I am sad that I am on the last few days of vacation. I am planning to spend Tuesday afternoon with my niece that is moving away to college next weekend. She is going to college with her sister at UMKC. She was planning to go to college in Springfield but she didn't get on the dance team. She tried out for the UMKC dance team and she got in! She loves her dancing so she is excited. I am sad that both of my nieces will be away. At least they are in the same town and makes it easy to visit! I hate I have had some work stuff to do on my vacation. On my last day of vacation, there is a mandatory charge nurse meeting. She usually says that it is excused if you are on vacation but then she bothers you still to go. I plan to go to keep peace. Yesterday, my sister, niece and I had fun swimming at my parents pool. They live in a subdivision that has a pool. We have to sweet talk our mom into going. Then we went to my sisters and had a BBQ. We had a fun day! Today, I have been taking it easy and chatting with my fiancé. I added a photo of me in July when I got my new glasses. I have had some eye issues again this year. I had to wear my glasses for 3 months. I took a photo of my cat eye shaped glasses. I had to have some fun! I do have contacts back again but I don't wear them everyday as direction from my doctor. Here is a picture of my fiancé and I sitting in a Starbucks in Bahrain: Cindy, I hope your elbow is healing! We will sometimes get cellulitis patients at work. I hope the antibiotics do the trick! Kelly, we have talked a little about our wedding plans but haven't made a final decision. We have thought about getting married at the court house but have a wedding ceremony later. We have a lot of expenses with immigration that is putting a damper on our plans! My ideas was to go to Eureka Springs, AR and go to a wedding chapel. He isn't to big on that idea. Then we had talked about going to Hermann, MO to get married also. I found a place not far from the house my parents had when I was growing up that is gorgeous!! It is a little pricey for a small wedding. I hope we can figure out when he will get here and make some final decisions. Nylene, it sounds like you have been busy with your grandchildren! It is sad when they get older and they don't want to do the fun things when they were little. Now my nieces are 18 & 20!! How time flies!!

Stopping by to catch up! Hi Jana nice seeing you again so soon! Love your glasses and what a great looking couple you are! I hope all goes well for you with all the legal stuff, visa's etc. I know you are probably excited to see him.
I have been in a fib again today so messed around with some stamps and heat embossing that I have not done for a while! I am really getting back into my stuff! I am totally enjoying playing around even if I have not done a layout etc. I found a new website that has tutorials and free Silhouette classes. The tutorials she has done are fun to look at and I think I ma try a few to keep my interest up! Ok well not much else to talk about-the swelling in my arm continues to go down and mainly it is swollen right around my elbow, and still is very tender.
BBL!

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are having a nice day. I was painting yesterday and it felt good. I wanted to make some art for my walls as a part of my redecorating plans. I am using bright yellow, pink and blue as my colors to blend in with all the brown and tan colored furniture. So the valances, pillows and art will be the things I am making to bring some bright happy colors to our living room. So this is what I am up too. LOL!
Jana- Look at the lovebirds! LOL! So glad to hear from you and I am wishing you both the best. My wedding planning and day was one of the best times in my life and I hope you do whatever you truly want to make it memorable, exciting and fun! Enjoy it all! Your glasses get a thumbs up from me too. I wear them and need to get some new ones at some point.
Cindy- You are having fun trying some new and old things out. I like that too. I haven't heat embossed in a while either. I usually like to do it for my stamped sentiments I use on my cards. Such a neat process! Hope your arm keeps improving!
Nylene- Waving hi to ya!

Hi, Pokeys! Jana, that's a tall, dark and handsome man you have there...well, I'm assuming he's tall since he's sitting in the photo. LOL. I'm glad things are going well for you so far. I agree with Kelly, just make that day very special. It doesn't have to be a huge blow-out, just a very special time with those you love as you are united as one. Keep us informed. I'm happy for you and also give a thumbs up to the new glasses. How are your allergies?
Cindy, I'm sorry you are still having a-fib problems. Does it start at a time of stress or is there no rhyme or reason for having it start? Glad the antibiotics are helping the elbow. I hope one course of antibiotics will take care of it and you don't have to have it drained again. Did they tell you to do hot-soapy-soaks on it. That was always my Dr.'s advice for any infection along with the antibiotics. Take care. Glad you have found some new videos. I love that you are always wanting to learn more about this great hobby.
Kelly, your living room will be so pretty with bright accents added to it. Be sure to do before and after photos for us. Are you painting faces or something else? It will be fun to see your work. It's been really hot here, but has cooled today. But I drove down the street and saw trees in the valley already turning orange. NO!!!! I'm not ready for Fall because winter is right behind. Brrr!
I found a photo of my mom and dad last night and had been thinking about them. I realized that today is the anniversary of Mom's passing 7 years ago. I just dug through my stash and had to scrap it. I'll post it in the gallery and see if I can remember how to link it here. I hate being computer-challenged.

