I don't post here much but do read threads. Our surrogacy agreement came to a halt due to health concerns with our friend and the ethics committee wouldn't agree to try a second transfer (first failed last September). So, we are going to try ourselves despite risks and have been to some appointments with medical teams who will be assisting us. They are very supportive and positive and think we can manage the health issues that arise. We saw our IVF dr today and are ready to start medication for an embryo transfer after my cycle starts. They have had three successful pregnancies at my transplant clinic so far and my transplant doctor thinks I can do as well as those 30 year olds (I'm 40). I have nothing to compare it to so we'll see. Obviously it's a lot of hard work and we still expect an early delivery around 28 weeks or so - just hoping our embryo takes to its new environment and we don't have to look at other options again. Gilly.

All the best to you both Gilly, I hope that it all works out for you. I'll be keeping everything crossed!
Did you ever see the RPA episode where the girl who has CF had a baby? It was one of the most emotional (in a happy way) episodes that I had seen. I think she's since had a transplant too. Her daughter is about 10yo now. I'm hoping that for you too.

Good luck The road of infertility struggles is difficult along with other health issues but I hope you get your desire for a child sooner than later. It can also be very trying on a couple so make sure to help support each other and try to have fun along the way with dates and such where you don't talk about it. We struggled for both kids but it eventually worked. I hope you have a similar outcome.
