I admit, I follow no one here. I have peas that I love to read their posts, but I lean toward creepy for following someone. I also think that for the most part, I try to fly under the radar. I avoid controversy, most political threads, etc. I just try to keep my participation on peas very positive, as this is my happy place. Well, this morning I got a notification that someone is following me. And the weird part is that it seems to be some kind of fake pea name too. It's almost like randomly generated letters and numbers to make up the user name. So I'm feeling even more creeped out by that, as it's not even a regular pea I know. Am I being silly? Is it no big deal to be followed?

Is this a new feature? I never noticed that before, probably because no-one follows me! LOL!
Since you state you do not post controversial topics, most likely someone enjoys reading your posts, so I think in your case, flattering. Albeit a tad creepy since you don't know who is following you, but still flattering.

I don't think I have any followers but there are several peas who I sometimes think I should follow because I tend to have the same thoughts as them. I guess I hesitate because I am not sure what it entails is my inbox going to be flooded with notices probably lol.

I would also be creeped out. I'd probably think my estranged sister-in-law had found yet another way to stalk me on social media.
Is there a feature to block a follower?

I had no idea you could follow someone here Obviously no one follows me I would consider it to be flattering ... I have more than 76,000 followers on Pinterest and I'm flattered

How can you tell if someone is following you?

How many posts does this pea have? I think I'd be more freaked out by a pea who just started posting as compared to one who has been on here a long time.

How can you tell if someone is following you? I have tapatalk installed on my phone and this morning I got a notification from there that I was being followed.

I follow, and am followed, but that feature really doesn't do anything, that I can tell.

Hmmm I don't know I probably wouldn't worry about it..but I don't follow anyone nor to my knowledge does anyone follow me. Guess that's why I don't have any friends on here! (j/k) To have "friends" you have to follow each other.

How exactly is it creepy? What can a follower here do to you? I would just assume they're interested in what you say and give it no more thought.
After viewing your profile it shows that no one is following you.

I have some strangers who follow my photos on Flickr. I found that odd, but I post some animal photos and apparently someone out there loves raccoons, possums and foxes. I would be very annoyed if someone followed me and I got notifications about that.

I think the creepy factor for me is that this person is not listed in the members list for this board. And it seemed like a made up name. It was almost 20 letters and numbers that seemed to be randomly generated. It's not like it was one of my pea friends.

If I understand it, you got a message that said "?? is following you?" I just looked at my profile. It does not mention anyone following me, so I am not sure what happens.

I can't figure out any way to block a follower. You can block anyone, as long as you block their username, they should be blocked. Go to your Profile Click Edit Profile Go to the Privacy tab Put their name in the Member Block List box.

Apparently I follow 1 pea, but had totally forgotten I did that long ago. It is someone that I like, but am horrible with names (especially with some people changing their names like underwear!), so I guess that's why I followed them.
What you get if you follow someone is a list of their latest posts. Go to Profile>Following and you will see a list of their most recent posts. It's something I never use though.

Seriously, it is the weirdest thing.

I guess this means no one is following me. Follow me, love me, CHOSE ME... (Just kidding, I have exactly 6 twitter followers-two of which are my children. I got a bit out of sorts that the other 4 followers are people I don't know. )

What's the point of following someone on a message board? Seems dumb and yeah if it was a name I didn't recognise at all I'd be creeped out by it.

I have accidentally followed a few people and booked marked a bunch of threads when I am just trying to open a thread.
I hate this iphone.

I think this is an example WAY overthinking something.
I had no idea that following someone was even an option here, but honestly, who CARES?
if you are that scared, you probably shouldn't be posting anything on a public message board

I have one follower, and have for at least a year, likely more. It doesn't bother me at all, but I was (and still am) a bit perplexed about it since this person and I have never interacted in a meaningful way (or perhaps at all) as far as I recall.

I can't tell if anyone is following me. but when I was poking around my profile I noticed I can send people gifts of badges. at some point I'm going to give some random person a $2 flaming potato badge lol.
