Jim Parsons who plays "Sheldon" on Big Bang Theory. I saw him on Actors Studio and he kind of came off as arrogant. now that I think of it, maybe that's why Sheldon character is so convincing. it's just Jim Parsons acting himself. it was a disappointment. now I don't like him as much as I used to. OTOH, I've seen Kunal who play "Raj" on our local morning news shows and he really is a nice guy. very funny. I like him more now that I've seen interviews with him IRL. Really? I saw him on the late late show and thought the exact opposite. He was also voted nicest guy in high school. Hopefully fame hasn't gone to his head. maybe he was having an "off" day on the Actors Studio because the whole hour was focused on him. he did seem a bit nervous but there were some parts where he didn't come off well. DH says Parsons calls into his sports talk show every so often and he's very nice each time.

My husband and I went to an Elton John concert recently and due to freak thunderstorm paid a ridiculous amount to park in the VIP lot which meant we ended up going in the arena area through some side door. Staff thought we were there for some meet-and-greet and rushed us down the hallway "because we we late." Before we knew it, we were at the door of the room being asked for our special passes which we of course didn't have. As we were explaining, here comes Elton John down the hall. He says, "After you," but of course we aren't going in. So we got a quick handshake and hello which was pretty cool anyway. He seemed very friendly. And the concert was fabulous!

My dd is interning in NYC for two companies right now, one of which sells linens from Turkey. They sell beautiful bath towels, beach blankets, robes, etc. Recently Neil Patrick Harris, whose kids apparently attend the same school as the owner's daughter, made an appointment to come to their office in Manhattan to choose some linens for his twins' upcoming beach party. My dd was there working on their social media when in walked Neil Patrick Harris himself, not even his assistant. He had one of the kids with him, and sat down at the table with dd's boss AND dd, looking through textile samples, choosing towels and robes for each of the guests as party favors. DD said he was there for about 15 minutes, and was as polite as could be. She said his little boy was delightful, and when DD's boss mentioned that DD also nannied for her on occasion, he said if he ever needed a back-up nanny, he would give her a call! Needless to say, she was pretty blown away!
DD also had the opportunity to meet Sir Ian McKellen after his show Waiting for Godot. He routinely walked behind the theatre to greet fans and pose for photos, sign autographs, and DD said he even spent a few minutes with people chatting and seemed very gracious. She absolutely LOVES him, so I'm so thankful that she wasn't disappointed in his character when she met him.

Kyle Chandler has such a kind face. I would hate to hear he's a jerk in real life. I coworker and her DH recently ran into him one afternoon in a bar near Austin. She said he was absolutely charming, offered to take a photo with them, and is even more handsome in real life. I agree that he has a kind face. I am happy to hear it is more than skin deep.

I met Dustin Hoffman once after a play in NY, he was very charming. He even blew us kisses as he drove off, he might have had a few after performance drinks, but he was still lovely and concerned that we were outside in the cold without coats in December.
I lied when before I said I wouldn't really care, I would care deeply if it turned out Jimmy Stewart had been a womanizing jerk or an a- hole. Fortunately everything I have read or heard is the exact opposite, if you know otherwise, please don't tell me!!!! I might cry,

My cousin is a food stylist for Better Homes and Gardens magazine. A few years ago she got to work closely with Trisha Yearwood. She said Trisha was exceptionally kind, gracious and a total joy to work with.

I could go and cook and hang out with her - so yeah I would be bummed if she was a jerk.

I'd love to know what Keith Urban is really like.
On second thought, I think I'll just keep my mental image of him. LOL. I know I was devastated to read about his cocaine addiction.

My dd has met and interacted with several "stars". She said Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth were both incredibly rude. They were at a party and did not want to talk to anyone. Strange. I have a hard time watching then on The Good Wife and Madam Secretary without thinking about that.
Once again, I've had a different experience. It's funny how that goes, isn't it? I've met Bebe Neuwirth on more than one occasion in the past as she is a friend of a friend. Bebe grew up in this area (her mom still lives her) but my friend no longer lives here.
I could see that. My dd was only with her at this one event and it was during the horrible The Addams Family Musical previews. The musical was horrible, so maybe she was just crabby and rude because it wasn't going well.

