dough I made on Christmas Eve into the parts for a gingerbread house and assemble/decorate it with DD. Clean up the mess in the kitchen from yesterday.
What we actually did: DH ended up having to work. DD and I went to not one, not two, but THREE Target stores looking for the Elsa and Anna two pack of characters for Disney Infinity that she was hoping her dad would buy me for Christmas (so she could play it!) but didn't. Had to stop at Mickey D's for lunch in between because my 1/2 hour errand stretched into a two hour ordeal. Then once we got home with it, we HAD to play it even though we don't really know how to play it yet and are just learning the ropes. Then I cleaned up my messy kitchen. So at least I got something accomplished!

Took down all decorations, but tree is still up. Found a leak behind the wall in laundry room so now we have a hole that has to be patched. Went to mall, Target, Blaze Pizza and came home to be a lazy bum. Now I'm playing escape games on my iPad and watching ID channel.

Early morning Boxing Day shopping with a friend. We got to the mall at 8:00 a.m., and got out in time to be at a restaurant for lunch by 11:30. Then after lunch we popped into one more store & after that I went home to change. My friend headed back home to Victoria and I went over to my parents` house for their annual Boxing Day gathering.

Also - my granddad was Orthodox Catholic / Serbian. So when he was allive we always had a second Christmas on January 6th (or 7th, I`m too tired to do the math). While we don`t do anything formal anymore, I still keep my decorations up until the weekened after the 6th/7th if I can swing it. I need help taking it all down and putting it away, so this year, if it`s easier for the family members who help me to do it on January 3/4, prior to going back to school, that is what we shall do.

DH and I took a trip to a local tender disposals warehouse, where they have random items of furniture REALLY cheap. We got three different bits of couches for $90 and shoved them together to make a piece of furniture large enough for four people, random visiting teenagers and assorted animals to sit on. It's part chaise lounge, part sofa bed (complete with mattress), part love seat, and 100% comfortable. Plus, for $90 the care factor is practically nil. Considering the clumsy factor in this house, that's a total bonus. The boys love it and have christened it Frankencouch.

Christmas decs aren't put away here until Twelfth Night/Epiphany/6th January so just tidying up a little and having a quiet day then having friends around tonight for Christmas drinks and snacks. Not going out to the sales because it's very frosty here with a threat of snow....and anyway, I've already got what I wanted online!

We were toying with going to the beach today, but I decided I should probably do something about my house instead. My friend is not at all happy with me. LOL Have fun!!

Trying to rest, really over did it cleaning on the 24th (I'm 35 weeks pregnant) then ds wouldn't go to sleep until 1, so Santa was up until 3. Spent Christmas in an exhausted haze because ds refused to nap. He fell asleep exhausted at 7 so we all decided to go to bed but he woke up at 10:30 ready to party and stayed up till midnight. Yesterday was a bit better, we played with our new bounce house and we got a nap in but had to go visit with the inlaws and I was exhausted. Friends came over to help us with the crib etc but I had to clean up the mess that Christmas made and was pretty tired, so I'm lying down surfing the net while ds naps.

The annoying cough on Christmas Eve has turned into the full-blown flu so my house is down for the count. Unfortunately, we hosted Christmas so now my parents and sister have also been exposed. Ugh - not fun!
