Since I had to ask the peas for help with the lettering, I was told to share the finished project, so here it is. A quilted wall hanging for my favorite Potterhead. I decided to to it as a wall hanging instead of just a quilt. Thanks to the peas that suggested iron on transfers. They worked like a charm! DH says I must have put in about 50 hours on it, but frankly, I lost track somewhere between designing it, piecing it, and quilting it. I am very happy how it came out. The only thing that bugged me was that I ordered an embroidered Hogwarts crest to put in the center, but couldn't because Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are switched. Oh well, DD said she loves it and that is all that matters.

Wow, awesome. You should still put the crest on unless it's really obvious they are switched but I am betting no one would pickup on it.

Very cool! I missed your first post - are the spell words the ones you used the iron on transfers for?
I love the loopy travel path of the snitch, and I agree with Dictionary about the crest - I think that would be the perfect finishing touch.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback! I enjoy designing and piecing things like this. The actual quilting part, not so much, LOL.
I'm glad the snitch turned out. All I did was applique a circle of gold fabric (leftover from Gryffindor) and then freehand stitched the wings and flight loops.
DS has a birthday in September and he is a big Dr. Who fan so I have already started sketching out a design for a Tardis wall hanging. Maybe if I start now I will get it done in time, LOL.

That's amazing. My DD would love something like this, but as I'm rubbish at sewing, I'm not even going to show it to her!
