I love dogs, but I am not a great dog owner so I have cats. But I sure do miss having one around...and I really miss the puppy years. Glad you have a new baby to have help ease your grief.

I'm so sorry about the passing of your pup. The new one sure is cute, though.
They grow so fast!

I want one. Seriously. What a perfect mix. I've wanted a Wheaten forever! I'm so sorry about the loss of your dog though. Wheaten's are the best dogs! Unless you want a guard dog, that is, because everyone is their best friend ever. If you are ever in VA, I can give you the number of our breeder. She keeps saying that she is getting out of the business, but then has another litter. So very cute! And we have gone the opposite direction and gotten big puppies. They both will be between 60-75 lbs. One is 9 weeks old and one is 5 months old. Have fun. We are having a blast here with our pups! Wow! Those are gong to be good sized dogs. Two pups at once, you are amazing. Just like human babies, you forget how much work puppies can be when you are used to a trained older dog. It is a good thing that the stinkers are so cute!

I'm so sorry about your loss. Your new puppy is adorable. Looks like an ewok. Yes, she does. We alternate between calling her our ewok and our little wookie. Although while she is still small, she also looks like a furry bunny slipper.

elaine, they are actually the EASIEST dogs I have ever trained. I had the first pup crate trained and potty trained at 9 weeks old and ringing the bell to go out. Our 2nd pup was crate trained within 2 nights and learned sit, down and off at age 8 weeks. They are truly amazing. Best breed we have ever had. They are rough collies (like Lassie). I will try to start a thread with their photos. We are having a blast. And I guess after having triplets, this is easy for me. LOL!

Oh, she is so adorable! If I liked small dogs I'd be very inclined to get a Wheaten Terrier myself. But my family always had super large dogs. starting with a St. Bernard when I was 9 so I got used to the big ones. My parents now have a Bernese Mountain Dog who is just incredible. Anyway, I'm so happy for you and your family that you now have Maggie May to warm your hearts.
Please don't think that you failed your other dog OP, you didn't. She/he (sorry I can't remember what you said) knew you loved her and that you were right beside her when she had that heart attack. You did the best you could and that's all anyone can ask. Our pets know we love them.
