I finally looked at the February kits after getting several email offers from SC. The kits are so boring, The one thing I typically like is the chipboard, but this set isn’t even that exciting. The wonky hearts are cute, but we have seen them so many times, it is time to invest in a new shape. The stamp kit is just another version of the 20 million “currently” stamps that have already been produced. KP and FYC consistently come up with new stamp ideas, why can’t SC at least do that? Everything over there is a big old snooze fest, they can’t even stir up any drama anymore. It looks very much like the captured stamp set by life love paper. VERY much.

Instead of leading they pack, their products feel very much like they are playing catch up with other brands.

I skipped my February sub for the Documenter Kit. And judging from the couple of March sneaks I’ve seen, it looks like I’ll be skipping it again.

Use #scmarchsneaks on IG and sort by date, not most popular. Sarah Zayas has some IG Stories saved in her highlights, one shows loads of Documenter Kit cards. Here are some looks at the March Fly Away kits: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8mNNH-gbDe https://www.instagram.com/p/B8pmqT-gj71 I'll the be odd one out who actually *really* likes something from SC's March release: Christine's Take-Out add-on stamp. If it doesn't sell out, it might fly home to me. Christine's stamp designs work really well for my smaller-sized projects and I've loved her previous foodie sets... Bring on the sushi, pho and miso designs and sentiments!

It's called Isi & Ossi. It's German, funny, definitely way raunchier than Hallmark and totes perfect to craft in front of.

Thank goodness for Sarah or I'd never know what SC was trying to sell! She always does a great job with her sneaks! I definitely want the stamp sub. No kidding! I really like it as well. I'm wondering if it overlaps with anything I already have, though, from Geralyn or Christine Herrin.

I like the stamp set for sure, but there sneak process is so ridiculous. It is hard to believe they find this an effective way to get people interested in what they are selling.

The whole Everyday Explores stamp sleeves vs SC’s new stamp sleeves... Did that convo start because of this IG story from Christine? Sorry if I wasn’t paying attention 😬 No, it definitely precedes the IG story. I can't remember if I was the first person to bring it up but I do know that I immediately thought of them when I heard that SC was adding them to their shop. Those sleeves were a distinctive part of Christine's brand. She doesn't seem to hold a grudge over this as shown by her multiple IG stories on the subject and reposting the shout-out April gave her for inspiring SC to add the sleeves to the shop.

In the minority here, but I don't like the new sleeves. I much prefer my Avery Elle ones. I've cut myself twice on the Studio Calico ones, they are too stiff of a plastic for me. I'm moving all my stamps from the SC sleeves to AE, so at some point I'll have a pile to get rid of.

SC has a history of jumping the gun and products have design flaws.

I'm on the fence about the shade. I would enjoy it if it were true but... Christine doesn't have a shade-throwing history on social media and I've followed her for a few years now. Also, her shop is nowhere near its peak form. She began guest-designing for Studio Calico around the time she backed out of monthly releases. Her social media presence has been uneven for quite a while now. She promised monthly freebies in her newsletter last year (like KP) but didn't manage to keep up with it at all (I think she only sent out like 2 freebies in the end). Considering the amount of stamp sets she has designed for SC in the past 18-ish months (both add-ons and Stamp sub), I just don't see it as shade right now. Might amend my stance depending on what she does with her EE brand now that she's moved back to the States. Here's to hoping we don't lose another indie designer! I really hope her take-out add-on stamp set will still be available when the items go live for non-subbers. We've been enjoying a lot of Japanese food lately... If anyone wants to request themes from Christine, head over to the EE IG account. She asked what our plans for 2020 documenting are for some inspiration and there were not a lot of responses, alas. You can also DM her if you'd rather not interact publicly. https://www.instagram.com/p/B7w-wUNn5Ir

Birthday, anniversary, New Year's eve, etc. I'd love something with sentiments like "This is how we celebrate [add extra stamp for 'you', 'me', 'our anniversary', etc.]" and fun icons that could work for all types of festive gatherings. ETA: 900! Dance party!

I re-subbed starting a few weeks ago for the first time in a few years. I read the new policy for add-ons. Am I reading right that on the 1st of the month, you can start adding things to your box, and you get charged for whatever is still in your box on the 5th? Do they sell out still? What time on the 1st do you start being able to add things?
Ugh. I promised myself I would not get into the business of dealing with add-ons or FOMO frenzy, but here we are.

