This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These need to be posted in the body of your message post. LAYOUTS MUST BE HOSTED FROM ANOTHER SITE SUCH AS PHOTOBUCKET. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.
4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Nylene

I noticed yesterday that the leaves are starting to turn in the valley! It's usually much later when we start to see them change. I'm not ready for Fall because Winter comes right behind. Brrrrr! Here is my first layout for this month. I used some OLD mesh that I bought at a LSS years ago. The circles were too bright so I softened them with the mesh. Glad I held on to it. It has a white border but you can't see it here.

Happy August! The Summer is really flying by. My day was slow. I did finish the card for my mil and I will share this weekend. It feels like lemonade and limeade on ice! I know she will love it. Nylene- How fun! I like the mesh and the circles. That was a neat idea and made the layout look extra cool. Corinne- Good to see ya! Waving hi to all you sweet pokey peas. Have a good evening!

Pokeys,
Hi! Happy Saturday! I've been a tad under the weather for a few days, so I've been slacking. I'm trying to get moving today, we are headed to go see the Guardians of the Galaxy movie tonight. Mallory is gone to a sweet 16 party for one of her friends. They rented hotel rooms downtown and are going out to a nice restaurant and shopping. The girls got all dressed up and looked so pretty.
Nylene - I thought the mesh that you used on the Flik's LO looks great on there. The colors are perfect and that really adds some texture to the LO. Very pretty!
I hope that you are all having a great day!
Tina

Hi girls, long time no see. I am back and trying to finish at least one page every weekend. Yesterday I finish this one based at Creative Scrappers. I like the result but I think I got so many colors and so many embellies the pictures disappeared. What do you think? Jeez. The pic is enormous. Sorry about that. Anyone can tip me on how to make it smaller?

Hi, Pokey Peas! Sorry to be MIA, but I have been very busy. We had VBS week before last and I am working to cover for a vacationing therapist at the nursing home where I used to work full-time. In between all that, I have been furiously planning for our upcoming homeschool year. The good news is, I participated in the Iron Scrapper challenges at Scrap Orchard, so I have been scrapping a lot! I'll just share a few with you girls. Nylene-I love the page! The texture and twine really give the page texture. I love the layered circles! Dani B- I LOVE that style of page, but never feel that I pull it off very well. You did an awesome job and that little fella is a cutie! Here are a few of my pages: This layout is about the day Katie used her lunchbox as a rocket for Barbie! This layout is about the time my mom forgot to pack underwear for the girls when they went camping and Anna had to dry out her only pair over the fire! She was so traumatized!

Here are a few of my pages: I know that I would not be scrapping about spiders, but your page is really pretty.
What an imagination Katie has, she looks so proud of her Barbie lunchbox rocket ship.
Hahaha at Annie and the roasted dry undies. Poor thing.
Thanks for sharing your fun colorful pages.

wow did you finish? congrats! what years is that album through? I have not yet finished his book which starts from his birth in 1993. I have just finished all of his Halloween pages which are from 1993 to 2004. All the Easter (Bunny) and Christmas (Santa) pages are also done. I think I am up to 2nd or 3rd grade (individual and class photos), which will then start to include sports (individual and team photos). Still a long ways to go really, to 2011 Ü when he graduated high school.

Still no scrapping for me yet. Kitchen is still partially in boxes, we spent the weekend finishing up some remodeling at my inlaws and we're still dealing with a plumbing issue at our house. FUN TIMES. Everything is just crazy because I've barely been home and when I was, there were plumbers traipsing through. And the kids of course add their own mess to the equation. This summer has been nuts! Hoping to have things calm down soon. I need to get my scrap back on!! I did go to the MAMBI warehouse sale on Saturday. It was ok. I was hoping they would have more recent stuff, but it was all older lines of paper and embellies. Got a good amount of stuff, mostly embellies, as I have enough paper TYVM. Lol. I am now in a spending freeze for the next 3 months. Loved the layouts, ladies. All so nicely done!

