Change of plans.....I got a text from DD that she and her friend that were both supposed to be here for dinner, picked up some overtime and won't be here, so I will make the stuffed cabbage casserole another night. For tonight, I pulled some turkey slices in gravy out of the freezer and I'll serve it with mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, asparagus, and bread. SunnySmile , add me to the list of lemon cake lovers.

I'm tired of giant cabbage (impulse buy ) taking up so much space in the refrigerator so we're having Deconstructed Stuffed Cabbage Casserole , roasted asparagus, carrots, and corn, applesauce if I feel like rummaging around in the freezer for it (which is highly unlikely), Italian bread, and peanut butter oatmeal and molasses crinkle cookies for dessert. newlywoods03 , good luck to your son and his team! Thanks! This age is so much fun to watch! He loves to play.. Our little lefty

I still have the pound (actually a lb and a third) of ground beef I took out yesterday. So, something with that. Chili rice? Cheeseburger macaroni? Spaghetti and meat sauce? I dunno. Actually, I think cheeseburger macaroni is sounding like a winner. What about Korean beef?

LOL Korean beef would be good when the 7yo is here because he loves it (because, of course, he can add soy sauce). And my birthday twin boy is also a lefty.

No, he goes to tae kwon do four nights a week and it was too stressful trying to keep up with both last year. We're going to try adding cub scouts in the fall, though.

It was a bit of a mixed bag here tonight. My DS's had flag football games from 5-7:30pm, so I picked up some sushi for me to eat by the field. I had a shrimp tempura roll, and an amazing fresh vegetable roll. DH has been SLAMMED at work, so he stayed home to get caught up a little more. DD also decided to stay at home to get a head start on her weekend homework. She was kind enough to put some chicken and fries in the oven and some mixed vegetables in the microwave for everyone but me. I was grateful for her help.

Trixie Bender KelleeM Here's the Lemon Bundt Cake recipe. I didn't get around to making it, I didn't have any lemons. Maybe this weekend. 3 eggs 1 1/2 cups milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled 1 T. lemon extract 1 tsp. salt 2 Meyer lemons or lemons, zested (2 tsp) 3 cups all purpose flour 2 cups granulated sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 recipe Lemon Glaze Lemon Glaze 1 cup powdered sugar 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice (approx.) Mix to drizzling consistency Preheat oven to 325. Coat a 10" fluted tube pan with nonstick spray for baking. In a very large mixing bowl whisk together eggs, milk, oil, butter, extract and zest. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Bake about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rac, 10 minutes; remove from pan, cool completely. Drizzle with glaze. Serves 16
