DH and DS are going to camp for 6 days and DD is going away for 2 1/2 days. I will be all alone (except for the dog) until DDgets home. I don't want to waste my time and want to do things I can't go with kids around. I plan to catch up on Netflix stuff - Orange season 3, Bloodlines, the Jane Fonda/lLily Tomlin show, and go to at least 1 movie. A nap hopefully will happen too. A trip to the library sounds good as well.
Any other ideas? What would you do?
Is it wrong that I am giddy?

I have the house to myself this weekend, too. I think I am going to sneak out to see Trainwreck. I might also tackle a laundry pile that is threatening to get out of hand. Otherwise, I have no concrete plans.

Eat stuff that no one else likes! Make the most of it!

I think I would binge-watch a whole bunch of either Masterpiece Theater type historical shows, or have a chick-flick romance movie marathon... (doing either of these things would elicit horror and ridicule if I did them when my boyfriend was home, lol!)
I might get take-out, make something, or go out to a restaurant that no one else would like, either...
enjoy your time to yourself!

For my half day I would get all my chores done. Then I would sew, while catching up on everything waiting in the DVR for me to watch. Of course not - you should be giddy! Sounds heavenly. Enjoy your time/freedom

Oh, that sounds divine!! I usually watch what I can't with SO and his daughter around. I just like to RELAX! Do what I want when I want. I may or may not shower, depends if I want to leave the house. LOL. Sleep sounds good. Make myself guilty food - Oreo's for breakfast is a great one. I LOVE having the house to myself! Enjoy.
I did have a cousin who's hubby and kids were going to be gone so she went to another friends cottage (which was going to be empty) for the week all by herself. She loved it!

I sent my DH and kids to my IL's house at the end of June and had 3 days home alone. It was glorious! I ate when I wanted, played music all day long, napped during the day and stayed up late at night... and I SCRAPBOOKED!!!

I have that frequently, and I make it a point to do absolutely nothing. I sleep in and then take a nice afternoon nap. I watch TV - Lifetime movies or whatever I happen to catch on TV.
I order out some food and eat as I please.
One day I didn't even really get dressed, and I didn't even go out for the mail. I just relished the silence and opportunity to completely slow down and just be.

I buy food that DH doesn't like so that I can eat it. I watch a lot of Netflix, read on my Nook and crochet.

I usually have 10 day stretches of alone time at home when DH is on a business trip. it is not wrong to be giddy. I get giddy. the house is clean. the house is quiet and still. I have go where I want, do what I want without asking DH what he wants to do.
I: -work on SB projects -play with the dogs -lunch/dinner with friends
all that makes the time move very quickly.

Right now I would do a massive house cleaning and shampoo the carpet. I know, I know boring as h**l but since I haven't been able to do much because of my knee my house is in desperate need a good overhaul.
Now, if I didn't have to clean I would catch up on shows, eat things DH doesn't like and basically by lazy the whole time.

My hubby leaves next week to take our kids to visit his folks for a glorious week. I still have to work (the reason I can't go along), but I am planning things to do each evening.

I would hope to get a lot of creative stuff done (I have some designs in my head that I haven't done a thing with). Whether that would actually happen or not is another matter. I would have to be very disciplined and make a plan.

I wouldn't prepare any traditional 'dinner' type of meals. I'd work on my blog. I'd do some photography, edit some photos and back up some pictures that I haven't backed up yet. I might watch some of the old t.v. shows that I have on DVD if I could figure out how to use the DVD player. I'd sit in my garden and put my feet up. That would pretty much kill the two and one half days, lol. What I wouldn't do, is have anyone over, or go out and do anything with anyone. I wouldn't do any cleaning either (beyond the bare minimum, dishes that I used, etc.) Enjoy!

Oh my gosh...I am jealous!
I would love that much free time. Sleep, eat the food I like (vs. what they like), watch TV shows I like (vs. what they like), do nothing, or do anything. It sounds wonderful Enjoy!

Clean and do what had to be done then play. I would watch stuff off the DVR or DVDs or Netflix that I couldn't watch in front of kids. Eat stuff they don't like and maybe scrap. Read a book in peace.

It is wise to solicit these opinions My husband had a health crisis late in April; he wasn't cleared to drive until late June. Therefore, if I wasn't at work, I was with him. Either at home, or wherever he needed to be, since he needed a driver. One of those weekends, he wanted to visit his parents for a day and we arranged with his sister to meet halfway and she took him. And I had a glorious day to myself. And accomplished nothing - I was paralyzed by the possibilities!

I had that at the beginning of June. DH took the boys to see his parents for 3 days. I mostly binge watched Netflix and girly movies, ate take out and made things DH doesn't like, and I deep cleaned a bit each day. It was nice!

Not wrong that you are giddy. Heck, I'm giddy for ya!
I would definitely:
Sleep in
Go to a theater movie
Order Chinese or make a meal that only I like!
Scrapbook (or do hobby of your choice)
Watch tv that only I like.
Bake brownies and not have to wolf down a tiny crust piece before the whole pan is gone. I would even make coffee and eat a piece leisurely!
Take a long bath or shower.

I would watch TV/movies they don't like on the biggest TV I would eat food they don't like whenever I felt like. I would be in my craftroom playing as much as possible. I wouldn't get to sleep in as the dogs are my alarm clock, but we darn sure would go back to bed after that 6 am potty/breakfast break!!

I'm so jealous! Be as giddy as you please. If I was so lucky...I buy meals my DH doesn't like and sit around like a big slug watching/streaming shows I enjoy (without any comments from the peanut gallery)
Enjoy every second!