Today was Maggie's first day in middle school! She was kind of worried about being lost but her dad told her she would not be the only one and she wasn't! She said she is not worried about tomorrow and has already made a new friend. I knew she would be fine. I have not done much of anything today. My arm is much better but still hurts when I brush up against something. It is another hot and humid day and feels like a you are in a pizza oven when you walk outdoors. I have a couple cards I am working on and might get scanned in after the grands leave for home Making a light dinner tonight-BLT's. Well they could not find infection in the fluid from my arm but he is having me finish both antibiotics just in case. I am going to get off as I do not have much to chat about! BBL

Cindy, is Maggie in 6th grade? We don't have Middle Schools here, so Ashley is in 8th grade at Jr. High and Lys is still in the Elementary school where I will be teaching. They were both so anxious to go this morning. Tori's kids started today too. I haven't talked to her yet about their first day. I'm not sure when Anj's 2 start. Drew will be in Kindergarten and Sam in 3rd. I hope the elbow becomes less sore as time goes on and that it heals up completely. BLTs sound great, but the tomato hurts my tongue so I have BL's and corn on the cob.
I'm going to spend some time scrapping this evening. I need to get some cards made for Card Club. I'll post one when I finish.
See you all later!

Hey girls! It is cooler here today and I am glad. Cindy I am sending you some nice ocean breezes to cool you off. That Ohio heat sound tough so hang in there. I still remember that Summer we visited our aunt in Ohio and boy the humidity and the mosquitos were awful. So a blt dinner sounds just perfect. It is still warm out here so I will be happy not to cook tonight. My dh will pick something up. I have enjoyed painting and will do more today. Nylene, I am painting flowers in a vase. I am going to make two big pictures for my living room wall. So far it looks fun but still have more work to do on it. I haven't made flowers in a while so having fun rediscovering how I did it in the past. Wow, kids are doing to school already and midweek? I am so out of touch with school these days. I think our traditional schools start in Sept but maybe that has changed. Sending all your dgks the best on their new school years. Cindy- Hope your arm continues to feel better but glad to see it hasn't kept you away from us. Nylene- Your lo about your parents was so sweet. That picture of them looks so current like I could see them in the store today. Lovely couple and memories.

Cindy, I love your recipes. I use that very same cookie recipe. I've used it for about 20 years. The nutmeg is the reason I love it. I worked on a layout last night. It's really simple, but done. This is our 3rd grandchild to graduate from High School. Seems like yesterday they were little ones. Congrats -Tyler (edit) by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Cindy, your card is so beautiful. I love that hydrangea stamp. Your coloring is so pretty. I have one more to post. It's a quick one using PL cards that I bought thinking I would like doing PL. I found it just wasn't for me. This is Brock's invitation to his Baptism. Great to be 8 - Brock by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Thanks Nylene for your kind words-I had fun making that card..I love that stamp and do not get to use it very often. Love your page and congrats to Brock! What a warm and wonderful smile he has. I found PL was not for me either. But using those cards are fun anyway. I love how you used them on this page! I have been sitting here watching cooking shows but plan on hitting the scrap room in a little bit. I think I have found my mojo cuz I am really wanting to get in there now where before I would walk in and walk right back out feeling like I did not have any idea of what to do in there. I am so glad!
Wow they just gave me a new rank! I kind of like that one!!!!

Cindy, that new title fits you perfectly! Hope you get some scrapping done today. My Sat. chores are almost done and I plan to scrap the rest of the day. I loved seeing your post on the Stamping/Card forum. I'm trying to be a bit more active on the site and have joined a couple of challenges. It would be fun if this site was as active and fun as 2peas used to be.

Thanks Nylene! Yes it would be nice if it were more active. I am part to blame as I was not participating but had no creativity in me. Now that it is coming back I too am trying to get more involved. I have been making an effort to comment in the gallery and read the forum and respond when I can or have a suggestion. I think you always have contributed and tried to keep things rolling along even though it was only the three of us. I thank you for that. You are very special friend! You give everything 100%. So glad I know you.
I think something is wrong with their system as I just had my rank changed back to being a full member. Who knows what is next!

Happy Saturday! Glad to see you both today. I am nurse Kelly today as my dh has a cold. He is feeling better and I just hope I don't get it. So far so good. Just taking it easy today and hope to get a little crafting in before the day is over.
Cindy- Football is here and in fact we are watching the Eagles now. What a beautiful card you made. I love those flowers and the way you did it was just great. I am off to leave you some praise in the gallery.
Nylene- What a cute page you made of your dgs. Yeah, I haven't got into PL either but that was a nice way to use the cards.
Hey Cindy and Nylene, you both are #5 top contributors in our gallery!!!!!! CONGRATS to you both!

