I wish I could say it's unbelievable but I can't. He really is the lowest of the low. I just can't get past the fact that his supporters think what he does is acceptable.

He says he wasn't making fun of the reporter. In fact, he doesn't even know what the reporter looks like. And that the reporter actually owes HIM an apology.
Poor Donald. He's treated so unfairly. By everyone. I think we all owe him an applogy.

By everyone. I think we all owe him an applogy. Yeah, poor Donald. I call bullshit on his comment that he doesn't even know what the reporter looks like. How else can a person interpret what he says starting at :28 of the video I linked above? {ETA: A different clip is now at the top of the article but the comment I'm referring to is still on there - he says "you gotta see this guy" immediately before he mocks him.} Truly, I respectfully ask, how can anyone support this guy?

I think he is a giant ass. I have friends on FB who post all day that America will go to hell if you don't vote for Donald. You know, the alarmist types (smh)

I second your assessment, though I would use a stronger word if I could. (I know I'm not an American, but Trump is an absolute disgrace, even on the world stage.)

Sooo, if someone with an intellectual disability were to ask him a question, would he use the R word? Somehow I wouldn't put it past him.
Did you also notice he was orange in the video clip? Has he been fake and baking? Quick Tan? He is really orange!

It certainly does make me question the character of the people who support him. Because one low IQ asshole who says those kinds of horrible and ugly things is unsurprising but to inspire a legion of supporters - well that is something else entirely.

What a disgusting POS he is. I second your assessment, though I would use a stronger word if I could. Yes, I would use a much stronger word also, but not on a public message board. Seriously America, you guys must do whatever necessary to make sure this piece of crap doesn't become POTUS. You will lose all respect from every other country. Although I'm sure there will be those who say "Who cares what other countries think" (as I have seen here several times). PLEASE DON'T LET IT HAPPEN!

What a dickwad. He thinks because he has tons of money he can say whatever he wants and people will believe him. Just total bullshit, and proof that money cannot buy class. One good thing about having another year before the election is that it gives him more time to say stupid shit and more people will realize what an idiot he really is.

He's lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut.
I was reading a NYT piece from a reporter who spent a little time at a recent Trump rally. Some of the things he observed and heard from the supporters were chilling. Just ugly, ugly people.

The best thing that could happen to the Republican party right now is for the schism to be formalized. Trump can take all of these people with him and the party can try to rebuild.

I can't believe I'm about to say this...but I've seen him do that "routine" before, just imitating someone who's flustered and nonprofessional. At least, I think I have. I've certainly seen him do something similar. So there's actually a chance in hell he wasn't mocking that reporter.
I do want to make it clear, though, that it pains me greatly to even remotely defend anything about him. And yes, he is amazingly orange in that video. (There, now I've at least ended this by insulting him. I feel a little better now.)

With VERY few exceptions, I think EVERY politician (from any party) is at least part weasel, if not mostly weasel. Unfortunately, to stay in office, you have to be. The thing is that most politicians spend a big part of their time trying to hide their weasel nature, or insist that they don't have one. Trump puts his own display, proudly, and we're commending him for it. I just don't get it. Regardless of if you agree with his politics, why would you want to throw your support who is unashamed about being a disgusting human being? Why does anyone's conscience let them support someone who so clearly has no character at all? Why do we want to give anyone of poor character any authority?
This came up at lunch. My FIL suggested that maybe people are drawn to the "This is who I am. Deal with it." Attitude. I don't think that's reason enough to vote for him but it's the first idea I heard that made one lick of sense.

I find it hard to believe that he held his right hand, at a close replica of the reporter's disabled hand, and had no prior knowledge of the reporter's disability. Nope, not buying it for one second. I'm not surprised in the least though, given what he has said about some women's physical appearances. The thing is, darned near the entire world knows what a tool Trump is, yet he still has people who say they will vote for him. That is the stumper for me. What kind of person would be proud to say they voted for this fool? It baffles my mind.

I am deeply disturbed by how he keeps expressing such deeply disturbing and offensive comments with seeming impunity. For someone who is running for the highest political office in our country, who will be charged with overseeing the rights of ALL the citizens, I expect a high standard of behavior.
I get that people are feeling distanced from our government right now and wanting someone who doesn't represent the 'status quo' and is willing to say those things that aren't 'politically correct' but Mr. Trump doesn't just eschew political correctness-he is taking racism, misogyny, and ridicule of others into a public forum. When someone of note does that, it gives tacit approval to others who have that same mind set to let their own offensive beliefs become more public. THAT is what is so disturbing.
While I am not really all that thrilled with any of the choices this election season, Donald Trump and his volatile and bigoted statements are not what we, as a country, need to represent us on the world stage.
If nothing else, can you imagine what would have happened if he had been in charge these last couple of days while trying to manage the situation with the Turkey shooting down the Russian plane? A calming influence he isn't, and he wouldn't be allowed to pop off with disparaging remarks-by the time he came back to claim that wasn't what he said (his typical MO) we would already be on the verge of WWIII.

I am deeply disturbed by... ...YOUR NEW AVATAR! No, really, it's cute. I just get thrown by new avatars. I saw it, thought, "Hmm, who's this?," started reading, thought, "Hmm, she's smart," and then finally looked at the name. (So yes, I'm both chiding and complimenting you.) (My feelings about Mr. Trump are significantly less ambivalent.)

He is a creep. But are "real" people supporting him? We're in a republican majority area and I don't know anyone who supports him.
I feel like we're all being punked, or he's bought all the outlets to report he's in the lead. Can't believe he's still going...

No, you really don't. I cannot imagine how world leader summits, negotiations etc would unfold with him as your president. I can remember joking about this some months ago, never seriously considering he'd get this far. Now it's looking scary.....I can't imagine how it must be for you!!!
