My crazy, fat and happy cat who is drawn to whatever I am working on like it is a cat magnet taking a little siesta on my latest project. I am working on a Nordic Shawl from My Rose Valley, and I love how it is turning out. Here's another photo, minus the fatboy.
I have been on vacation, so I haven't posted a thread for a while. What are you all working on these days?

My cat like to help me knit by chewing on the yarn. Nothing like slightly soggy yarn to make you appreciate life.

That looks awesome! I am working on my first shawl, and um....I've just started over for the third time. I've finally got it going good, though.

Thanks, Tesla and Jodster. My cat likes to chew on the yarn, too. Things sure move off the front page of this board fast. Anyone else want to share what they are working on?

I love the shall and the kitty! I'm working on a baby blanket for my cousin who is due in September. I have a long weekend of hanging out in a campground this weekend and I'm hoping to get a good portion of it done. (please excuse the dinosaur puppet, the dog kept throwing it at me to play. I'd throw it out of the frame and my the time I tried to snap the photo, he'd have it thrown back at me, in the frame again. So I gave up and just took the photo.)Attachment Deleted

I just love how you can click on a photo to make it bigger on this board.

I don't know which I love more...the kitty or the shawl.
Your kitty reminds me so, so much of my beloved Merlin. He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge several years ago and I miss him so very much. I haven't gotten another cat yet...my heart keeps telling me I'm not ready....I may never be. He was a special kitty. He was 26 pounds of lap warmer.
I love the colors you used in the shawl-so earthy and I love that teal in it. Thanks for sharing-the shawl and your precious kitty. Snuggle him for me!!

That shawl is beautiful and your kitty is so cute !! I don't have a picture at the moment, will have to add later but I took a break from my HUGE Around the World Afghan. I am crocheting some purple baby hats for charity and knitting some dishcloths for a swap. This dishcloth pattern is really fun but it is coming out much bigger than I would like, so I think I might use smaller needles on the next one just to see. I will try and post photos later.

Disney, how did you get into a swap? I've been trying to get into some local stich n bitch groups so that I have someone to crochet with, but haven't been able to attend any of the groups due to work.

My dog crossed over 8 years ago and I am still not ready - it just broke my heart and like you, I don't know if I will ever be ready. Maybe one day we will be but time will tell and if it feels right, we will know.

Disney, how did you get into a swap? I've been trying to get into some local stich n bitch groups so that I have someone to crochet with, but haven't been able to attend any of the groups due to work. It was through a group on Ravelry. They have lots of group swaps there. The particular one I am doing is the Annual Dishcloth Swap Group. I like this one because you don't have to sign up for it - that way you are not pressured if you don't have time to finish for some reason. You just knit/crochet 4 of the same pattern and send them in by a particular time and then you get 4 different ones back. But there are several groups. I even found a local S n B group on Ravelry that meets at a yarn shop every Wednesday, so you may be able to find a local group through there too.

I'm busy working on an order of 20 project bags but on my needles is one half of a pair of fingerless mitts. I came across a simple pattern and changed it a little. If you follow me on instagram (@deafknitter) you can see my progress.

Oh yay! I was hoping you'd made it over here and these threads would start up again! I love the colors in the shawl!
I'm working on a baby blanket for a close friend. They love hunting/fishing and the baby is a boy so wanted to go with a realtree theme if I could find something close. I ended up with this pattern, which I absolutely LOVE, and am using this yarn for the background and brown, rust & maybe a dark green for the leaf rows. I'm super-excited about it!
I'm also looking for a pattern for another baby due in my church this fall. The baby is a girl, and the Mom's style is described as "earthy with a touch of whimsy". I have some of this yarn that I got on clearance in a variety of colors, and I'm thinking it may fit the description. I started on a prop blanket with some of it already, just using a basic shell pattern with a Q hook. It looks pretty cool so I might make one for her with it, if I don't find a pattern I like better.
In other news, I found a whole slew of knitting needles at a thrift store for a buck a set, and was way-excited to try to learn to knit. Excitement ended when I actually tried to use them.

Awwww....thank you! I actually made it here I think the day two peas boards shut down. I did start one other thread for knitters/crocheters, but then I went on vacation and haven't been back for a while. I love seeing what everyone is working on! Good luck on your baby blankets. I am working on one of those too, but so far, it's pretty boring and just white. I'm going to put some color in it, but I was waiting to find out if the baby I am making it for is a boy or girl, and I just found out yesterday it's a boy. I'm sorry you lost your kitty. My cat doesn't weigh 26 pounds, but he is still a "kitten," so who knows how big he will end up. He is huge. Thank you! I love my cat, but man is he a big fat pita sometimes. LOL He's so sweet though, you can't help but love him.
Disneypal, I remember your around the world afghan. That is quite a project! I can't wait to see it all finished.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments about my shawl. I have knitted for years, but I can't believe how completely addicted I have gotten to crochet in just a few months. I still enjoy knitting, but there's just something about crochet that has me hooked. Maybe it's because when I make a mistake, which I do quite often, it is sooooo much easier to fix.

I also just clicked on the link for the purple baby hats - oh my goodness! Definitely going to participate in this!

I finished my shawl this morning! Well, not totally--I still have to weave in the ends and I want to block the lacy border. I do love it, and I so enjoyed working on it, but honestly...I don't know what I'm going to do with it. LOL Anyway...here it is!

Your shawl is gorgeous! I'm currently working on a couple of hats. I'm doing the brim for one of them, which is just the WORST for me...takes so long and it never looks even. The other is a Hello Kitty hat that will be for DD for Xmas...I've started over on that one 4x now! After that, DD wants me to make her a market bag like mine. I love the purple hat idea
