Completely a fluff post here! Everyone gave me some great ideas for laundry detergents/fabric softeners a few weeks ago on my laundry thread. (I have been using Gain with Sparkle (blue lid) softener suggested by one of the peas and I love the way the clothes smell!!) It actually made me look forward to doing laundry! Now I am looking to try a new cleaning spray for counters and thought I would ask the peas for their favorites. I use Fantastik and would love to try something different. Something with a lemon or citrus scent is a plus, but let me know any that you love! I love to walk into a clean/good smelling kitchen/bathroom. And something new may give me the incentive to get this messy house clean. Also, any favorite floor cleaners for tile and hardwood? We used one brand on the tiled kitchen floor and the house smelled good all day. Can't remember the brand, but our stores don't sell it anymore. I have a hardwood floor cleaner that has an orange scent that smells good too, but we only have a little hardwood in our house.

I found something at the dollar store not too long ago looking for something to clean our tile shower. I can't remember the name right now, but will look when I get home and update. IT WORKS GREAT IN THE SHOWER>FABULOUS I TELL YOU! Just spray and let it sit a few minutes then I just wipe off the walls with a wet rag so there's no residue. No scrubbing at all. Best stuff I've ever used but the smell is super strong when you first spray it. After it's on a few minutes the smell subsides then it just smells bleach-y clean.

There is a product called AWESOME! at the dollar store. It is amazing. It would take off pencil, crayon, marker, etc. off the kids' tables at school. I wouldn't use it on my granite at home, but I tell you, it was awesome!

I like method products. I really hate the smell of chemical/harsh cleaners. I use a mint scented bathroom cleaner and wood for good for dusting, although the previous formulation was better. I also use their all purpose spray, alternated with a spray from honest company or diluted Dr Bronners citrus Castile Soap.

Ever since I found a mixture of hot water, Dawn and peroxide was a miracle in cleaning my old camper before I sold it, I use it on almost everything, just varying the ratios for each purpose. I love that it doesn't have a harsh or chemically smell, too. You just can't premix it, but I don't mind.

Here's a few homemade cleaners I've tried and liked:
Essential Oil cleanser
3/4 cup water 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol 5 or 10 drops essential oil 1 squirt dish soap
Vinegar and vodka disinfectant
1/2 cup white vinegar 1/2 cup vodka 10 drops lavender essential oil 10 drops lemon essential oil 1 1/2 cups water
ETA: for floors, I like Method's Good for Wood. It smells incredible. I used to use Method's tile cleaner in my kitchen, but can't find it anymore. Now I use a Bona tile spray.

All my counter tops are Quartz and when they were being installed my installers recommended I use 409 to clean them.

I just found Bar Keepers Friend cleanser which is awesome! I read about it on Pinterest. I've had a rusty water stain on my bathtub since I moved into my house 7 years ago and nothing would get rid of it. Some Bar Keepers Friend and barely any elbow grease and the stain was gone!

Within the last week I've joined a very active FB group called Laundry Love & Science. These folks talk all day about their favorite products. Here's what I've learned so far:
- my house is clearly an abysmal mess - some people have way too much time on their hands - these people know their cleaning supplies - I'm going to drop some money buying more products
Heads up if you'd like to join: there was a kerfluffle today (I missed it) and the admins put out a big apology tonight and stated that they are not adding new members at the moment until they can regroup. I'm guessing it will be a quick hiatus though.
