I watched The Voices with Ryan Reynolds a couple of days ago. It is a very dark humor movie about a guy who hears voices coming from his pets. And he also kills people. It was weird. I’m not sure if I recommend it or not. That’s how strange it was. I’m not sure how old it is.

I just came home from watching "The Kitchen". Good movie with a lot of swearing and it was messy/bloody. McCarthy, Haddish & Moss were great in their roles. Did you really like it? I was planning to see it but it got terrible reviews, I was bummed because I really like all three of them.

Yesterday was wonderful. I'll see anything made by 'Working Title'.

I just came home from watching "The Kitchen". Good movie with a lot of swearing and it was messy/bloody. Thanks - I suspected as much - I am glad to know. Just got home from seeing The Art of Racing in the Rain. My sister has asked me to go see this - I don't know if I can handle it. After I saw "A Dog's Journey" - even though I read the book and knew the premise and it ended nicely, I sat in the parking lot and cried for a full 10 minutes so not sure I could handle the Art of Racing in the Rain (haven't read the book but did read a spoiler). I saw "The Peanut Butter Falcon" last night - it was such a sweet movie. I love movies where misfits kind of come together to form their own family...kind of a buddy film with a Huckleberry Finn kind of feel to it.

I bawled like a baby in Marley & Me but this movie handles it perfectly. The dog lives a long and happy life and is ready for the next life.

We went on a movie binge this weekend (thank you AMC A List!!)
On Friday, we saw Where'd you go, Bernadette? It was billed as a comedy so I went in with the wrong expectation as it was more than that. There are funny moments, sad moments, and a lot in between. It was very good and we both liked it.
On Saturday, we saw The Kitchen. This was the movie I was looking forward to seeing the most this summer...until I saw the terrible reviews. We went anyway with much lower expectations and it was fine. Except for one character, the acting was good. The writing was weak but there was a cool twist at the end.
On Sunday, we saw Blinded by the Light. By far, the best movie I've seen a in while. It has everything and more.

Just got back from seeing Where'd You Go Bernadette? We loved it! It was funny, sad, quirky and just a delight! Cate Blanchett is so talented. The young actress playing her daughter was wonderful. Actually, all the actors did a great job.

Just saw The Farewell which was very good. I thought it was based on a book since it seemed familiar. It is based on a story from This American Life.

We saw Angel has Fallen today. We both really liked it. Lots of action as expected with a fairly predictable storyline but still fun.

I saw Angel has Fallen this weekend too. I was throughly entertained. I thought Nick Nolte stole the show.

We saw The Peanut Butter Falcon this past weekend and enjoyed it.. it's one of those off-the-beaten-path movies that I think is going to do very well.
One of you said it was like Huckleberry Finn, but we thought it was more like Of Mice and Men. Very well cast and edited, as well. That porn actress Iforgetername was in it -- oh, Dakota Johnson -- girl can actually act. I guess 50 Shades did for her what Basic Instinct did for Sharon Stone.
Anyway I'm pretty sure I can recommend Peanut Butter Falcon for families. Some violence and such but nothing too harsh.

With summer vacations and crazy schedules, we are so behind on movies right now. I finally saw Yesterday and loved it. I went with a gf since both of our SOs dislike the Beatles. I think they would have enjoyed it though - it wasn't really about the Beatles.

Layce We saw a couple of ads for this on TV over the past week and it's on our list of movies to see if it plays at one of the theaters we go to. I think they would have enjoyed it though - it wasn't really about the Beatles. They might have...I am not the biggest Beatles fan and enjoyed it. DH is Beatles fan and it was his one of his favorite movies of the summer.

Ok here’s one. My boys really wanted to see the Dora the Explorer movie. I said I’ll go if you pay your own way. It was surprisingly enjoyable!
There were a lot of good reviews for it, other than reviewers who never watched the show or didn’t have kids who watched it. They totally missed who the target audience is - teens/young adults who watched as children, and their parents.
At the very first you knew it was going to be different. There’s a disclaimer from foxes that they are not as portrayed in the movie. It totally pokes fun at itself. Dora’s parents reacting to her breaking the fourth wall, and some of the ways she does it, is pretty funny. Other characters responding to her singing all day long... 😂
The plot was average teen movie with a Raiders of the lost ark vibe. Watch if you’d like the nostalgia. Don’t watch if Dora made you want to poke your eyes out. We liked Dora so we enjoyed it.

We finally saw Avengers Endgame last night and I liked it. I have seen most of the Marvel movies, but not all. Have to say, I am surprised after all this time I have never heard any spoilers.

I love horror movies. Especially campy ones. We went to see Ready or Not because the reviews said it was funny. It was not. The premise was interesting, the execution of it was meh and I think they waisted the main actor's talents.

Watched Angel Has Fallen last weekend and we really enjoyed it! Nick Nolte was the surprise scene stealer of the movie. good to see him back on the big screen. This movie was a fun way to cap off the summer action movies.

I saw a couple of movies this weekend as my local (favorite) theater had $5.00 movies for the whole weekend.
1. Angel Has Fallen. I enjoyed it. Predictable but decent. 2. Shaw and Hobbs. Same. But way more action. The little girl was adorable. And the Rock. Swoon.

We just got back from seeing Ready or Not a very dark comedy/horror/thriller. It wasn't very scary but we laughed a lot at the absurd.

DH and I saw Good Boys today. Not my usual cup of tea, but man, I adored it. This coming of age movie was very funny, and very sweet; I was alternately laughing out loud (LOL!) and tearing up. It's a shame that this movie is rated R because the tweens it portrays aren't even able to see it without a parent. And I think they would love it and find it meaningful. The message it sends about friendship between the three boys is very special and something you NEVER see in typical kid movies.
The R rating comes from frequent F-bombs from the three main characters, who are 6th grade boys. And drugs and sex toys are featured prominently; however the boys aren't using them, but trying to get rid of them, and the general message about drugs (except for a few sips of beer) is that they are bad, and the boys are still very innocent in sexual matters.
Despite the above, I would have taken DS to this movie when he was in middle school in a heartbeat.

We finally watched John Wick 3 tonight. I have been waiting and waiting to watch this. Was so geeked after the 2nd one (which I Love).
I didn’t love it. I thought it was too long with not enough plot. It started off good. But then it was just action sequence after action sequence. And no story. I don’t care for Halle Berry, and her scenes felt superfluous to me. Same with most of the scenes of the guy from the original Iron Chef show. Didn’t like his fan-boying at all.
I am glad we didn’t go see this in the theater. I would have been annoyed.

You thought it was her first acting gig. So poorly acted. I agree worth the Iron Chef guy too. His fanboy moment was weird. I thought Angelica Houston and Lawrence Fishbourne were great though. I still like the franchise and look forward to the next one.
