I've eaten a dozen in one sitting before. Best donuts ever.

We got a handful of store here. The lines were out the door crazy for awhile. I think half of the store have closed now...at least the one by me has. It was ironically replaced with a vitamin store.

I don't like Krispy Kreme donuts. Like other posters said, they are too damned sweet. BLEH! We have a lot of mom & pop donut shops around here. I don't know of any chain donut shops in a ten mile radius. The Dunkin' Doughnuts closed about 10 years ago and Krispy Kreme never gained much of a foothold in our county. I think we're spoiled my our mom & pop stores.

I prefer Krispy Kreme over Dunkin Donuts. Dunkin Donuts USED to taste fresh. Now they taste pre-packaged and gross. I prefer a local doughnut shop that has their "normal" varieties available (including my favorite Lemon Meringue...like Lucy said...not breakfast...and not a doughnut...but dessert) and daily "specials" which include Blueberry Cake, Chocolate Chip Mint Buttercream, Strawberry Rhubarb Jelly, Chocolate Peanut Butter Knots, Coffee Buttercream, and The Dutch Crumb! (copied and pasted from their FB page...today's specials) You want to see edible, delicious works of art? Go check out their FB page for photos. www.facebook.com/dutchmonkeydoughnuts

I will be the lone dissenter and say that I could care less if I ever eat another donut. Just not a fan of donuts in general. Doesn't matter where they come from. And I have a huge sweet tooth.

I have eaten them before, and I know this is NOT a popular opinion, but does anyone also find them "too sweet"? I love my sweet food don't get me wrong, and I have a larger than should be a$$ for someone 5' tall but they are just too sweet. Maybe with strong, bitter coffee they would be perfect? Elannah My household is not a fan of them. I remember when a Krispy Kreme opened in Texas when we lived there we were all excited to try these "awesome donuts" yeah we didn't even finish the first dozen we got. The taste and texture is ALL WRONG. We're Dunkin Donuts Fans. A few years back a Krispy Kreme opened up in a mall near my area. Great location. But they were a flop. Closed in less than a year. What's there now, you ask? A (thriving) Dunkin Donuts!

I was all excited to try Krispy Kreme donuts back in the day when all the hoopla surrounded them. After I had one, I thought they were way overrated. Some of the best donuts I've had come from the Mom and Pop bakeries back in the midwest. That boggles my mind that someone was held up by knife point for those darn donuts.

Well at 2 am when you are on a date with someone you are madly in love with, and this is the first time you have ever ever ever in your whole life ever eaten them you want to make them to be the best thing you have ever eaten. Yeah they were hot...but so sweet! I like Tim Horton's donuts better. But if I were in the South my opinion might change. We had them in Savannah. Yes it was a really great date too! Funny. This is similar to my first KK experience. A Vermonter madly in love at 2 am in Atlanta with my new Georgia native boyfriend. Hot doughnuts off a conveyor belt? It ended a few weeks after this but it was a memorable night!

That is crazy stuff! I live in VT and we don't have Kripsy Kreme here. Only Dunkin donuts (I typed Funkin first! LOL!) and I don't like their donuts. They sit like a rock in your stomach after you eat them. On the rare occasion that I eat one, I always regret it. Lisa D. Do you happen to live near Middlebury? Because the Bagel Cafe there used to make doughnuts from scratch that were amazing. Hands down the best I've ever had. Not sure if they still do, though, as we moved away a few years ago.
