What a darling picture. I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. I know how you feel I lost my sister 5 1/2 years ago. Like you, I thought she would always be here for me.

Would you share some of your favorites about your sister? I'm sure we'd love to hear them. Aw, you are so sweet. I have millions of stories ~ what sisters don't ~ but I'll try to think of a few favorites. Karla was in the Junior Miss Hawaii Pageant in 1962/63 ~ it was her senior year. When they were calling the numbers of the semi-finalists she started clapping not realizing it was HER number. I was sitting in one of the first few rows and cried like a baby. I've told this story before but Bette Midler was her *talent* coach ~ Karla did a dramatic interpretation of Thornton Wilder's Our Town. Bette was the voice offstage. Karla couldn't sing, dance or play an instrument so Bette taught her a talent. When we would go looking to buy greeting cards we would look at the ones that were a tad risque and would start laughing to the point of almost peeing in our pants. That memory makes me smile. When DH proposed he told me to take my time, he didn't need an answer right away. Of course I called Karla long distance and told her. Unbeknownst to me, she and my 15 year-old niece went out and bought long dresses at Macy's just in case I said yes. They ended up being my two attendants and wore those dresses. Thanks, MissLizzie, for giving me the opportunity to reminisce about Karla. ETA: I thought of a funny one that involved our husbands. We were playing Pictionary years ago with a few other couples, Karla and her DH. Women versus the men. I drew a straight line and Karla yells *hamburger*. And she was correct. Our husbands just looked at each other, shook their heads and said we couldn't be on the same team ever again.

I am so sorry. I know how you feel, I lost my sister 5 1/2 years ago (she was only 52) , then my mom almost exactly a year later. Its gotten easier, but it's still difficult not having the two women I relied on all my life no longer with me. Big hugs to you.... Lauren, my mom passed away 10 years before my sister ~ both from Alzheimer's Disease. My mom was our best friend too ~ Daddy was too, but you know what I mean. I've always said the hardest thing is not having anyone who has my childhood memories. I'm sorry you lost your mom and sister. You sister was so young. My sister was 59. Big hugs back... I totally agree about the childhood memories. I have no other living family (other than my adult son). I so miss reminiscing with my mom and sister. Now I don't know if memories I recall are "real" or not, kwim?

Now I don't know if memories I recall are "real" or not, kwim? I have probably the best memory of anyone I know. At my high school 45th reunion people were constantly coming up to me to ask about things that happened in high school. But occasionally I'll think of something that happened and would like to talk about it with someone else. One thing I regret is not asking my dad more about the Korean Conflict. He told me stories about WWII but not about Korea.

Big hugs heading your way. Got them, thanks. I really want to thank all the Peas for their heartfelt hugs, thoughts and best wishes. So many of us have lost a beloved sibling. There is a special bond we shared and I'm sending hugs to those who, for whatever reason, have not had that in their life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It was the three year anniversary of my brother's death last week and I know how sentimental that makes me. I had almost a whole day of crying last week. So I understand. Hugs to you.