Ohh I forgot to add Jimmy Fallon he's the only other one I really like personality wise and hope he's think he's really like that in person. I would be SO sad if I found out that Jimmy Fallon is a jerk. He seems like such a kind guy. Don't read gossip blogs then. They really don't like him. If they are as right about him as they were about Ben Affleck, he's in trouble.

I don't look up to them, but I would hate to see Chip and Joanna, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis, Mark Feuerstein and Paulo Costanzo from Royal Pains, Matt Bomer, Kelly Clarkson, Christopher Gorham, Jim Parsons, Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon, or any of the cool people from Chicago Fire/PD turn out to be jerks. I'm sure there are more, but those immediately come to mind.
A friend was in a bar that is a regular hangout for the Chicago Fire cast. She said they were very nice and told the women that they "contractually couldn't take pictures" with them. Probably not true, but they just wanted to hang out at the bar and play darts.

Dolly Parton was a doll (I have a picture of her and her co-workers with Dolly). Elton John and his husband were equally as nice and said Elton's dh was very handsome in person - she had to take them down an elevator to the stage. She was sooo nervous, but they were great.
I just read that Rachel McAdams worked at a McDonalds for 3 years. She has to be humbled by that.
If I had been in the same room with Elton, you would have had to call 911. I just adore him. And it is nice to hear he and his husband where nice. <3

Jimmy Fallon comes across as a forty-something frat boy, never quite grew up. sometimes it is charming and sometimes not so much.
I did meet Harry Connick Jr after a Broadway show and he was kind and generous with his time to the fans waiting outside the theater. It was also so appropriate that he was picked up in a (very nice) pickup truck rather than a limo or town car. It just made him seem that much more like a regular guy.

Pat Monahan the lead singer if train (in my avatar) is a doll. He is so real, no artifice. Spends time with his fans, says his time On the stage is his fun and his time signing autographs and doing fan events is his job. But he doesn't do them like a job, he enjoys people and getting to know his fans. He has personally answered a couple direct messages I've sent him. I'm proud to be a fan.

I was a huge groupie in the eighties. Met a lot of rockers. All the guys in Motley Crüe were cool. Especially Tommy Lee. Met them all twice. Met Vince Neil 4 times. He was kind of shy but nice. The guys from Night Ranger, Vandenberg, The Scorpions were all hella cool. Also met Ozzy and although he was wasted out of his mind, signed my stuff. David Lee Roth was an asshole and would not give me an autograph when I saw him outside the venue hours before a show. I saw Blackie Lawless, from a band called WASP, standing behind me in a restaurant and he couldn't have been any cooler. I also met Martina Navratilova and John McEnroe and they both refused autographs. Not surprising.

I was very pleased to learn that one of my celebrity crushes from TV was a sweetheart when I had the chance to meet him last February (James Marsters aka Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I left thinking "I love Spike, but i really like James". Now if Tom Hiddleston turns out to be faking his niceness, I will be very disappointed. My DD does Dragon Con in Atlanta and she has met Marsters. She was really impressed by him. She's really good at timing her meets and photo signings during lull times, so she's gotten to spend a bit extra time with a couple of the celebrities. She said that Tom Felton (Drago Malfoy in Harry Potter) was a doll. He was really glad to have the company and he invited DD and her friend to stay until someone else shoed up to get a pic, then invited them to come back when he was done. She said he was just a nice guy who was really interested in finding out where to go and eat in Atlanta. One of her favorites was Eliza Dushka from the Whedon universe. Again DD caught her in a lull time and was able to spend a few minutes just talking. DD said Dushka asked her how she had done her makeup (DD was dressed in cosplay) and got a pen and paper to take down the name of the Youtube channel where DD had found the makeup advice. DD has tweeted back and forth with Egypt Sherrod from HGTV's Property Virgins several times. They have a similar body type and DD really admires the way Ms Sherrod dresses on the show, so she asked her about her wardrobe. Ms Sherrod responded and invited DD to ask about particular outfits whenever she wanted. I admire Nathan Fillon's wit as demonstrated on his Twitter account. I'd be disappointed to find that he was a butt without reason. Marcy

