I am interested and also feel like 2x per month would be more my speed.

Well I just tried out a new recipe. Lobster tails were on sale at our grocery store this week, so I made lobster bisque. I had pinned a couple recipes and just did a combination of both. Very easy, really good.

One of my resolutions the last couple of years is to try one new recipe every week. I usually start off really well but then start to taper out after a couple of months. OK, a couple of weeks! Would anyone be interested in doing a challenge where we have to try one new recipe each week (or each month if you don't think you'd be able to commit each week)? I have so many cook books and DSO is trying to get me to get rid of them because he thinks I never use them. He's 99% correct! I think if we had a challenge going, where we shared our new recipes each week, I might just be able to stick to it. Is anyone in? Sure! I need to clean out my cookbooks. I actually do try a decent number of new recipes...but pretty much find them all online. I have an entire cabinet of cookbooks and didn't open one last year. But maybe I'll make my goal to use a cookbook for a new recipe, and if I can't find one I want - the book disappears. I'm also doing WW, so I need nutrition info. But I hate to get rid of those "church lady" cookbooks! I'll make the cookbook cabinet a project this week. Sigh.....

I'm in! I used to cook 5 nights a week but the last few months I'm lucky to cook once a month. This is perfect for getting me back on track.

I love this idea. I was in a recipe rut a few weeks ago, so my solution was to try one of those weekly meal subscription services (Blue Apron). After three weeks we cancelled because a lot of the same ingredients kept showing up each week (kale!!). So now I'm back to being in a recipe rut so this is perfect timing!

My DH made something new this morning, but I'm not counting it since it was his idea and he made it. I want to do the challenge myself.

I'm game but I also don't know if I can keep up every week. I'd be willing to try though

Great idea! My least favorite chore is anything having to do with cooking. Anything to help make it more fun would be great.
My family never has good ideas for meals. I try pinterest and have found great recipes on there, but because of so many pictures on a food blog, my computer doesn't like it. I have tried to stop looking up recipes online.

Not sure about once a week but once a month sounds doable. I was just looking online to ind some new recipes to try. I have already printed up 5 that I really want to try.

I just created a new Pinterest board especially for this. I'm positive I at least have the ingredients in the house to try some kind of bread recipe this weekend.

I would love to do 2x per month. I am in a rut and need some new ideas. Healthy would be good and simple would be better. I love to cook but with my ds having basketball 7 days per week, my time in the kitchen is limited!

I always made one or two new recipes a week. Loved to cook with the kids and DH. Kids are all gone and I've lost my cooking mojo for the most part. DH cooks now more than I do. I did make 4 new recipes this week, though. I will try to participate as well.

This is something new that I made in Dec. It is super easy if you have everything prepped. I used less oil the second time I made it. Chicken marsala

I'm in. I try to do it each year and have added several recipes to the rotation. Does it have to be a main dish, or can it be a new side or dessert?

Count me in for once a week. I've been trying to find new, healthier recipes that taste good. Sometimes we get in a rut of the same thing. I'd love to see other people's recipes too!

I told my 11 year old DS about this and he thinks we should totally do it. He's my little chef in training! I think a weekly thread would be great and people can participate weekly, biweekly, or monthly whatever works for them!

Did I miss another post about this - I have actually tried two new recipes this week and so far so good. DH wasn't as thrilled as DS who I was surprised liked them as much as he did. Both recipes had wine in them as I am trying to put a dent in our wine collection LOL. So far I would make both or them again.

Made this yesterday for dinner: Three Cheese Beer SoupIt was good. However, not worth the effort it took to make it. If I'm going to spend that much time making soup, it is going to be potato soup.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post, but here's my first new recipe that I've made this year. I used my Vegetti Spiralizer for the zucchini - the recipe was excellent! I really loved the kick of lemon, instead of the heavy butter taste that would come with a typical shrimp scampi. I'll definitely make it again! Shrimp Scampi Zoodles for Two

Mine was really rather simple. I made cauliflower rice to eat with a stir fry and actually...it wasn't bad. LOL I'd definitely make it again although I think I do prefer my cauliflower roasted.

These are the two recipes I have made. Beef Bourguignon IIThis was good but I did have to add some water to the pot at the two hour mark - I am so glad I came downstairs when I did or we wouldn't have been able to eat it. I just added a bunch of water and let it continue to cook. We don't do mushrooms and I didn't have any pearl onions so just used regular ones. and Angel Chicken PastaThe second one has cream of soup in it (I know I may have my Pea membership revoked but well it is what it is - I figure once or twice a year isn't going to kill us - I only had cream of chicken, I also only had regular cream cheese and added some fresh green onions and didn't have the dressing mix so used Italian seasoning and dried chives. I don't normally switch up a new recipe this much but was trying to use what I had on hand and use up some wine. I used a stronger wine than what I would if I made it again but again I was using up what I had and had an open bottle.