Happy Monday! We had some more humid weather over the weekend so I wasn't crazy about that but it did cool off in the evenings and we enjoyed getting out and about.
Ann- So glad to hear you made it to the MAMBI sale. I heard Prima was having a warehouse sale over the past weekend too. It would be nice if theh sold more of their recent items. But I guess they have the sales to get rid of their old stuff. But happy you got some fun things.
Bonnie, Amy, Dani- You girls are really making some lovely layouts. So beautiful!
Tina- How was the movie?
Waving hi to you all and have a super rest of your day.

Hii girls, I am still at the office. Here, in São Paulo has a law that only car plates ending in 1 or 2 cannot circulate until 8PM today (every week). Other days, other numbers. So today I will have to stay here for a while. Thanks for all the compliments you gave me on my LO. But I have to share with you something that happened. Yesterday I made one more LO. But the result was HORRIBLE. I followed a sketch and at the end I hated it so bad, I took the pictures out and throw it away. I hated the paper choice, I hate the colors. It was the first time it happened to me. I was very upset. Such a waste of time! Have this happened with you? I am a beginner and it was my first time. Hopefully next time I will do better.
I love all the LO you guys posted. I will be trying to come more often,

Arrrgh! I had a big long post and lost it. Story of my life! So to try to remember everything.... Dani, I'm so glad you found us. I saw a couple of post from you on other threads, saw the address and hoped that was you and that you'd find us. I love, love, love your layout. Those black and white photos are perfect for that type layout, which is gorgeous. I love all the little individual embellishments. Fabulous job! The mesh on my layout is held on with glue dots placed under the photo and the embellishments so it won't show. Bonnie, what a cute Easter layout. 1993..does that mean the baby is now 21? I love the bunny ears you added to your Snoopy embellishment. I love the whimsical look of this. Your embellishment on your pirate page are amazing. You always do such wonderful cutting. Wow, I am so impressed with your attention to detail. Tina, I hope you are feeling better. Has Olivia gone back to college? I hate to see school get started. Summer is never long enough. Nan, please don't let making that file for me add to your stress. Sounds like you have enough of that right now. Moving kids off to college is a BIG deal. I remember! I hope you get some scrappy time for therapy!! Amy, so nice to see you hopping on. I always love your wonderful layouts that have such great stories behind them. I could hardly look at the spider one, however, (shudder) I know I couldn't take a photo of one. What a brave mama you are! Kelly, be sure to post your card. I was in the pharmacy today and saw a little book that reminded me so much of your art. It was even done by Kelly Ann (forget last name) but it just looked like your art journaling. Made me think of you. Ann, don't worry if you don't have time to scrap. Come chat once in a while to relieve stress. We all go through times that don't allow us to scrap. Did you get your kitchen sprayed? I have such a phobia of spiders, that years ago my DH agreed to have a company come spray 4 times a year. I have only seen a couple of bugs in the past 3-4 years. They do a great job. I know it's probably not very eco-conscious, but it allows me to sleep at night without worrying about bugs. Now SNAKES, I love. We have lots in the area and the little boys come every day or two ringing my doorbell to show me what they caught. They release them, but their moms won't look at them so they come to me. I have warned them not to bring spiders though! Cindy, I hope you liked 5 Guys. It's Steve's fave since they have peanuts! It's a good place to go after Cubs so I don't have to cook dinner. We had a problem today. Dh left for work at about 5:30 and was gone for about 20 minutes and came back. He could not see to drive. It was made worse by being still dark, raining and wet pavement. We were worried about a detached retina. We got in touch with his Macular Specialist and were told to come right in. It turned out to be a problem with his lens. It had slipped down and sideways so he was just seeing the edge of it, not through it. The surgeon who can fix it won't be back in town until next week. He's scheduled for the surgery on the 12th. Between now and then he won't be seeing much. I will still take him to work and back so he can tell others what needs to be done. I guess that's the real benefit of being a consultant and not the Superintendent anymore. They seem to think it will be OK once it's put back into place. What he has been through with his eyes, make mine water just thinking about it. Poor dear! I have finished another layout. I'm loving scrapping these Disney photos. I hope I never run out...but know I will. Sorry for the long post. That's what happens when you miss a few days!!

