What have you always thought? Or have you never considered it. I posted a picture of DS with the Easter Bunny on Facebook and noticed the bunny was wearing an apron. In other pictures the bunny is wearing a vest. So, which do you think?

I always think male, for some reason. Maybe it's the vest, like you said.

There are many different Easter Bunnies, some are male, some are female. Ours is named Early and he is a boy.

I think it is a male, but sometimes is a female. I'm more used to the German version, which is a brown rabbit, and only DELIVERS the baskets... eggs come from hens, candy from the candy makers (which in one children's book were illustrated to be rabbits, moles and badgers).

Well, I always picture the Easter Bunny as a male, but one of my favorite books from my childhood allows for female bunnies. ETA- @skellinton - great minds think alike!

Female rabbits are too busy birthing babies every other month to be running around giving out Easter eggs.
The Easter Bunny is definitely male.

Well, the consensus is male so I'm guessing the bunny in our picture is a cross-dresser. Not that there is anything wrong with that. <said in my best Seinfeld voice>

In our family there isn't one Easter Bunny like there is one Santa. Lots of bunnies; just Peter Cottontail is the famous one. So a girl bunny is totally plausable.

Agreed - Peter Cottontail implies male. And the Easter Beagle is male, too.

DH and i disagree. He says female because it brings eggs. A male would bring nuts.

I hadn't given it any thought until now, I guess I just always *knew* he was a boy bunny.
