Lose 6-8 lbs and tone up in 60 days? While you are at a desk job 9 hours a day?
ETA- ok I'll clarify. I'm 40. I've always been thin most of my life. Until about 2 years ago I never had to worry about what I ate. I was always comfortable about 105 lbs. Now I'm about 117 and I'm unhappy and uncomfortable. It's mostly around my gut and upper legs. I know I don't eat right and need to change that. Will need to make time for some exercise. Just need the will power to want the change!

Yes, by eating right and exercising.

Absolutely! Really focus on food choices and heathy eating, especially if you can't work in a lot of exercise. Then for toning focus on multi-joint weight training as a way to get the most out of your workout time.

10+ years ago? Absolutely? Now? The weight loss *might* be possible by counting every calorie and drinking at least 70oz water/day. Losing weight is far more difficult at this age. Toning up? Likely a lot longer. I've been with a personal trainer 2x+ /week for over two years now, and am still not as toned as I would like. I'm more fit than I've ever been in my life, but still have room for improvement.

I have a desk job. I lost weight just by not eating bread at home (I do eat bread if we're at a restaurant, but not the whole basket). I also walk 3-4 miles everyday during lunch and I cut my food portions down.
I think the toned part would depend on what you look like now and how defined you want to be. I will never get my legs/thighs/butt toned because of my body composition and genetics, but my shoulders and arms look pretty good.

uh maybe if I drank no coke, quite cold turkey again and did sit ups every day and just drank water. But I think I would suffer...It would not be pleasant.
ETA:- I don't have a desk job though...

Eating breakfast and lunch are the easiest part of my day. The problem occurs when I come home and have to cook dinner, or go out with friends and drink wine. Every week I easily plan my breakfasts, lunches and snacks. On Sundays I make my lunch for the whole week and put it into separate containers so I can easily grab one each morning. So for lunch I'm always eating portioned healthy meals.
For the month of March I signed up for a new student special at my local barre studio. So to get the most of my money I've been going almost every day after work.

I'm another oldie and have finally conceded that it is far more important to watch what I eat way more now than when I was in my 30's. And I am not happy about it. Anyway, I have just finished phase one of the New Rules of Lifting For Women and I have noticed I am seeing an improvement in my muscle tone. I am pretty sure that if I stopped eating Easter Cream Eggs and Eggies I might see a lot more improvement...
ETA: I just reread my post and I want to clarify that I don't think the OP is old, I was just agreeing with the posters who said it was easier before they hit 45 or so!!!

Depends on your starting weight. It's just a math equation.

Of course, if you watch your calories and work out every day. Has nothing to do with having a desk job, has everything to do with how much effort you're willing to put into it.

(Converting pounds to kilos..........) That's only about 3 and a bit kg, so absolutely it would be possible. If you restricted your calorie intake to 1200 cal per day, and exercise for half an hour 3 or more times a week, you could probably do it in 30 days.
Even easier if you bought one of those treadmill workstations!

Sure...with the name of a really good plastic surgeon and 58 days for recovery. Twenty years ago, absolutely. Now? It would take an enormous amount of discipline and work. It would be doable, but I would have to be incredibly dedicated and I am certain that I would be the biggest pain in the ass to be around while I was doing it.

I did that a few years back by cutting my calories and doing mild exercise. It wasn't very difficult at all to accomplish in 60 days.

If I paid attention to what I am eating and made myself move I could lose that much. I don't know how much toning I accomplish but I imagine 8 weeks of working out would make at least a little improvement. i would have to commit to that time to workout.

The old saying is loose in the kitchen and gain in the gym... 8lbs over two months is 1lb a week... You'd need to cut 3500 calories a week, or 500 calories a day... You can cut them by eating differently, working out, or a combination...
Certain foods tend to contribute to a less lean look - a softer or bloated feeling/appearance... Avoid those, and that will help as well...
Cardio will help burn calories, weights will help tone muscle... Toning will make you more lean, and more efficient - your body will burn more calories throughout the day if you have more muscle... Muscle is more sense than fat, so you will look smaller even if the scale number happens to stay the same...
Working larger muscles and your core will give you the biggest results... Bigger the muscle the more reaction you'll get from your body, but also those major muscles support and hold up your body... You'll look more toned because your posture and alignment will be better...
As far as doing all that while working, it's possible... It's not the nine hours of work that's going to have the biggest effect - it's going to be how you spend the other 15 hours of the day... Prolonged sitting is bad for your health... Try standing and working, sit on a stability ball, go for a five minute walk each hour, park farther away, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc...
If you don't have a lot of time to work out, focus on cutting those 3500 calories a week by eliminating them from your diet... Then focus your exercise on toning...

I lost 14lbs (just hit my goal weight this morning) since January and I'm an accountant in her mid-40s.
Eating at a deficit (losing fat) works at cross purposes to toning (gaining muscle). Cardio and/or dieting alone will have you losing both fat and muscle but if you add heavy compound lifting (squats, deadlifts, bench press, etc) and a good level of dietary protein, you can maintain muscle, losing mostly fat, and possibly get some muscle gain that only seems to be gifted to new lifters.
ETA* NROL4W is an awesome weight program!

I used to be able to just "decide" to drop a few pounds and with just a little effort, accomplish it. But aging definitely changes that. I still have a better than average metabolism, but it gets harder to drop weight and maintain weight. Could I do the OP's scenario? Probably. Would it be a huge challenge? Absolutely.

I think you could do a decent job of working towards that goal in 60 days, likely even meet it! I started watching what I ate better and by now means would I say diet, just trying to make some better choices. At the same time I started walking/running on the treadmill. I quickly lost 10 lbs (within a few month, 2-3 maybe.) I was probably 20-30 lbs overweight. Sadly I had some knee issues (and got busy) and stopped running, stopped watching what I was eating and i've gained it all back (with a few extra ) I've just started eating better again (and lost a couple pounds) and need to get back to exercising! Editing to add: I'm 46 btw...so yes easy to gain weight and maybe more difficult to take off than at 25, but not impossible.

Yes, you definitely can. I'm 45, never been overweight, but there has been times I've been heavier than I wanted (felt uncomfortable in my own skin). Like you, I have a desk job, but, just going back to eating the right things all the time and 20 mins of exercise in a morning (nothing too exciting, I just run with one of my dogs) and the weight drops off me. If by toned do you mean will you look like something from a fitness magazine, the chances are no, but, just my quick run makes a difference.

21 Day Fix, two rounds, absolutely accomplishable! I'm 43, and I'm proof. My metabolism sucks (hypothyroid) and if I can do it you can, I have faith!

Someone share this 21 day fix? What is it? I'm not talking ripped like these models...just slightly firmer and more "In shape looking" I guess is the phrase. I use to run but have a bad back and cannot. I need to make a conscience effort to walk more!

Also, you probably already know someone who is a beach body coach, post on Facebook about it and I bet you'll be able to find a group! The private group support was invaluable to me to make the 21 Day Fix successful for me.

A female's BMR (the amount of calories needed for organs to function, and the amount of calories the hospital would be legally required to give you if you were flat on your back in a coma) is higher than that. Find out that number (google) and eat just above that on resting days and a bit more when you are working out. Never eat below your BMR or the rebound weight gain will be ridiculous once you start to eat normally again....which you will, because you will be starving, literally!
