Our extended family is adopting a brand new baby boy after many years of trying, medical intervention, and waiting! We are sooo happy for them!!! Just want to say a sincere thank you to the birth mothers, foster mothers, and counselors who help make families grow

I registered for my Fall 2014 classes.
It feels good to be going back to school after 17 years of not taking any classes.

After almost two years with no exercise, I am finally ready to resume working out and am starting by walking. Yesterday morning I walked with a friend for an hour and walked another hour with a different friend after dinner. Felt great!

The past year has been tough with our daughter's juvenile arthritis diagnosis and the medical expenses that go along with it. This month we splurged and attended a conference for families of kids with juvenile arthritis and money was tight because of it.
Days after returning home, dh's car stranded him. A sensor had gone out and the repair was $500. Our budget is strapped due to medical bills, so finding $500 was stressing dh and me both. I got home from work the other night and a friend had dropped off a check for $500 from our church. I could have cried.

Today DH dropped me at the dentist while DD went with him to his appt with an orthopedic surgeon. He had a follow up with our GP scheduled right after that a block from the dentist's office so we were going to meet back there. I got finished over an hour before him and had some time to kill but I had neglected to bring cash and everything else was in his wallet. I went in the little coffee shop next to the Dr office and asked how much a cup of regular would be, and she asked what size. I told her whatever I could get for 1.00 (thats all I had loose in my purse) and she said "A small is 1.58 but I have the change right here." It was only .58 but it made my day that a waitress would cover part of a tab for a total stranger, likely from meager tips.

Someone that I really respect and admire came up to me tonight and told me that she really enjoyed interacting with my son (she's one of his youth group leaders. She's also known me since birth, and is good friends with my mom). She complimented his character, told me he was very "sweet" and had a great sense of humor.
I practically melted into a puddle! My son has never been an overly easy child, and there are days I feel defeated and under qualified to be his parent. But when someone I trust goes out of their way to compliment my son's morals, character, and behavior...well, that's music to any parent's ears. I'm so proud of him!!!

Nothing that exciting here. It's been two weeks since my furbaby passed away and I miss him terribly. It was nice to see all the great stuff happening to everyone here. Awww...I'm so sorry. Sending you hugs!
