When I started my purge, I realized I was never going to do all those projects I bought kits and supplies for. I wasn't going to make recipe books or fill those 7 Gypsies printers trays with photos and memorabilia or finish that 4th of July banner I started in class. I don't want to store all those supplies and I certainly don't want to store the finished project. They were never "me" but I got caught up in the hype.
So they went to a rummage sale for the local humane society, a very good cause. And it was freeing for me.

I have not made a real sb page in 2 years. Just cards. Did one year of project life and hated it, so just stopped. I want get back into sb pages, but so far, have not. Part of my issue is that my photo printer went to check, and I got another that stunk, and I felt gypped, so didn't buy another. Now I have a pixma, but don't use it all the time. There! I said what my problem is.....so enlightening!!!!
Oh and I noticed that I am a THROBBING MEMBER, so now I don't want to post for awhile. Hee hee!!!!!!!

Yes, I have left parts behind. No, I haven't regretted it.
I have hated making cards for a while now, but have recently decided to just stop making them. I felt like I should because I have the supplies and it is way cheaper than buying a card. Plus, I don't have a lot of opportunity to go out and buy cards because I am super picky about choosing one. But I seriously hate making them. I don't know why. So now I only make them when I need one "right now" and can't get out to buy one.
I scrapped 8.5 x 11 for years and then did 12 x 12 for a while. I decided it was stupid for me to be doing 12 x 12 because I am an 8.5 x 11 gal and went back to it.
Maybe that is the only thing I kind of regret? That I went 12 x 12 for a while and now have to store those albums? I have 23 8.5 x 11 vanilla albums and 4 12 x 12 aqua albums. Annoying. I do have a bunch of 12 x 12 PL albums, but they are stored in a different place.

I'm the opposite becuase I used to do cards but haven't given them away or even made more than 5 cards in the last 2 years. I'm quite happy with scrapbooking and PL but feel guilty about all the stampin up stuff that I've accumulated.

I don't do as many traditional pages. I mostly scrap using divided sheet protectors and do a year in review type of album. Special photos might get a traditional page.
I find joy in seeing finished albums. I don't find joy in doing a lot of different techniques and taking a long time on a page. I don't like being creative. I like being crafty.
I like themed pages and like having Christmas albums, Halloween albums, etc... out with the different holidays. So those are my traditional pages I do for fun. If I get years behind, that's okay. I have a couple of those photos in the year in review album.
No regrets so far.

I still prefer 12x12. That's what I started out with. Never really did get into the mini books. I usually keep my layouts pretty simple. I did get into cards for a few years. That helped cure my crafting wants when scrapping was overwhelming. Two toddlers later I'm scrapping again. Still sticking with 12x12 but considering Project Life. Not ready for digital. I like feeling the product with my fingers and getting my hands a little inky.
One thing I did learn is not to keep every little single scrap of paper. If it's small enough to fit through a toilet paper roll it gets tossed. Also, one other tip I figured is if the patterned paper from that stack you just had to have isn't to your liking, flip it over and use the white side for a nice clean background. I used up a lot of ugly paper that way.

I used to love the time spent embellishing my layouts. Sewing, adding ribbon, and other embellishments. I still love those layouts, but mostly because of the memories of my little ones. I took a 3-4 year break from scrapping and found that when I got back into it my style, whether it's fashion, home decor, or scrapbooking, had changed to a much more simple one. When I try to embellish more I don't like it. I like clean and simple everything - no clutter. I think I'm still getting used to the idea that I can use mostly paper and cardstock, a clean design, one or two small embellishments and be happy with it. I find that when I scrapbook I'm fighting myself and I keep staring at a layout that I want to be done with and feeling like I should add more. Then I add more and don't like it. So, in short, I'm working on leaving embellishing behind.

I'm going through a transition now. I enjoy making cards but use only a small amount of supplies. There are some scrapbooking supplies not suitable for card making. I have alot of PL stuff-including vinyl albums and pocket pages. I have scrapbooking items I will never use-embellishments, paper, big shots and dies, a ton of buttons and ribbon. Lets not forget about the Explore and Cameo sitting on my shelves, collecting dust.

This is a really interesting discussion. I can see how people change and prioritize, especially time and resources. I'm really fortunate in that I made some decisions early on in my scrapping development that I'm so grateful for, and other than the sheer number of layouts I do (that drastically reduced when I went back to work in 2009, and simply had very little time for scrapping) my style, and approach to scrapping has stayed almost exactly the same for the past 9 years or so I've been scrapping.
I am digital only, and I'm so glad I invested the time to develop strong Photoshop skills so that I could create all of the things I imagined.
I always scrapped 8x8". In my early 2Ps days, most of my digi friends all scrapped 12x12. Even though I rarely print layouts, I'm glad I do the smaller size. Takes up less memory, and seems more manageable.
I have several distinct styles, and have pretty much stuck with them through these years. One style is clean and graphic, one is more technique-y, and one is fun and artsy. Sometimes I do more clean and graphic, other times, I'm in the mood for artsy. I'm glad I discovered that it's ok to have more than one style early on.
I always created all of my own digital elements. That made it simple- I didn't need to worry about the latest kits, PP, trends, and scrapping fads. Early on, it made me a little sad to know that I would never be on anyone's creative team or design product, but as time has gone on, I'm grateful that my layouts are just mine.
I started blogging in 2008 (mostly layouts and other creative projects), and find I still have time to blog several times a week and keep in fresh. I'm pretty surprised at that, I thought I might lose interest, but so far, I'm still in it for the long haul.
There are some things that have changed. I've really gotten into photography and Instagram, and think my scrapping has actually benefitted from my new photo skills. I do more event scrapping than I did in my earlier days, back then I had time to do more esoteric types of layouts. But perhaps the reason for that is that many of those types of layouts were done for challenges, and I'm not currently doing challenges.
Coilstrand said "I don't like being creative. I like being crafty. ", I'm the opposite. I don't like being crafty, I like being creative.

I started off scrapping 12x12 layouts and still continue to do so. Project Life has never interested me except that I love to use the cards on my layouts or put a pocket page beside my 12x12 layout to add extra photos. I have never strayed into mini albums or Dec Daily etc. I don't pressure myself to do any photos in any certain order. I just scrapbook whatever makes me happy (kind of like Shimelle) and then add the layouts chronologically in my albums. I also want to keep scrapbooking fun.