Hello! I have worked the last few days. Last night at work was horrible. It was my 3rd 12 hour shift and I was feeling tired. I had no time to be tired!!! I had a patient that I was trying to get her comfortable. She was needing my attention for the first few hours of my shift. Then I finally get her settled and she gets a roommate that was hateful to the staff. Then she ended up leaving against medical advice after having surgery!! I was shocked of her actions. I had to get security to escort her out of the hospital. I was worn out this morning! I came home and laid down on my bed and fell asleep for a few hours still in my scrubs! I finally woke up enough to get dressed and head to the coffee shop. I am off for a few days and going to enjoy it!! Friday, my sister and mom got my youngest niece, Jasmine, moved into her dorm. She told me she is having a blast! She is on the dance team and they danced at a soccer game today. She said she got to meet some famous soccer players. I am glad she is enjoying it! Nylene, he is actually 2 inches taller than me! He is 5'8" and I am 5"6". My allergies are still bothering me. My new allergy doctor office finally notified me last week that they have my serum mixed up. I get my first allergy shot with them Monday. I had to make an appointment since it is my first one. I have to go through some education. I hope that this gets me some relief. Ragweed is one of my worst seasons so that doesn't help me. I love your LO's! Beautiful! Cindy, I am glad your elbow is doing better. Your card is beautiful! Kelly, I hope your husband feels better soon! The public schools here started August 13! Much earlier than what I remember when I was a kid. I live between a high school and elementary school. The traffic has picked up in my area!

Jana, I'm sorry you had such a miserable night at work. I didn't realize that some patients could have such temper tantrums! You poor nurses. I'm glad you got the allergy serum and and start on it soon. Hope that clears up the allergies. Mine are really bothering me right now and I feel like I have a perpetual headache from the stuffy sinuses. The smoke coming thru Utah from the Washington fires are not making things better. Congrats to your niece on making the dance team. And I'm glad to know I was right about the fiance, tall, dark and handsome. Hope things are still going well for your plans. Kelly, how was the crafting over the weekend? Is it still hot down there. I can't believe we have 90 degree weather still. Our trees are starting to turn orange, but it's still hot. However, I don't look forward to the winter coming! Hope Ron is feeling better and that you didn't get it. Cindy, how's the elbow today? I noticed that you marked something of mine as a favorite from the gallery. How do you do that? I finally learned how to post an image in the thread for the August Stash Challenge, and now I can't figure out how to just post a link like I was doing before. I hate being so useless on the computer. Here's a page I did for the August Bonus Challenge on this site. This is our Angie as a Senior in H.S. Beautiful Angie by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Hi everyone! saw the doc today and my elbow is on the mend! Still not sure what caused it. The culture grew nothing. He said he was really worried about it being staph or MRSA. Now he is wondering if it is gout or pseudo gout. Need to let him know if it starts up again. Nylene- to make a page a favorite when you are in the gallery on the bottom of the box the photo is in is a star just click on it! Here's what it looks like: Your link is working fine it took me right to the gallery. I played around yesterday with Christmas card ideas and made a new board on Pinterest for Christmas Cards ideas. Did not like anything I did so need to keep playing! Jana I hate when you have patients like that one that signed herself out! My brother called me one day and said he was having heartburn with exertion and I told him he needed to go to the ER. They diagnosed him with a heart attack. Well they did not get him to room fast enough to suit him so he made them remove his IV and walked out. He called me the next morning and I told him to get back in there and they had to insert stents. Oh Yoy!!! Kelly-I am so waiting for Football to start-both college and NFL. How did the Eagles do the other day??? Well going to get off-will stop back later!

Cindy- Football will be starting soon and Ron is very happy! I can't remember how his Eagles did the other day but they will be a fun team to watch if things go well this season. Hello friends!, I am sorry to have been awol so long.. I have no sad excuse. I just finished reading this thread,so learned some things.
It seems like you are all ok and still working on scrapping and other artistic endeavors.. Me too!
I am well, enjoying life as best I can, I would not try to fill you in for all the time I've missed.
I have a new cat as Sylvester left me.. Then along came miss peepers! We are great room-mates and she is the boss! She gifts me each day with a mouse or mole, carefully placed on the rug just outside my front door. I take care of the funeral and she looks on proudly.we enjoy coffee on the deck together daily in the am and then she comes inside to enjoy a very long nap, usually in an antique wagon filled with quilts or her very own cat bed in the scrap room beside me.
My ruby Jo is nearing her third bd and she continues to fill my heart with joy. Presently, papa and grandma robin are busy building her and parents a new home about 6 minutes away on another country road near the school. They should move in sometime soon! She calls it the "ripped" house, since it is very under construction.
I will try to be a better friend and participant on this thread, but try not to expect a divine transformation, I will try.
Soon come pam

