I "think" I finally installed a new hard drive (2 TB Toshiba drive) and upgraded my operating system to Windows 7, SP1, from an old, but bad-ass 2006 Dell XPS410 system. I think the saying, that "bigger, isn't better" was the culprit in this update. I thank all the people that have shared their trials and tribulations to getting my system working. THANK YOU....(I'm doing a fist pump, if you couldn't tell)
Anyone else want to share in a fist- pump moment??

I said "no, but thank you" when asked to be on a school committee. When ds was in public school before we homeschooled, I was the go-to "yes" mom and ran myself ragged.

I have gone 5 weeks without eating a piece of bread, pasta, chips, potatoes, cookies, crackers, pizza, popcorn, candy, etc. I can hardly believe it myself lol! I've loosely followed a low carb diet for a while but recently decided to get more serious and make better choices. Happy to have survived and learned that I can do this. I know it's not that long of a time in the grand scheme of things but it really has changed my way of thinking and improves how I feel immensely.

Last Thursday, I cleaned out my closet and donated over half my clothes to Goodwill. I can actually walk into my closet now and find things! Oh, and I also took the bags of clothes to Goodwill the very next day. I still feel a big thrill everytime I get dressed.

I lost 7 pounds this week just watching portion sizes. I couldn't figure out why I was eating healthy and not losing weight the last two months. I was eating too much healthy food.

I Konmari-ed my clothes, and now my closet and dresser look better than it ever has. I think I can keep up with this one. It makes sense to me.

I wrestled a 9 pound feral cat into a carrier and got her chipped and blood drawn for titers to move to Korea! I felt like superwoman when I successfully did it.
No, you shouldn't have housecats that are feral cats, but Ursula is one of 2 beautiful sisters my daughter got as fosters last year to try and socialize. Her sister Phoebe is doing beautifully (we can pet her!) but Ursula has made no real progress. However, they are so strongly bonded breaking them up isnt an option, and the idea of leaving both in a feral colony was breaking my dds heart. So, because we are moving, and Phoebe is moving, Ursula must move too. I wasn't sure I would be able to get her in a carrier as previously she had to be trapped to be transported anywhere like the vet, but I did it, so she got her pre- move vet trip and I now know I can get her on the plane. It requires a thick coat, heavy gloves and a towel, but by golly- I did it!
Small victories are the best.

I've been staying on low carb track since Labor Day. I'm kinda proud of myself. SallyPA here is a super simple low carb pancake recipe. 2oz cream cheese 2 whole large eggs. Dash of cinnamon Sometimes I'll add a very small amount of vanilla extract. Blend if all together (I use my chopper) cook it like you would do normal pancakes. The mixture is thinner than regular pancake mix so it can be tricky to flip but you will get the hang of it. They're really good. I was skeptical lol!

I've lost 11lbs in the past 2 months just by eliminating sugar in my coffee and staying away from mindless snacking at night. I am now 1lb under my WW goal weight!!

I cleaned out my closet and a couple of other closets, resulting in 4-5 trash bags of items to Goodwill. gryroagain , I would have loved to see the cat-wrangling mission as it played out!

this is kinda silly but definitely a fist bump moment for me.
I bought a great little vintage typewriter that wasn't working very well. I took it to my typewriter guy who has almost 50 years of experience. he got it working great again except for one cool feature. he said nothing could be done to get that one thing working again. after a few months, I decided to sit down and take a look at the problem. mind you, I have NO mechanical prowess and I certainly don't know typewriters. a few HOURS, a flashlight, a micro steel file, nail polish remover, a makeshift wire hook, and double sided scrapbook tape (who knew???) later and I GOT IT FIXED!! ding ding, happy dance, and a pat on the back to me. fixing that thing made an already valuable typewriter even more valuable and it also made it perfectly functional for use.
BTW, I wasn't annoyed at my repair guy for not fixing it. I chuck it off to him being super busy with other jobs and just not having the time to do it for how little he was charging me to service the machine overall. but fist bump to me.

This morning I took an hour long Zumba class and then as soon as it was over, walked down the hall and took an hour long WERQ (hip hop dance fitness) class (my first one).
4 weeks ago I couldn't even make it through 15 minutes of one Zumba class, let alone 2 high impact classes.
Also, weighed myself this morning and am down 51 pounds!

You all have done so many good things. Your posts make me smile. I started a reading blog a few weeks ago and have been regularly updating it. I struggle to stay on top of things, but I love books/reading and have been able to keep this rolling. Hopefully, I can say the same thing after three months. Building Lifelong Readers

I'm actually not hungry much at all which is surprising to me, the only time I'm really hungry is when I get up in the morning. I'm still craving sweets and chocolate but I have resisted so far.

We do a charity golf outing every year in honor of my dad who passed away 9 years ago. This year's event raised nearly $6,000 for Make-A-Wish - we are so excited. It's just a family run outing but year after year we end up with 125+ golfers. I don't have an exact number but I think we've raised around $40,000 over the last 9 years.
