jenjie and I were having a discussion on the Zip Line thread, and I thought it deserves its own thread. If you want to share why you voted as you did, that would be great too. Jenjie is one of my favorite Refupeas because she is so graceful under pressure. Even when her life has been more stressful than most of us can imagine, she has the time and energy to say kind things to the peas here. She has remained true to her faith and approaches life courageously. And I also think she has a great sense of humor. I'd love to go zip lining with her some day.

I completely agree. She's been a pillar of strength and an amazing example of God's love to me. I often think of her and when I'm struggling with something or need to turn the other cheek, I think of what she might say or do in that instance. She's exuded grace and kindness beyond anything I can even imagine giving what she's gone up against. I'm being humorous here, but it's almost like WWJD (what would jenjie do). LOL. I know our goal as Christians is to mirror Christ, but she does just that in her perfectly imperfect human way. I'm a Christian but would love to have the relationship with Jesus that allows you to shine Him so brilliantly. A relationship where I decrease and He increases. Thank you Jenjie for being that example for me.

I just like her. I won't go zip lining with her but I will hold her stuff while I sit on the bench.

I voted all of the above because she quite simply is. I have never 'known' any one so brave and gracious in the circumstances she found herself in while still supporting and encouraging others She is an example to us all of how to be a better human being. I Jenjie.

I have not read the ziplining discussion (or much of the board this past week) but I will catch up tomorrow. I look forward to it.
I have to say that jenjie makes me want to be a better person and Refupea. Before her recent trouble and tragedy she was the proverbial teabag- "put it in boiling water...." and her stoicism and kindness through that situation (family) is what made me admire her.
She gets points for even breathing now, never mind supporting others!

I envy her strength in her faith. Truly. I don't have much belief, and I am envious of those that have. She has shown so much strength and faith......

I greatly admire her strength, and her honesty. She is so 'real' and down to earth.

I'm not into heights, so no ziplining for me. But I would treat you and jenjie to some ice cream when you're finished with your adventure, elaine.

Jenjie would be encouraging and very compassionate if you were afraid to zip. She'd listen, pray and be your champion. I'd go zipping w/you both any day.

Well I personally, have never had so much respect for someone with whom I have so little in common. She is a very devout and faithful Christian, and I am an atheist. But at the end of the day I have never felt that mattered for the two of us in any conversation--even those having to do with religion. I have a lot of admiration for her, and empathy as well.

Jenjie has shown so much grace throughout this entire ordeal, and I mean that in the larger sense, not the Christian sense, seeing as how I'm not Christian. I think she's been an inspiration to us all.

She is a really great Pea. She is so uplifting. I remember some of her posts when Fred was too sick to go to church or "a friend in need is a friend indeed" post and there were oodles before those that make me believe she is just a good person.
Jen when you read this, think "We love you! We really love you!"

I am an Atheist, so IRL we would move in different circles and it is unlikely we would hang out and be friends (although I'd love to hang out with her!), but I adore her. I agree with all that you wrote carblover. Well I personally, have never had so much respect for someone with whom I have so little in common. I actually edited my post but it must have been after you quoted me flanz. I thought my original post almost sounded like I wouldn't want to be friend with Jenjie so I changed it to "I am an Atheist, so IRL we would move in different circles and it is unlikely we would hang out and be friends (although I'd love to hang out with her!)".

Oh wow. Thank you elaine and all. I'm struggling today. We have VBS (Vacation Bible School) this week. Out of everything we do throughout the year, this is THE thing that Fred and I did together. For the past 7 years we have been a team, and a very good team, often running in different directions but always checking in with each other and definitely complementing each other. This year I have a different partner. A good friend of mine. She will be a good partner, efficient, effective and compassionate, but she just isn't Fred. Afterwards we went out for ice cream with some of our best friends. Lots of laughs but I couldn't help but think how much Fred would have enjoyed himself. So yeah I'm feeling it. To come home to this beautiful thread just warms my heart and fills the lonely places this evening. Thank you for blessing me. Thank you for affirming me. Thank you for seeing the best in me.

@carblover443! WWJD! Hah! Too funny . And yet I'm honored and humbled. I have a dear older friend who I think has the strongest faith of anybody I know. She came by it the hard way, as I think the training ground for faith building is a difficult road. She had had quite a few hard knocks. Rather early on in this particular chapter we found ourselves in, as I found my faith being stretched and grown, I thought "God is making me more like Jesus..." And then... "He is making me more like R!" And she is so beautiful to me.