For the most part, FOMO frenzy doesn't exist so you should be fine, although there are a few items or stamp sets that sell out here and there. You can add on things like duplicates from your kit (another chipboard, stickers, the monthly stamp set releases, etc.) and then a few other limited items. I tend to add on 6x8 or 6x12 page protectors, but they don't offer all of them as an add-on item. You are correct, you can add/subtract the add-ons up until 11:59p on the 5th, I believe, and they charge you on the 6th. You will get an email reminder from them.

I too am resubbing after a few years. I had to reach out to CS as I was just so confused about how it works now. From what I can see, FOMO doesn’t really exist around SC like it used to. I think it’s items like particular stamp sets and chipboard add-ons that seem to go quickly but other than that, everything seems to stay in stock for the duration of bundling - in my experience of the last two months. The add-on selection is quite limited compared to what they have in the whole of the shop so, so far this year, I am yet to use it. I’m hoping that they’ll soon have extra card sets as an add-on.

peachiceteas epeanymousI canceled my documenter sub after last year, but I have held onto my stamp sub. I actually really like the new way of bundling for the most part which is clearly modeled after how Ali Edwards has formatted some of her larger releases (December Daily, etc.) and how she does her subs. Basically, when kits go live you have a "box" instead of your regular cart and you can add and subtract items as often as you want until the 6th when whatever is left in your box you are charged for. Things don't seem to sell out anymore, at least not like they used to, although I have seen some add-ons sell out after the first day or so. One huge positive of this new system though: there is no "cart timer" once it's in your box, it's "safe", but you also can take it out up through the 5th without any penalty. So if you are worried about something selling out you can just add everything to your box that you might be interested in immediately when kits are released, then take your time to look at the photos/description and remove items from your box you ultimately don't want (just don't forget to remove it before the 6th if you don't actually want it!). The two main negatives of this system: 1. You can only add items in the reveal category to your box, not everything from the shop. So this tends to be just the new kits, add-ons and a few basic supplies. 2. Because of the limited options for add-ons, it seems ridiculously long to wait until the 6th to charge/ship your box. I get that this was the timeline they had before, but it made sense with the ability to bundle orders from the regular shop & last call. Now that it's formatted like AE's release, why not have it a similar time frame (she has 1 1/2 days to add to your box which is PLENTY, no one needs 5 days!)

I just resubcribed to the DK kit as well. The BOGO pushed me over the edge. I felt it was a better deal than the AE kits just because I don't use the classroom portion anymore (haven't watched one in a year) and I like the esthetics and their shipping prices (for the sub) aren't crazy for Canada. Some of the other kit companies are WAY expensive!

Yeah but I don’t see empty sleeves for sale in the everyday explorers shop Christine offered them as a separate item for a while if my memory serves me well. Maybe two-ish years ago. She didn't really need to as all her stamps have always come with it though. It really was reaching out to customers for their non-EE stamp sets. I got a message from her on IG confirming loads of new stamp sets are coming to the shop and she showed enthusiasm for the celebration stamp set idea suggesting she might try to design it for her upcoming birthday in April. Fingers crossed! I don't know how long the turn-over is for her to design + get the stamp sets made but who knows?... Don't hesitate to show her some love and enthusiasm for her brand on social media if you like her work. It looks like her move back to the States means extra attention to her brand and shop. It's the right time to give her the double thumbs up if you feel like it.

It's the right time to give her the double thumbs up if you feel like it. I had purchased a 10 pack of sleeves from her when she offered it in the shop, she had made it seem like it would be a regular item (I had messaged about it at the time) but maybe they didn't sell as well as she intended because she hasn't restocked them in awhile. But you're right, her stamps always come with them, so they are really for people to put their other branded stamps in. Honestly, I want them for all of my stamps, but I have a ton of stamps and really want to buy them a little at a time. With shipping costs, I had intended to just pick one up each time I ordered a stamp from her, but they have been out of stock or I haven't found any stamps to order in awhile. I believe she only ever offered the sleeves in the 4x6 size though... SC has 6x8, 4x6 and 3x4.
I love EE stamps, but I have found that the sleeves are a necessity because they seem to lose their stick quicker than other brands' stamps. They are also pricey and US shipping is really high compared to other brands so I only pick them up when I absolutely love the design and know I will use it again and again... I have picked up quite a few of her designs when they are designed for SC though.
I would be excited if she makes that celebration stamp, it seems like a great idea! I always try to check her shop regularly for stamps that I have to have. I do hope that we will see more from her in the future
