We usually end up with all kinds of hazardous stuff that the sellers leave behind so it's up to us to dispose of. Although one seller did leave about 50 of those nice white tubular hangers. And then there was the hamster...became DS's first pet. But really folks, I hate when people leave their pets behind. cadoodlebug, Has your dh ever had to show a house with a snake for a pet? My dh did and there was a dead rabbit in the bathtub waiting to be it's dinner Obviously, these were renters and not the actual sellers living in the place

Find you some soft green moss, preferably some with little black spikes sticking out of it (seed pods) and dig up the top layer. Add that layer and some yogurt, preferably with old and with live cultures in it, in a jar and shake to mix. Dampen the gargoyle, then paint this on him. Keep him in the shade. Repeat every time you notice him. Eventually he will grow a coat of soft moss and will look like an garden feature. This also works on too new clay pots.

So, tuck him under the edge of the deck, out of sight, while he grows.
If you happen to forget he's there….well…
LOL

However, he has had to lay tile for a single-woman FHA buyer. They wouldn't approve her loan until all the work was done and she didn't have the money to hire one so DH spent a Saturday relaying tile in her dining room. All service Realtor for sure! Oh the stories I could tell! As I'm sure you can too ~ wait, you just did!!

They came back 2 months later to retrieve it and were outraged that we had sold the house and handed the chinchilla over to the Humane Society. leannec I can't decide whether I would embrace that creature and give him his own little hidden corner of the garden or pull him to the curb and stick a "free" sign on him. I kind of think he'd get nabbed pretty quickly at the curb.

My dh did and there was a dead rabbit in the bathtub waiting to be it's dinner Obviously, these were renters and not the actual sellers living in the place I know it's probably stupid in the grande scheme, but I walked out of a viewing b/c there were 2 huge snakes in the house. It may be irrational to most people, but my fear of them is overwhelming to me, and I couldn't make myself go look at the second story. There was 1 in each of the first 2 bedrooms, across from each other, on either side of a fairly narrow hall. Thankfully our Realtor seemed to understand how I felt, and we left. He hadn't thought it was "the house" for us , he had just wanted us to see a few features it had though. From then on it was dubbed the snake pit when we were comparing the main floor, garage and lawn areas that I saw. I was upset and embarrassed and sure that John (or Realtor) thought I was an ass and would drop us. He was just great about it. We did find our house, he was so helpful going through our first time. He definitely went above and beyond his required duties. I recommended him to every single person who mentioned buying, selling, or renting to me. ☺

Do you actually use your hot tub? We had one and never, ever used it. Well, that's not entirely true. We did use it say a couple of times a year one year, maybe. I hated testing the water, putting in the chemicals, etc. What a pain that was! We found an alligator lizard in it. He was very cute and he went into the garden. (He looked like a salamander but was a lizard as I googled him. I called the nature centre to see what to do with him as I did not want our dog nor a cat to get him). My son loved the hot tub. He did go in it occasionally.

He did go in it occasionally. We use it less than we used to My problem is that I like to read in there and since I got a non-waterproof e-reader that is no longer an option Dh says we can just go out and sit ... I need to get on board with that It always gets used when either of the dd's have a birthday or sleepover ... the girls and their friends love hanging out in there I'm not sure how they will feel about Ugly Dude presiding over them

Give it an eye mask, paint the toenails a pretty color, and let your DH know the gargoyle is just getting some spa treatments.

I think he's kinda cool... I'd be tempted to find him some little clothes to wear.
One of my work friends came across a taxidermy squirrel about 5 years ago at a yard sale. He bought the hideous thing and decided that he would bring it to work so it could be our department mascot. Over the years, his wife, along with another co-worker of ours who is a knitter, has made the ugly squirrel quite the wardrobe. He has outfits for the holidays and special events... It's really quite entertaining.
If the gargoyle has to be there, I say have fun with him!
