I think you could dress it up. I have a long blue skirt, almost the same color as that blue cardigan. I need that to go with it. I like the flow of the bottom if it had elastic or something then it would look old fashion.

Cardigans are "in" right now I think. My almost 14yo DD wears them. She's more up in fashion then I am. I wear them and have for years but I font typically follow the trends. I usually need a sweater in the Fall and Spring so I have a cardigan type sweater, mine are usually heavier than those posted though. DD likes the thinner ones.

I'm almost 68 and "old lady" to me is pull-on elastic waist polyester pants and a floral button up blouse. When I'm out shopping with my daughters I frequently find myself rejecting clothes because they look too grandma-ish! I don't shop in juniors, of course, but I hate what is generally offered for older, heavier, adult women. I may have gray hair and wrinkles but I don't want to dress like a frump! And, I like those sweaters, but that style doesn't like me. Darn.

I'm not a fan of the fabric they're made from - rayon/spandex. If they were actually knit sweaters made from soft yarn, they'd be more appealing to me. Now see, if they were made from yarn instead if the fabric they are, then they would scream old lady. I agree with this. I expected to to open the link and find a granny sweater in a knit. The ones shown are not "old lady" to me. Like others have mentioned, I'd prefer them to be a bit longer but if you don't need to hide your butt, they're fine.

Like others have said, it's all in how you put them together. I wouldn't go for rayon myself, but I have some similar cotton/spandex sweaters and they are great for traveling--lightweight, don't wrinkle, good for layering.

I like the style and would buy them if they were cotton or wool. I think the rayon fabric says old lady not the style.

I have several cardigans that style and they don't look "old lady". However, I'm not a fan of that material in the link you shared.

I don't think so. Clothing can look old lady/frumpy or not, depending on how you wear it--what you pair it with and attitude.