I love him even more now. The man shops for fabric with his wife? Could he be any more perfect? Seriously. sigh. My husband is going to be so disappointed. He jokes that his one big fear is that one day I'll run off with Hugh. I told him it's not possible because one of the big reasons I like Hugh Jackman so much is that he's a devoted family man. If he were willing to run off with me, I'd no longer be willing to run off with him. She is smart and he is smart that she is smart and she is smart that he is smart that she is smart. I'll explain: She wants to go shopping. She wants him to pay. He doesn't want to go shopping. He loves his wife. He doesn't want to go shopping but he eagerly says: "honey, should we go looking for fabric so you can ... "craft?" (Gosh darn what the heck is that hobby of her's called that she has amassed all that sh!t for? Quilting, that's it. Quilting (and amassing all sorts of odds and sods). He drives her to the fabric store and goes in with her. He agrees in a friendly way "good idea, Honey. "Why don't you get some of the blue and white fabric with the black and the army green is great, too." She gives him the stink eye "Sweetie, this quilt is for Mum (her mom) and her parlour is blue and white. I told you that" (ok I did tell him eleventy billion other things but we are forgetting about that for now). He pays for the quilting fabric with his Visa Carbon card it's new and it's for the Eliter of Elites in the world. They drive their Jag home and she goes off to work in her sewing room. He pours himself a glass of wine. (Wine sounds right, doesn't it? He's rich. Do really (really) rich men drink beer when they could drink expensive wine? (Not sure. Maybe you decide k?) 11 pm and she never emerged from the room other than to make a sandwich for herself (she told him earlier he was on his own for dinner AFTER he took her to the quilt shop) He went to the Sewing Room and asked her "how's it going?" She looks at him (thinking to herself: ok he wants something, say 20 min start to finish then I can get back to my project)... And they are happily married. Whaaat?

Mine would be Jon Stewart. I've loved him since he did the show Short Attention Span Theater back in 1991. I know that he and his wife are huge animal advocates and they own a farm in NJ where abandoned, sick and abused farm animals can live out their lives in peace. He seems like a genuinely lovely person.
I'm going to miss him so much when he leaves the Daily Show in three weeks.

Adam Sandler is another! He was on Fallon last night giving Jimmy tips on their kids! I think Jimmy maybe softened since he's had kids. I have heard different stories of meeting his family in hotels and such so I'm willing to give him the benfit of the doubt. I know of his drinking issues. I hope that's behind him. I don't know how much of an issue that was. But I do really like Adam Sandler too and know he's very much a familiy guy! Loved his advice to Jimmy! Can't wait to see Pixels!!

I'm sure nobody would be shocked and appalled that Martha Stewart is a right giant bitch in person. Many years ago she did a bridal event in the store where I was assistant manager. She was so mean to everyone, including me, and the assistant we hired for her who was a pastry chef at one of the city's finest restaurants. Made people cry. I would quit a hundred jobs before ever doing an event with her again. My store had a number of higher profile customers - I regularly served Silicon Valley CEOs and other folks with name recognition - they are a mixed bag. I had employees who would hide from certain tech bigwigs because they were so difficult. But then Kristi Yamaguchi of figure skating fame came into our store a couple of times and my staff said she was very pleasant. Years ago I met a women who was a chef in Martha's test kitchen. She was very tight lipped about Martha but would say that it was not a pleasant experience and she would not go back. And chefs are used to being yelled at.

I don't think you can judge ANYONE by a talk show appearance!! LOL!.
On another note, I had a co-worker that went to HS with Josh Duhamel in ND, and she said he was a total douche bag in HS. Sounds like hopefully he has grown up.
