We did, just because DH had heard that statistic and refused to be part of it. Exactly this. I mentioned it to DH and he said there was no way we were not going to.

We were exhausted and we had gratuitous sex

We didn't----I was so exhausted that I took off my dress and went to take a "tubbie" and get pretty. DH fell asleep waiting for me. I promise I wasn't that long. It was a stressful day.

all I remember is that we were both very sick and exhausted. we spent the first week of the honeymoon being sick (stayed at a friend's house)...and then had a week to enjoy ourselves.

We actually did not. We waited for the next morning. We were so exhausted. I think it was a good choice.

You know, I think it can go both ways. If you are already having sex, then you may not see a reason to have sex that night just because it's your wedding night and if you waited to have sex, you might figure, "Hey, we waited this long, let's wait just a few hours more and be in a better state to enjoy it."

We didn't.....in fact, we didn't even sleep in the same bed that night. No worries though, that was over a quarter century ago and we've shared the same bed since.

I agree that since the vast majority of couples are active before marriage, it's not a big deal to them. We waited, so...

No we didn't because we were so freaking tired by the end of the night we just wanted to go to bed.

I find it ironic that I'm giving up my "throbbing member" status to respond to this!
I've been married twice and didn't have sex on my wedding night either time!

we did. got pregnant from it, too, even tho we had been living together for almost 3 yrs at that point. we had decided to be celebate for a couple months prior to make it special, and in that time agreed I would stop taking BC pills. then, first time out of the gate, bam.

^^ LOL ^^ Typically I'm not big on sharing info about my sex life, but this question seemed pretty tame to me.
