My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer last fall. She had surgery and is now taking a drug to target the genetic mutation that she has. A few months ago she had a follow up ft scan and they saw a spot on her liver and rib. About a month ago they did a more detailed Ct scan and saw a new spot on her lung. They said it had grown faster than cancer typically does, although her cancer has been tested and is pretty aggressive. Anyway, they treated her with antibiotics and did a PET scan last week. She had her appt Today and the spot on her lungs is gone and the other spots appear to be non-cancerous. Yay! Just had to share since I don't have many people IRL that I talk to about this.

My mom passed away from lung cancer 27 years ago, so I love hearing good stories like this. It is such a difficult cancer to battle. Take her out for lunch when she feels better and just enjoy being together!

[ Did she actually have cancer or an infection that was misdiagnosed, since antibiotics took care of it? I am a little confused by your post. Either way, I am glad she is ok!

So the new spots were infections? Hopefully that means no new occurrence of the cancer? Anyway... excellent news!
