Well sure she can. And so can you. And just like the majority of society looks at the pricks in the Westboro Baptist Church with scorn and disdain and just like most thoughtful, rational people think the racist assholes in the Ku Klux Klan are racist assholes, other people here can say that her opinion is a bigoted, hateful waste of brain cells. See how that works?

Semantics again! I hate that. What you said was horrible but I'd have a lot more respect for someone who stood behind their comments. You worded what you said so strongly yet your conviction is clearly anything but. I bet there is some bible verse about that damning you for backtracking. I'm not backing down, I'm responding to attacks on my words and sharing with you my thought process in selecting them. If you would like to read a Bible and search for such a verse, then I think that would be wonderful. In all sincerity, I am a fan of Bible reading. So-I remember the kids had a memory verse one week. Chosen specifically because as a bunch of tweens they were acting all judgey mcjudgerton about a couple of their classmates who were being perceived as "less than" in some way. They all got to learn about the difference in God's love and forgiveness and self-righteous judgement. This was the verse that week. Matthew 7:1-2 Jesus says, “Judge not, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” Don't assume that we don't all read the Bible please. We just have learned different lessons.

That's the only way you could know the super secret kitten heels/coconut oil/uncrustable/twinkie manifest. That information comes with a super low $19.99 price, I accept paypal. I will send you pm with my account info, or if anyone else wants to help send my child to prom, I will just post the info for public purview. Only other thing I have to offer... and it's for free. I really wish stupidity hurt.

I think the difference between this board and the old 2peas is that everyone despite their religions stood together to say that nasty, hateful statements won't be tolerated. The Bruce Jenner thread isn't just about BJ; it's also about other people and their loved ones who are struggling with their self identities.
Jesus clearly tells his followers that the way to show that they are Christians is to love the Lord their God with all their hearts, all their minds, and all their souls. Then to love their "neighbors"--ie all other people as much as they love themselves.
Wow. Jesus expects a lot from His people. I'm to love and care for every other human the way I love myself. I am constantly asking the Lord for forgiveness for my sins, for mercy, for Him to make me more like Him.
I recently watched some YouTube videos of people that have had near death experiences. The stories of those that saw hell are the scariest, most heart rending, horrific descriptions of a place that I believe exists.
It really makes me sad how often I and other Christians talk about the worst place in the universe so flippantly. I don't want any person, no matter how bad they've been to actually go to hell. To be cut off from God, other people, and any good thing, for all of eternity.
We Christians should be much better ambassadors, and it really makes me angry when I or other Christians judge people and flippantly say that person is going to hell. Whether the person goes to hell or not is NOT for me to judge. Only GOD can judge our hearts. God doesn't want any person to go to hell, and He provides overwhelming mercy to every person.
This is why I can't sit idly by and let hateful comments by other people who call themselves Christians slip by. God also commands his believers to speak the truth in love. Otherwise, our voices sound like a cacophony of noise that no one understands. We're doing our Lord a great disservice.
I am happy to be a part of such a great group of women who for the most part respect each other despite our different beliefs.

Really, a whole thread? Talk about bullying, hatefulness, and intolerance. It's sad to see people like Bruce Jenner. It's also sad to see people suffering from illness, whether mental or physical. It's sad to see people engage in behavior that is harmful, either to themselves or others, without any realization or recognition that they are doing so. It's also sad to see people who can't have an intelligent, rational discussion without personal attacks and name calling. And I agree with you. I missed the Jenner thread - have been busy elsewhere lately.
yep, the bullies, hatefulness and intolerance will now abound toward you. Nothing new here... Maybe more tomorrow, it's late, I'm tired and so are my fingers...

It's interesting to see people so outraged by judgmental, close minded and hateful people that they in turn choose to be judgmental, close minded and hateful.

I doubt she skipped over that part. Did you? It doesn't say anything about loving their sin, supporting it or encouraging it.

Where does it say we are to judge others' sins?
