He's 72 years old! I just hope to be vertical let alone make an attempt to dance. Yes, he kinda stood there and moved his hips. Bruno called him out on his lack of movement!

Val has had two winning partners now so it's just assumed he gets the best dancing celebs. Did they know in advance Ginger would be so good? Guess they audition the celebs. Kind of spoiled things for me, now I know she's the surprise best dancer.
I'm rooting for Wanya and Kim. Marla will always be a homewrecker to me.

I didn't get to watch it, but their have been several older contestants Cloris Leachamn was 82 when she was on, Buzz Aldrin was 80, Florence Henderson was 76, Billy Dee Williams was 76, Betsey Johnson was 71, and Tommy Chong was 75. Most of them were pretty stiff and didn't last very long on the show.

Seemed like she always got a bad one, Keo also seems to get stuck with bad ones. Keo doesn't strike me as a very good teacher. He is supposed to be making his partner look good, and he seems more concerned with making himself look good. Tony gets bad partners every time, but he makes them look better. And I am rooting for Nyle, because holy crap, I want to see that man shirtless on my tv every week for the rest of the season. |

I'm only half way through but - Geraldo was just .... omg ... .SO bad!!! That was my first thought too, they finally bring Edyta back & thats what she gets stuck with?!!
And I liked Nyle a lot on ANTM too, seemed like a pretty classy guy. I hope he stays awhile
Rumour has it that Len would only come back if Julianne was taken off the judging panel. Len is a much better choice IMO!

Nyle was on Americas Next Top Model..... And he was such a cool guy. I love how he is drama free. I also love his eyes, his stomach and his 5 o'clock shadow. I may actually have to watch DWTS this season! As for Geraldo, I must confess that I stopped watching the show when they let Cloris stay on way past her time. This is Dancing With the Stars, not Who Can Be Cute as They Get Older. If your dancing is not up to snuff, then out you should go. While I didn't see Geraldo, I'm guessing my feeling would be the same. I don't care how old you are. If you can't keep up w/the dancing, then you're out. Before I get off my soapbox, I will also state that anyone w/a career that involves some form of dance (can you say Kristi Yamaguchi?) should not be allowed to be a contestant. It should be all novices. There. I'm done. I will tune in to watch Nyle, though. |

I have seen some amazing performances on the show but I always hate that they seem to include one person who can barely walk in each group, as well as some who def. have a huge advantage due to their other career or experience. Geraldo is not the worst I've seen... but some have been really bad.
I loved, loved, loved watching Bindi Irwin and Rumer Willis on recent seasons. Just fantastic, gorgeous dancers!
One thing I really dislike about the show is that it is largely a popularity contest and sometimes really great dancers have to leave while others stay....

Geraldo is not the worst I've seen... but some have been really bad. I know - while I give them all credit for having the guts to put themselves out there....Geraldo was pretty bad - no rhythm what-so-ever. I thought that Wayna Morris was really good. While not the same as ballroom dancing, he has had to learn dance steps and routines a lot as a member of Boys II Men, so he has a bit more of an advantage I think then someone like Mischa Barton.
However, I can see how it would be difficult to find "stars" that are fairly all equally matched with dance experience.
It seems like it would be really hard for Von Miller and Whitney to dance due to such a height difference.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Mischa Barton. Good heavens. Not only was she worse than Doug Flutie and Geraldo put together, she looked like a bitch doing it. At least Geraldo and Flutie looked like they were having fun. (Not to mention that she said she had "lots of dance experience.")

There should be a double elimination immediately. There is no way Flutie and Rivera can improve enough to advance. It didn't even look like they were trying.

I was hoping Doug would make it to at least the most memorable year dance, but I'm pretty sure that's just not going to happen. I always feel bad for the pros that get voted off early...it's got to be awful for their professional egos. All that Debbie downer stuff aside (  ), I AM glad to see that Keo has a pretty decent partner this year. I think he'll be around longer than usual this season! |
