My IG and FB feeds seem to be filled with casual acquaintances who are participating in this 21 Day Fix. The pictures that have been posted are compelling...I feel the need to do something about the stubborn extra 10 pounds that menopause has laid on my body. But what exactly is the 21 Day Fix? Is it a diet, exercise regime, what? I see pictures of little colored containers...so a restrictive diet? But also, I am seeing a lot of "ask me about 21 Day Fix..." postings...is this a pyramid scheme thing? I am so not interested in becoming anyone's "coach." Anyone have experience with this?

It comes with colored containers so you know the serving size for protein, fruit, carbs, etc so you don't have to count calories and there's some workout dvds. link

You don't have to be anyone's coach, nor do you have to order it from Beachbody. I ordered mine from Amazon. It's a workout DVD and it comes with these plastic containers. It tells you how to do the math, and you figure out how many calories you're allowed for the day, and then it tells you how many of each container you get. I'm on the 1,200 calorie plan, and get four reds (protein), three greens (vegetables), two purple (fruit), two yellow (carbs) and then one orange and one blue (fats and something else...). I've lost about six pounds since I've started doing it, and I haven't been super-strict about it, nor have I done the DVD consistently. I run daily, but was holding onto about 15 pounds I gained over the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays. I just needed to reset my expectations of what correct portion sizes were. I did do the DVD workouts a couple of times and they are good. They're about 30 minutes long, so not as long as the P90x DVDs. The whole coach thing happens if you go through Beachbody and if you become a "coach," then the MLM stuff starts happening. But you do not have to become a coach. They haven't pestered me about it at all.

If you're on pinterest, there are several pins on how to make your own 21 day fix containers (eg. Use the containers you already own or can purchase locally at less expense) as well as recipes.
Pretzels explanation is good. I think blue is healthy fats (cheese, nuts, avocado) and orange is seeds, dressings, and oils.

You can call the 800 number on the commercials to just get the containers.

Every time one of these threads pops up I have to weigh in...I feel like I'm doing a commercial But I promise I'm not, I just am very happy with my results! I've just completed 4 rounds and am about to start the Extreme Fix, which is the new one with new dvds. I have hypothyroidism and it takes a very concentrated effort on my part to keep fit, but I'm down 20 lbs so far and about 2lbs to goal It is MLM but it's not a hard sell at all in my experience. You don't have to be a coach and you don't have to get locked into anything. Even if you buy a challenge pack and get shakeology shakes on auto-ship, it's very easy to cancel when you're ready. I just recently became a coach, but only for the discount on shakeology. I don't have any clients and don't plan on it. I'm happy to leave that to others As I've said numerous times on these threads, it's the private fb groups and my coach that have kept me accountable and helped me succeed. I could get the containers and do the dvds but having a group for support really makes me think about what I eat and gets me in front of that tv for my workouts, every single day. I haven't been this strong in ages. The shakeology is a bit pricey and gimmicky (some of the beach body folks act like it's a cure-all) but I also have to say it's helped tons with any cravings for sweets, so I still get it. Lots of nutrition in it and the chocolate flavour is tasty. The containers are not necessary other than to teach you portion control AND how to eat clean/whole foods for maximum health (you get limited starches, for example).

I'm on my 3rd round and have lost 20 pounds since December 1st. (Like Z*G I have hypothyroidism and always struggle getting rid of weight.)
I do a 30 minute workout every day for 21 days and follow the eating plan. (which is really just about portion control and eating fairly clean.)
I've taken 1+ weeks off after each round and done eaten whatever/not exercised and then jumped back in. I also took yesterday off because it was my birthday.
I was struggling with MFP and counting calories, because I was all about the number and still eating processed crap and lots of sodium...and always hungry.
I have never purchased a single shakeology product. It's too expensive for me. I do buy a protien whey powder shake at Walmart for about $19 a month vs. the $140 a month for shakeology.
I'm also in a FB group where everyone is really supportive.

First week and I've lost 3 pounds. Much easier than any other eating plan I've tried because I don't have to guess how much of each food I should be eating. The color coded containers were brilliant. Give it a try.

It's a workout/diet program based on easy to use portion control containers and 30 minutes workouts. A lot of people are claiming this program works. Haven't tried it yet!

All it is is portion control and food exchanges... But I like it because it helps me plan great healthy meals every day.
I eat as many green as I want, I don't limit it to the four I "should" get each day. I did not get fat by eating vegetables in any quantity.
I think shakeology is nasty nasty nasty. I tried the sample packs and they were awful. So I found a good shake mix I like better.

I bought the containers a few months ago but have never used them. For some reason, I feel like they are more trouble than they are worth. It doesn't seem so bad if I was eating separate things all day but it seems more challenging when I'm putting meals together. I feel like it would be easier to just count calories. For those of you that have done the 21 Day Fix, what do you think? Also, what kind of success have you had with it?

I bought the containers months ago and just joined a group. I dusted off the containers and have jumped in for the 1st time this week. We shall see how it goes.
I have realized quite a bit. I've used my containers with what I normally eat and I don't eat enough food!!!! I don't drink near enough water!!! Its been an eye opener for me.

Just curious but does the 21 day fix give you dinner recipes? Do you put what you’re going to eat for each meal in the containers or are they only for snacks?

And charlenaadloff before you. So strange... I'm pretty sure the Internet is loaded with information about how the 21 day fix works. Good luck!

No, you use the containers for each meal. You may get 4 blue ones or 3 green ones. You decide how you want to eat for the day.

What the hell is going on with the view vs. post numbers on this thread? And why was it bumped today?

Must be some BeachBody coaches hoping to drum up interest, lol.
I love the Fix but I don't love people coming here just to promote things.
