I think it was incredibly crappy to just close everything down! My first thought was of Beth and not being able to hear updates about her. I wasn't as active anymore due to working longer hours, but I did check in everyday and 2peas was a big part of my day. I almost feel like shutting everything down was a giant vindictive slap in the face. Not to mention only giving their garden girls an hours notice. momof3pits, they've been working on managing Beth's pain- upping her meds to every 2 hrs where it was every 3 hrs. She's having a hard time getting comfortable in bed. It is so hard reading the updates from her husband. I pray that they will be able to keep her as comfortable as possible. ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png)

I agree just closing the message boards down like that was a dick move. Agreed!

I have seen brick & mortar businesses open one day and then *poof* all gone! One dance studio held their weekly party and just hours before deeming it a final "Good-Bye" party! The owner didn't even show up that evening nor did the FB reflect any type of acknowledgement of closure. The studio had been around forever and actually closed up with loads of lessons still on the books!
I never, ever thought 2Peas would ever behave like that:( *tsk*tsk*

Angry, hurt, and sad at the same time. 13 years - poof! Thank you for starting this board. I was feeling a bit lost for a while, silly as that sounds. It doesn't sound silly to me. I freaked when I saw the board was suddenly down.

So sad to hear the news about Beth. I loved reading her posts and things aren't the same without her.
As for the divorce theory, it does make sense. Though I could see if the business your life revolved around for 15 years was closing, you would just need to rip the bandaid off and be done. No justification, just trying to understand their perspective.

I still can't quite believe that the Pod is gone. It is gonna take awhile to absorb. So glad to have this board!

I had been a member since 2001 - didn't even get the email. I didn't post much - usually just on the reading threads, but I am so glad someone started this board - Thank you!

I agree, I think it stinks that no notice was given. 14 years - that's a long time. I may not post much, but I did read at the pod almost daily.

.... No justification, just trying to understand their perspective. You know, I don't give a flying flip about their perspective at this point. I can empathize with the industry leaving them, but I don't sympathize with them leaving us like they did.

I agree that there should have been a warning...and if there would have been fallout on the boards if they did so...you know be an adult, put your big girl panties on and deal with it for a week and then it's over.
I posted in the Instagram pic...I had to get something out.

I think it speaks volumes that they could keep the store open to take our money, but shut down our communications and essentially our online family immediately.

Sounds like the whole matter was another twopeas mess. They had been running a poorly managed business for years and to dump the garden girls w/only one hour notice is just slimey. I've lurked over there since 1999, but began posting in 2003. So, you do form connections and concern for other peas, even when it's anonymous. I am so sad for Beth and want her to know that she's in many peas hearts. So, thank you for starting this board. It almost seems like a vengeance move on the part of Kristina/Jefferey. We had been annoyed w/them and they did this, forgetting that some of us really were customers, too. Grrr...

I am so pissed at them, but I am even more pissed at myself for placing an order yesterday. I panicked, and bought what was left in my shopping cart. It was only $15 worth, but still...dumb, dumb, dumb!! Why did I give them money after being such assholes....gaaahhhh!!!

You'll get the items at a discount, and if they f it up, it's only $15. I spend more than that at the fast food counter.

honestly and even if there was a fallout on the boards, would it really have mattered? it wouldn't hurt business because it was closing down anyways. that is what I don't get. and there were other friendships formed on the photography and digi scrapping board. so, just an a-hole move all the way around. it really doesn't make sense.
sheesh, when they said they were done, they were DONE!

Sorry to hear about Beth.
Seems like all the scrap celebrity blogs are thanking 2Peas.
Disappointed they locked the boards with no warning.

I agree that it was a pretty a-hole move. Leaving the forums up for a few days would have been a nice consideration to the community that had built up their name in the first place. I'm just happy this board seems to be up and running and thriving.

Bad 2Peas.

Yep a crappy move. I had been on there for 11 years. I understand they didn't want to pay for hosting or didn't want to hear the bashing and negotiate comments but at least 24 hours would've been nice. That place and the people posting were important to a lot of us.

Why did some get notified by email and others didn't know a thing about it?

Why did some get notified by email and others didn't know a thing about it? I'm wondering that myself. I only found out because my friend IRL called & told me about it. I totally get why they closed - I admit, I didn't shop here at all in the past few years. The message boards were a great thing, but they were running a business. That being said, they really could've given us a day or two. More importantly, if it's true that the Garden Girls got no notice, then that's really sucky.

I received the email stating that things were on sale due to them closing. Only because they kind of annoyed me with how they handled everything, I'm not exactly feeling like I want to run and give them some last bit of my money.

Definitely. They had to have known. I would have liked a couple of days to save some things, etc. Douchebags. I think this is a big reason that they severed ties like they did--there was not a whole lot of loyalty to 2peas either--it seemed that all people did for the last year was complaint and talk mean about them!

Pffff, people have been complaining and talking bad about them for the entire 15 years, so that wouldn't have come as a surprise. It was just a typical move on their part...tacky!!

I thought it was a dick move too. However, I'm flabbergasted to see that even though they shut the boards down before people could communicate, the word spread like wildfire and the same group is here now, lol. THAT is amazing. Truly-I look at the member group and I'm floored!
