I started seeing somebody recently and it all just connects with him...
This morning I texted him that he was in one of my dreams last night. He replied that he was honored and has been thinking of me too. Big grin moment for me.
It's so nice (and perhaps a first for me!) to be liked and wanted by somebody as much as I like and want them.
He does something every day that makes me smile... *le sigh*

My son helping me with dinner, with no complaints. He's 10 and really enjoys helping in the kitchen. We had chicken fajitas tonight and he loved pounding the chicken. A typical interchange during the process... Me: Would you set the table? Son: Of course, why wouldn't I? What plates should we use? *warm fuzzies*

My youngest DD was in a car accident yesterday. Both cars were written off but somehow, amazingly, they both walked away with bruising and nothing more. Today I'm smiling because she's here, sitting on the couch taking it easy, and is basically unhurt

My daughters and I talked about and shared memories of my late husband while we were out shopping today and none of us cried. We smiled and laughed a lot. It was a good day.

I saw a standard Poodle being lead by a lady on a bicycle. The Poodle was wearing black boots. This made me smile
I got a compliment at work today from someone who normally doesn't give praise which made my day.

I completely agree. It makes it seem worth it to post. I feel as if someone listened and liked what I wanted to say. I smile every time that I see someone has liked my posts. I'm not sure why, but I guess it feels good to know that someone took the time to read my thoughts.

Ratatouille and blackberry cake. Yum! I had no idea blackberry cake existed until this moment! I tried a new recipe. It is similar to a giant muffin - baked in an iron skillet. The blackberries are sprinkled on top and sink as the cake bakes.

Just a few ingredients and I really liked it.

It was our last school day before summer break today so I had to say goodbye to some lovely children, it's always sad but it's so lovely to see how much they've grown & how much they've accomplished. Selfishly, it's always lovely when they say they'll miss you.
Also constantly smiling since our Head called me into her office to tell me I'd been successful at interview this morning (tough on the last day of term!) & I've got a promotion! Might smile for a while over that one!

Rode my bike to work, something I do often. It was hot out today, hottest day of the summer (not that its been that hot so far). My 17 yo ds texted me to be careful riding home and to take it slow because it was hot out. Made me smile. He actually does like me and worries about me.
What made me smile yesterday - completed a 62 mile ride. That is the most I've done in one ride so far.

My husband and two teens are playing Left 4 Dead in Disneyland, on their computers. They are shooting up zombies in Splash Mountain, with Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah playing in the background. It's so surreal I can't help but laugh .

Obviously - I live in Iowa - and this week is RAGBRAI - a bike ride sponsored by our major newspaper, the Des Moines Register. RAGBRAI stands for Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa - this is the 42nd year for this event. We hosted 10 people in our home last night and had an absolutely fabulous time! The youngest rider staying with us was 15 and the oldest was 78 - the 78 year old is currently riding her 27th RAGBRAI. The ride starts in the western part of the state, and there are host communities along the way each day, of which we were one this year. The ride ends on the eastern border of the state. This year the mileage per day is anywhere between 38 and 79 miles. Today was their 79 mile trek - and it was in the 90s and VERY humid here. It made me smile to watch our 78 year old guest take off for a 79 mile bike ride - inspirational!

They've been posting photos of both the amazing people and the beautiful views they've encountered. It seems like quite an event .

Delightful, smart, affectionate, I will have another some day. Growing up, our neighbors had a Standard. She was just what you said-- smart and sweet. Also, quite an athlete. Not fussy or yappy at all. She ran around the countryside with us non stop.

My niece is here. Unfortunately it was also the only free day I had to take my kids school clothes shopping. Mine are a teen girl and a son, so when I walked into Justice she was surprised. I let her pick out a few new things for school. Her face lit up like the Fourth of July when I bought them for her.

My DD had her senior pictures taken yesterday. They posted a "sneak peak" today. She just looks so beautiful and happy that it made me smile. I keep going back and looking at the picture when I need another smile.

My daughter comforting her friend as he was crying because his Dad left this morning to Korea for a year. She didn't say anything to him, just went to him and hugged him and he cried as she was holding him. It was so sweet. My daughter is six years old and her friend is seven.
