DS got added to the first group of kids who separate from the group and run into "battle" as part of their show. It was a recent change because before he was part of the second "wave" and I would lose him on the field.

This was us at Thanksgiving last weekend. Sorry it is so big. And yes, I am that fat right now. Imagine me a size 6. That is how I normally look. I can't wait to get back to my normal size. I feel and look like a capybara. Mum looks good though, doesn't she? Great looking family! Your son is so handsome.

I celebrated my 49th birthday running a half marathon in Memphis. My daughter took this photo after I crossed the finish line and was about to hug my husband. I was so tired and happy to be done! How can you be 49? You have the legs of a 20 yr. old! What's your secret?

DD is the shorty front and center. This is DS accepting the trophy for the group: Yes, we won. This season, of all the awards up for grabs at all the competitions they earned 1st place in their division at every single one and all but three of the category awards (Best music and best overall effect every single time.) You can also see two costumes I made for the band this year in this picture. I did the color guard vests and arm bands and my son's Will Turner costume. We added the tricorn hat because he didn't look "pirate-y" enough to the other drum major without it. It works though, because now he looks like a captain. Here's the awards they earned at our district competition. This is 1st in division, best music, best overall effect, and best color guard. I teased DS that when they present their awards for the season to the school board they will have a trophy for everyone in the band to hold. Not quite, but they have a lot of swag this year. It's been an awesome season.

Now that is awesome perumbula! DS's band is in its first year of competing on a higher level so they're kinda down at the bottom right now. Some of the other schools have been competing longer and know that bigger productions get them more points.

Some of the other schools have been competing longer and know that bigger productions get them more points. that would be hard to move up. We're still in one of the smaller divisions with only 50 kids or so in our band. It means they can concentrate on musicality and good field movement without all the extra stuff. Our kids were very precise and confident. It made them fun to watch.

We're still in one of the smaller divisions with only 50 kids or so in our band. It means they can concentrate on musicality and good field movement without all the extra stuff. Our kids were very precise and confident. It made them fun to watch. I can see that happening here. I know we don't have the budget that these other schools have. Some of these schools had those tubas that they hoist up on their shoulder, not the traditional wrap-around ones. Those look expensive and flashy. We're a medium sized school, on the lower end of the flight's range with 136 kids in the band/guard. One school we watched had at least 30 kids in the color guard. It is impressive, especially when they all are on point and sound good too. While I wish our band had gotten more points, it was an improvement from their last competition. There was another school in their flight that I thought should've placed first, not the one with the bigger production. DS was telling me that there is another school that had been part of this competition for 5 years now and it took them 4 years to make it to the state finals.

That is a LOT of bracelets. What do you do with them? I have some in one of our flea market booths. Also taking some to craft shows and holiday shopping events. I will probably donate some too.

Wow they grew up fast! Also loving your new avatar and haircut! Am I late or is it a new change? Yes, they most definitely do! I can't believe they're going to be 11 already. And thank you!! It is a new change, especially the color.

lucyg, what a beautiful place to live!! epeanymous, your family is gorgeous. That baby is squeezable. Is the dress she's wearing while ruining everyone's dining experience one made by you? It was! She is growing so fast -- that thing was huge on her when she was born.

And here is me. My hair was super long and of course, blond. I had it all cut off last week and dyed red. I wish the hair color came out a bit darker, but overall I am happy with it. Attachments:
