Kit Snicket loves to "eat" watermelon, which really just consists of licking it until It disappears. We can't eat watermelon without giving her her own a tiny slice or she will not let you eat in peace. She also likes to help you drink your water if you have a glass and help you eat your otter pops. She is also the only cat I have ever met who does not "meow", but has plenty to say. She chirps and makes talking noises instead of saying meow. She even has a consistent sound she makes when she snuggles me. She also tries to steal scissors and nail clippers and probably has 20 pairs of the nail clippers hidden around the house, she is also the reason we can't do puzzles as she swipes pieces and hides them. That is really interesting! I've heard certain breeds are known for those specific traits (Maine coons, for one), some American bobtails do the talking and chirping (ours does a bit). Is she a Maine coon or other breed or possibly have some in her?

You all have lovely cat stories. My current cat does not have many interesting quirks. He is a gorgeous Siamese who unfortunately is extremely stupid. He licks plastic bags. And he drools. He eats cat food and uses the litter box and has finally learned that if he stares at the birds in their cages, our corgi will chase him away from the birds. He's really not very interesting. I have had cats that did the adorable things many of you mentioned -- trying to climb walls, playing fetch, following you around everywhere, and talking -- but the cutest thing any cat of mine ever did was to have its own toy cat. It was a Beanie Baby that mildly resembled Oslo, the cat who owned him. At some point, my daughter tied a piece of red yarn around the Beanie Baby's neck, and like Frosty the Snowman's magical top hat, apparently the Beanie Baby came to life for Oslo. We called it Oslo's Wubbie. Oslo would carry his Wubbie everywhere with him except the litter box. He very consciously left the Wubbie out of there. Otherwise, Wubbie went everywhere with Oslo, and when Oslo ate, he would put the Wubbie next to his dish and very carefully place the end of the red yarn in the food dish. When he drank, he would put the red yarn in the water dish. When he cleaned himself, he would clean Wubbie. When he slept, he slept with his little kitty arms around Wubbie. Unfortunately, we were idiots and allowed Oslo to be an indoor/outdoor cat. He was hit by a car before he was even two years old. We still have the Wubbie, and Oslo was the last cat we had which was allowed to go outdoors. --Cricket

My cat loves beer, doritos, and other salty snacks. He spends more time in our fenced in yard than the dog does. He even sits at the back door and meows/yowls/yells until someone opens the door for him. He just lays in the dirt and watches the birds. The dog would rather sleep all day on my bed than spend any time outside. Most mornings it's let the dog in and the cat out and it's funny to watch them because they're both waiting for the other one to go through the door first. There's a lot of missteps and oops, I'll go this way, if you go that way kind of movements.

So many fun stories and photos!
The first rule about cats is...there are no rules about cats! They do whatever the heck they want.
Every now and then Angelique gets it into her head that she wants to eat whatever I'm eating and she sits next to me and tap-taps me on the leg with her paw until I give in. She then quite literally eats whatever I give her. Baked beans, mushrooms, chili noodles, soup, yogurt, cherries etc. I only give her a tiny amount but when she gets like this, she'll eat anything. It's got nothing to do with being hungry, when she's in this mood, she just wants to eat whatever I'm eating.
She's 8 now and for all of those 8 years I've been trying to teach how how to snuggle and 'spoon' properly...but she just doesn't get it! She gets under the blankets but then faces in towards me with all four legs sticking straight out. I try and turn her the other way so her back is towards me...but she won't stay like that. She lies like that and purrs so she's obviously comfortable, meanwhile I have 4 cold kitty paws poking into my abdomen.

I forgot about my cat's shoelace. It is his favorite toy, he drags it everywhere, runs around things with it, and I find it all over - by his food, on our bed, by the couch.

My cat licks elbows. Same one chirps whenever she hears her name.

That cat sitting at the table is adorable. My cats are red tabbies. Their names are Mac and Tosh. When my DH's alarm goes off in the morning Mac immediately climbs onto my DH and lies on his hip, purring and snuggling in. It is so annoying because it is hard to get up when the cat wants to snuggle. Both my cats love just washed hair. Whenever any of us gets out of the shower the cats will climb up and rub their faces on the just towel dried hair. They roll around, rubbing against that damp hair until they lose their balance and fall off. They sleep with their paws wrapped around each other, hugging. The minute anyone puts a box down they both jump inside of it.
