1/4 cup water 1 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoons of cornstarch 3 cups of rhubarb 1 tablespoon vanilla
Mix first three in pan big enough to whole the rhubarb. Add rhubarb and vanilla. Cook until thick.

Hints if you double the recipe only add 1/2 more of sugar Add more nuts and oatmeal Add salt Use butter instead of shortening Be generous with the rhubarb. And cook it until it starts that lovely red color.
