Wow. I'm not sure we can even begin to fathom all the ramifications The pound is tumbling, we are likely to lose our triple A rating and we will see more of that odious twat Nigel Farage on the telly. Just for you, twitter.com/hashtag/EURefResults?src=trenscroll down to the photo that says TV News camera person we salute you. It's under the photo of the Grandmother laughing. I don't know how to get the image to post

Wow. I'm not sure we can even begin to fathom all the ramifications Even although we know everything will not change overnight, the long term ramifications are so uncertain, it's all a bit scary.

I have already seen people saying they are pulling off Facebook for a while for this reason . I'm not on there enough to let comments bother me. I voted the way I felt was right as was my right and it went against me- I have to accept that and move on. I'm considering it myself. What has really surprised me is that some of them are the last persons on earth I expected this kind of hatred to come from. Fortunately I have very limited "friends" on Facebook and we've all been silent about it because we really are friends, so this hatred is coming from friends of friends posted on to their timelines IYKWIM and it's truly horrible. Being afraid brings out the very worst in people. I can't imagine any sane individual in Britain, Scotland and Ireland who isn't at least a little afraid of what the future will bring, especially financially for their own families, regardless of how they voted. It doesn't excuse the hatred, but I am not surprised by it. I am am surprised at how sad I feel for my UK pea friends right now - I hate that you all are going through all this turmoil and apparently will for a while to come.

The same thing happened in the run up to the Scottish independent referendum. It quite literally split families, friendships and communities. Some of the online comments were positively vile. I just stopped reading them.
We're going to have to go through all the changes together no matter what side you voted for so turning on each other will serve no positive purpose whatsoever.

I think we are entering an era where the English-speaking world will play a significantly smaller role in international issues than it has for the past couple of centuries. We make ourselves irrelevant with isolationism and divisiveness. It's been going on in the US for a while; I'm sorry it seems to have spread to the UK as well.

I found this article which is quite informative All you need to know about BrexitObviously I'm not British, but I'm sure it was not an easy choice to make. Both sides had some strong rationale.

I think that sentence holds a lot of truth for both the UK and for the upcoming election in the USA.

Lots of anger from younger people but they had a very poor showing at the polls . If they had got out and voted they could have maybe stopped it.
I will say again that although I voted to stay in I'm not panicking : it's up to us to pick the right people now to help us to get the best results for our economy.

One of my British friends used the c word in her Facebook status re:Brexit voters. I know it's not so very bad to her as it to me, but still- there is a LOT of anger out there!
I imagine the c word will make an appearance in my Facebook if the unthinkable happens and we have a Trump presidency, so I'm not judging. but it did shock.

This is my biggest beef here where I live. I want to scream 'VOTE dammit!" Last year we gave 20% of registered voters show up. That's not even considering eligible voters who haven't bothered to register! It is so terribly sad. Elections are so close lately that everyone counts!!

In the US, we're doing as much as we can to make voting difficult--doing away with early voting, shortening poll hours, closing polling places altogether, requiring very specific ID's but then limiting the places you can get them. In almost all cases, these changes affect the young, the poor and minorities. Hmm...

Poll hours are the same, there are locations open for the two weeks prior to the elections, and allowing mail in ballots when requested.

I don't know why the vote was not extended to 16 and 17 year olds like the Scottish Referendum was.

All my nieces and nephews and their partners and their friends all age between 19 and 30 all voted to remain. They are all heartbroken with the result. My nieces actually cried because they believe their future careers are in jeopardy.

You don't have to show ID? We always do. I have never shown an ID to vote. In addition, we have had no changes to voting hours, early voting procedures, or number polling locations.

Terrible, isn't it? I researched and agonised for weeks and actually changed from opt out to stay in during that time. I listened to some of those being interviewed on the radio and their ignorance was astounding . Maybe we should have forced people to take classes before voting 🤔

I really wanted to know the facts before I voted. There is a YouTube clip with a girl saying her self and four other family members voted leave. This morning they can't believe the outcome is leave and that Cameron has resigned. She says if they could vote again they would vote remain! That's shocking!

I meant that too and I am positive that if you'd asked thousands more of that age the majority would have wanted to stay.

I was on Twitter following along until the results came in. I knew it would be close but I'll admit I was surprised by the result. I've been watching clips and news this morning as well, ( that Farage interview on GMB was something else ). My thoughts are with all of you. I know it must feel at least a little scary no matter what side you fall on.

They will only accept a driver's license or you have to do a provisional ballot. Not everyone has a driver's license, nor can they afford one. It is illegal to have a poll tax.
My Grandmother would not be allowed to vote if she were alive today because of the changes made in Michigan. It is a disgrace.