Dani, did you figure out how to size a layout? You can post it,then go to EDIT (upper right of your post) and then down in left corner PREVIEW, you can grab a corner and make it larger or smaller. Hope that helps. Then you don't have to guess on a size in photobucket or wherever you are posting it. Just size it in the post.
Corinne, I meant to tell you hello! Nice to see your smiling face.

Good morning Pokeys! Happy Tuesday!!! I am feeling all better Nylene, thanks for asking. I am not really the type to stay down for long, I ended up going into the office on Saturday to deal with a situation in our children's shelter, so thankfully the flu passed quickly. Kelly - We liked the movie, it was actually better than we expected it to be...I didn't have a lot of hope for a movie with a talking raccoon. The movie is actually kind of funny. I end up seeing EVERY comic book related movie that ever comes out, my hubby loves them...he is a nerd that way. Dani - The restriction on your travel tied to your license plate number is really interesting...is it to cut down on traffic or pollution? I've made some LO's and projects that I ended up hating...but I always take the approach that it's done, I'm not changing it...and I move on. If there were photos on it that I especially love, I will print another copy and make another LO of it if I feel inspired. I think for me, it's better not to "grade" my work, the other funny thing about it is that someone else may love that LO when they look at your album...I've had that happen too. I really like your LO with the grid design and the tons of embellies, I think it is pulled together beautifully and your little guy is super cute! I did make a LO on Sunday, but I got a new all in one scanner and I can't figure out how to work it. That coupled with the new computer that I got that has Windows 8 (which I truly HATE) is causing me problems. My kids can't even work it right, so it isn't just my normal user error. Well, I need to run, I have exec meetings today and I have to present at the United Way later too. Have a wonderful day ladies! Tina

Good morning everyone! waving HI to you all! Nylene, so sorry to hear about your DHs eye! That has to be so scary, Im glad he turned around and came back. Thats good he has you to take him to and from work, I hope his treatment goes well ((hugs)) Tina, do you work or volunteer in a shelter? If so, that is very admiral of you! My father lived in an orphanage for a few years after his parents died, I know its not the same thing but I have tremendous respect for the people in those positions. Dani, yes I have created pages that were horrible. The 2 below I re-did this weekend and Im still not happy with them! I felt they were too busy first and now they are too plain its like I couldnt find middle ground with these. Also, I LOVE your layout! I feel like these are missing something, if you ladies have a recommendation or think of something I can add let me know! This is the 1st time using mist, should I add more mist to the Mom page? I think I was afraid to go too heavy or too big

Corinne, I love your pages. I left you some comments on your Photobucket account and pinned them to my 8.5x11 Pinterest board. Keep those layouts coming. I love seeing more of that size layout. Did you make your enamel dots?
Tina, I had to chuckle at your trouble with computer and scanner, until I read that your girls can't figure it out either! These new things are just getting so technical and I think I must have skipped the "technical" line when talents were given out. But really, I hope you can figure it out. We want to see your cute layouts.
I have Cub Scouts this afternoon so need to go finish my preparations. It's the last day for one boy which leaves us with just 3. Next month we'll be down to 2. Sometimes a tiny Den is as hard as the years that I had 12. LOL!
I'll check in again tomorrow. Have a great day, all!

Bonnie, what a cute Easter layout. 1993..does that mean the baby is now 21? We had a problem today. Dh left for work at about 5:30 and was gone for about 20 minutes and came back. He could not see. I have finished another layout. I'm loving scrapping these Disney photos. I hope I never run out...but know I will. Thank you Nylene. My DS is 21 now.
Sorry about your husband's eye, how scary. At least he has an appointment to repair it.
Love your Disney page - and YUM, chocolate chip ice cream!

(quoting feature is not working right for me) I not sure what you don't like about your pages, I think they look fine - I like the muted papers you selected. I know nothing about misting and I have none to experiment with. The BBQ page is very cute, especially with the checkerboard PP - definitely gives it a BBQness to it. I feel like these are missing something, if you ladies have a recommendation or think of something I can add let me know! This is the 1st time using mist, should I add more mist to the Mom page?
