I enjoyed it. Didn't need to see her butt shaking. Jessica Sanchez was amazing! I enjoyed that entire set. At times I would have thought I was watching a Disney production since it was so well put together. I wondered how Ryan would handle it. I expected some sort of different ending though.
I'm glad Trent one. He didn't really stand out to me until the last few shows. I was hoping they'd release his version of Chandelier. Bummed that it wasn't.

I will have to say that I was slightly shocked that LaPorche didn't win. She is my kind of singer but I thought every time she hot the stage she did a flawless amazing judge. I am sure we will hear from her again soon. Trent was so humbled by the win. It was really sweet to watch. I actually enjoyed Jennifer's act minus the butt jiggling. I loved all the Vegasy feathers and headdress. I agree w/everything you said. Since her ass antics were at the end, that's what stuck in my head. When you mentioned the feathers stuff, it reminded me that I liked that part of it, too. ETA: Thanx for the link, kimpossible. I can totally understand not being able to get away from a movie shoot, but he could have left out the part where he told us he wasn't really watching because he's so busy. Lots of people are busy. Doesn't make you special honey. Zip it. And that he didn't have anyone text him the results. Come on. He probably has someone fetching his bottled water and he couldn't have the person tell him? Lame.

After the sign off, when Ryan was all emotional and the credits were rolling, did anyone else hear him say "for now"? Like it wasn't REALLY the end of Idol? It was kind of weird and made me wonder if we'd be seeing a new incarnation of the show down the road.

Also, did you see him take a deep breath after it was all over? Like he was glad he didn't break down in tears.

I had seen an interview with him where he had said he was concerned about the emotions he would feel at the end. He also talked about working on other things. I would not be surprised to see him come out with a new permutation of the reality talent show.

I thought for sure he was going to lose it, but he did a good job of keeping it together.

I just finished watching the Finale and that was one of the most enjoyable tv events I've seen in years. The amount of money and planning that it must have taken to pull that off must have been staggering. The numbers were so well arranged, performed and choreographed, I was surprised. The Oscars and the Grammy musical numbers aren't nearly as well done.
I will miss the show. I almost quit it during the Nicki Manaj / Mariah season - that was just painful. But they struck gold when they settled on Keith, JLo and Harry as the judges - it was a perfect balance and you could trust the feedback they gave. I wish they gave them another 3-5 years.
I think that it was a special show in that it truly was family friendly - I always loved hearing about contestants growing up watching it with their parents. My younger son loved watching it with me.
Sigh. All good things come to an end.
Eta: I thought La'Porsha was going to win, but I voted for Trent. I loved watching his transformation.