PAAAAAAMM! It is so great to hear from you. I hope you will share some of your scrappy and artistic endeavors with us. I have missed your beautiful layouts and hearing about your quilts and rugs. Ruby Jo and Alex are close to the same age, and that little guy is the joy of my life. I'm glad Ruby Jo is not moving far away from you. We'd all love to see photos of her on your pages. How's your traveling/college grandson? Or has he graduated? Hope the rest of your family is well. Glad you got a new kitty after Sylvester left. Miss Peepers sounds like such good company. I hope you can drop in often!
Cindy, thanks for the help with the favorites. Now why have I never seen that or realized it was there? Glad your elbow is doing better. I hope it doesn't reoccur. Enjoy your ball games. I'm glad Kelly's here to discuss them with you. (since I know nothing!) I think Pam's a sports fan too, if I remember right.)
Kelly, you and Cindy will have to get together as you watch your teams. Too bad you live half a country apart. I'm sorry you caught Ron's cold. Take it easy and have him serve you some chicken soup. I'm sending virtual "bug" killers your way.
Waving hi to Jana! Hope things are going better at work.
I'm working on some pages. I probably won't get them finished until next month. I'm in the process of planning our Family (siblings) Reunion that will be held at my brother's home on the River in Idaho. It's Labor Day Weekend and I just got the final tally of RSVP's and there will be 71 of us there. Mom and Dad would be so pleased. Lots of "grands" and "great-grands" and a couple of "great-greats".
Have a great weekend, everyone, if I don't get back here before that!

Wow Pam how great to hear from you! We wonder about you a lot and what you are up to! I miss seeing your beautiful art! I hope all is well with you! I have had a couple of challenges but I am getting there. I lost my mojo for a while but I think it is finally coming back. I do traditional and digital now and have added in cards and stamping! Glad to hear Miss Ruby is doing well and that you have a new companion. You need to do a page on each of them so we can put faces with names!
Oh I finally found what I need to get the ink and glue off my fingers. Ranger makes a "scrubbie" and it really works. Actually it is a very smooth pumice stone I believe and it removes the ink right now-Have not tried glue yet! I will never forget how blue my fingers were after that misting class at Scrapfest!!! Nylene you remember I am sure I think they were blue for days!
Kelly hope you feel better soon! Sorry you got Ron's cold-I bet you were kissing him! LOL Looking forward to you feeling better and getting your creative juices flowing again.
Ok it is late so going to get off for now! See you tomorrow! Hope to see you soon Pam!

Happy Friday! It is HOT out here and unfortunately I had to get out there for a bit but now back at home and nice and cool. My dh and I are both feeling better from that cold too. Thanks for all the chicken soup you sent. And Cindy, I wish I got Ron's cold from kissing that would of made it worth it. LOL! Since I was a complete couch potato this week I did start some scrapping. I hope to work on more this weekend. Pam- Soooooo happy to hear from you! You have been missed girl. I am glad you got a new pal that has been keeping you company. She sounds like she is so giving by bring you "gifts". LOL! Years ago my cat brought me a lizard "present" during my birthday party!!!! So funny! Take care of yourself and hope to see you here when you can. Cindy- Ink on your fingers means you were having fun!!! But I am glad you found a way to get it off. Who knew it would be more than a little soap and water. Football tonight and this weekend. Have you ever been to a pro football game? I haven't but if Los Angeles gets a team, maybe once in my lifetime I might go. The last big game I went to was USC. It was so much fun. But I still prefer to see any sports on a nice tv. Nylene- Your family reunion is going to be so fun. I know you will have lots of pictures and laughs to tell about. Enjoy and can't wait to hear about it. Especially being on the river. That sounds so wonderful!

Can you believe that the month is almost over and it means summer is over. This month has flown by and I haven't accomplished all I wanted in my scraproom, but I have had a great time with the grandchildren. I'll try to post the Sept thread tomorrow, but it may be Tuesday. I think I will start teaching again tomorrow, but haven't heard for sure. I don't teach on Tue. or Thurs. so I should get the new thread posted by Tues.
Cindy, I laughed out loud about your inking hands. I DO remember that! So funny. You were such a good sport.
I think I'm about ready for our Reunion. I still have rockets to make, and things to gather up, but it should be OK. We are going up a day early to help my SIL get the yard ready. My brother will still be in N.D. for work until the day of the reunion. He's so generous to offer his home and yard. I think we will add ice blocking this year. His big hill going down to the river will give everyone a great ride.
Better get a few things done. Have a great last 2 days of August.

Well here is one I did for my niece. She wrote the letter to her daughter for her first birthday and I wanted to make sure that Aleah would have a copy of it. Here's the link: A Letter for AleahI have been quiet today as the a fib is acting up again and I get so fatigued if I do anything when I am like this. So took advantage of the time. Went fishing yesterday and my friend caught a 4 pound bass. He is in my fridge today waiting to be cooked! BBL
