how do you stop your hair from getting so messed up?
My darling hubby finally feels successful enough to buy himself his dream car and he's looking at a convertible. So yesterday we went to a local dealer and took one for a drive with the top down.
My hair looked like a bird's nest when we got back. My hair is too short for a pony tail. I don't own a baseball cap - not a fashion style I'm into.
So scarf, or hat or???

We have 2. Unfortunately, your only choices are a pony tail, hat (I wear knit hats) or elastic headband. Sometimes, I just let it blow in the wind, but it HURTS to brush it after.

I scarf it. The hat, unless it has a stampede string, does not stay on. Or just go with the bird nest look. But I prefer the big sunglasses and scarf. Kind of like Jackie O.....

They rarely do any highway driving with the top down. They only put the top down for slow speed scenic cruising. That helps the hair issue a great deal although it doesn't totally alleviate it. I keep a ball cap in the trunk of both of the cars. You will have to tie your hair down some how, well pinned up hairstyles, hat or scarf even if it isn't your normal style. Hats need to either fit low and tight (like a ball cap) or have some sort of chin tie/stampede stings to keep it on. The wind does pick up the brim!

We ride with out Jeep top off a lot in the summer and I have long hair so it's either in a ponytail or I wear a baseball style hat. I also wore a shower cap once lol long story but it worked!

I prefer a scarf, as I'm always scared a hat is going to fly off, and I just look stupid in a baseball cap.

I keep a hair clip on the emergency brake handle. When the top goes down, the hair goes up. Most of the time at least.

I have had 2 convertibles and both had a "wind screen" - fits across the back of the front seats or across the back seats. HELPED ALOT!!! I couldn't drive the one car on the highway without it - it was like there was a tornado inside the car...everything from ashes in the ashtray to receipts dropped under the seats would be swirling inside the car but would not fly out. You can impress the salesperson by asking if the particular model comes with one!

I either wear a ball cap or a do-rag type scarf. I have a wind screen for my car, too. If your car doesn't come with one you can try looking at windrestrictor.com - I got mine there - mine has a couple of palm trees and a sunset etched in it - love it, and their customer service is first rate.

I used to roll up the windows especially on the highway.. that also helped a lot.

Were you sitting in the backseat? That was always worse than sitting in the front. I don't remember needing a hat (hate hat hair worse than convertible hair), but I would put it in a pony to try to keep it out of my face.

I have a wind screen and when I roll up the windows, it is perfect. I get the convertible feel but my hair does not blow around at all. Love my MINI.

Didn't know to roll up the windows. Will try that and see how that works. All the one's he's looking at are just 2-seaters so no backseats.
