So, I've got my hard brush tool, I click where I want it to start, shift and click where I want it to end, and it staggers in 3 places, so the end placement is off by like 3 pixels!!! How do I get it even?! I'm trying to draw a name line!

In PSE you depress shift first then click your start and finish points.

Are you using the Line Tool because that's the brush you need to draw a straight line? It's accessed under the Shapes tool button on your toolbar. Press and hold the Shapes icon and when you have got the Line Tool selected you just click on your image, shift and click where you want it to end and it will be straight. If you are using the Line Tool I'm not sure where the problem lies.  |

I click (and hold) to start the brush, press (and hold) shift, and then drag my mouse to where I want it to end. Then release everything.  |
