I'm casting another vote for the Anastasia brow powder duo. I will say, though, that I am generally just as happy with any powder which coordinates with my hair color (brunette) - so I've regularly dipped into my eye shadows to work on the brows, and I think it looks just the same as the Anastasia stuff. I do use a flat eyeliner brush (it's a mini) for the color instead of what comes with the Anastasia kit. I use the Anastasia brush just for the pompadour/wax application (which I only use sometimes, anyway). Recently, a friend complemented me on my "perfect" brows. I have very little eyebrow left due to thyroid disease. My best tip is that less is more, a little product goes a long way. This is so true! ETA - I am also a brunette with very fair skin. I use the Anastasia blonde set.

I like the Lorac pencil with the brush on one end. It comes in an auburn shade that works really well with my dark red hair. Anybody know of a brow powder that comes in a dark red or auburn shade? The only one I ever found was by NYX I believe, but it was a lighter and more orange shade than I need.

Tracy, the Anastasia one has 9 different colors, and each one has two shades in it, so you sort of mix as needed. I have two; med. brown (for when I color my hair darker), and caramel, for when I have more of a light auburn.

I have used powder, but I can't get it to look right, or it could be user error . I have used the Maybelline eyebrow pencils for years. I am blonde, and they have a good match for me in "Blonde" (go figure!) They are red, with caps and come two to a package, about 5 inches long. I like them not only for the shade, but they are hard enough to hold a point after sharpening, which makes making short, thin strokes possible. They've been around for years, my mom got me started on them when I was a teen. They aren't very expensive if you want to try them. Less than $5 for two.

You're welcome Conchita-and good wishes for your health too!
By the way, do ask for help and advice on which color to choose on the Anastasia brow powder duo. I ended up with a shade that was 3 shades lighter than I would have chosen myself. Like I mentioned it really helps to buy their long brush to apply the powder. Ask them to show you how to do it-I would never have known how otherwise! They showed me how to use the wiry part of the brush (it's a duel ended brush) to first brush up what hairs I do have and then turn it around and using the brush end dip one end in each shade of powder and start filling in where I don't have any hairs. Somehow it's easier to see where they aren't when they are brushed up. Go very lightly. Then use the wiry (is that a word?) end to brush all of your eyebrow hairs in place. Fill in a bit more if you need it.
I hope that helps. I never need the wax. This product lasts for hours. And even though it sounds difficult to do it's super easy.
Debbie in MD.

I overpluck too! I've plucked out stray gray hairs and ended up with bald patches that don't grow back. It's so hard to match my color (it's light, light brown/dark blonde), so pencils don't cut it for me. The pencils now barely have anything in them!! I've resorted to using my eyeshadow as filler and use a good brush. I put a dot of hairspray on my finger and go over it to keep it in place.
I LOVED the Anastacia eyebrow items but never tried the pomade. I have to get me some!!

I saw a pack of the two pencils and a sharpener at Dollar Tree. They have a LOT of makeup there now. Various brands too.

My brows have thinned and become lighter(gray & just less hair) with age. I've been using a brow product by Lancôme called Brow Expert--the applicator brush is like a mascara wand. Looks natural and lasts a very long time. I recently went to Ulta with my sister--she tried and bought a brow product there that is a wax with a separate color. Don't know the name offhand, was a bit over $30, but it looked really good when the gal used it on her.

I use one from Clinique that has been ok. It has the brow filler on 1 end and a highlighter on the other. Feel like it's time to start looking for something else though.

I don't use pencils. Most people I see who do, look like they drew the golden arches on with a Sharpie. I use powder, and have for many years. I currently use Bare Minerals Brow Powder. Would you be open to a powder? You can have someone show you how to apply it properly at a Ulta or any makeup counter. Me too. Love it!

Sad, very fair redhead with brows you cannot see. I just ordered the Anastasia brow gel. We shall see! I have great hopes as ALL the stuff the Peas recommend is great!
