Every time I click on a new thread, start a thread, or even refresh my page I get a popup that says "your thread count has not been set" or something like that. And it wants me to "click here" to fix it. What is this? Is it safe to click? I've never ever clicked on a popup because basically I'm not a trusting person.

It's safe, just something new I found.
It adds your thread count under your post count (and in the member list) which I thought was a fun thing. Once you click on the pop-up it will go away - the only reason it's there is the plugin that does all this can't automatically tell how many threads you posted before it was installed so there is a little process for it to check, but you have to allow it.

I have and like you I don't trust it. I didn't click on it. The problem is that I have to keep clicking "not right now" every single time before I do anything. And anyway, I see a number for "threads" right under my name, and everyone else's. So it must have been set. Is that new? Not sure I ever noticed it before.

Ah, thanks! I'll click it then to make it go away. lol. But, as I said above, I can still see a "threads" number under my profile picture so somehow it's already been set.

I have clicked on it several times and it continues to pop up. I am on an iPad. It's annoying! Edited to say: Stupid me. I kept clicking 'Not right now' instead of 'click here'. Ugh! It's gone now. Wake up, Patter!

I don't know where the threads number comes from before it is set, but until it has been verified by clicking ok on the pop-up I can all but guarantee it's not accurate! Anyone who doesn't get a pop-up shouldn't panic, it just means it has been done for you. Anyone can do this for others: When looking at the member list, any thread numbers in red have not been properly verified. You can fix it by visiting that member's profile and then View this member's recent threads. You'll get a similar pop-up and it will set their thread count for them.

Now I am getting it on behalf of other members. Is that what is supposed to happen?
