OntarioScrapper . I have the Cricut model that you own. The one where we have to switch between the blade holder to pen holder. It does not have bluetooth and I have yet to buy the adapter. Isn't that funny? I play with the iPad app all the time which is pretty useless to me since I can't use it on my Explore, ROFL. Honestly, I don't miss the bluetooth but I am going to buy the adapter when it hits my price point. I bought that Cricut really cheap. I really wasn't planning to upgrade. My Expressions was going to Cricut heaven. I was at WM on Black Friday super late at night. It was like two or three in the morning. In the sewing department on the cutting table was one lone Cricut Explore. I went over to look at it. The manager came over to me and asked if I knew what that was. What department should it be in and if I wanted it. He gave me a huge discount because he didn't want to deal with putting it back in a proper place, lol. I got it for a little over hundred dollars, lol. Other Cricut personal news. I decided not to buy the Maker. I just mentioned the last Cricut I bought was at a substantial discount. Cricut has been on my thrift store price list for a long time now. The Cricut Maker would have been the first time in at least five years I would have paid a lot of money for. Missing cartridges, online software, slow speeds, timing out, no offset, no inset, no offline software and possible bluetooth issues reported. No, I think I will pass. Cricut is not getting any money from me unless it is thrift store price. I have my price points for everything. I am not trying to be snarky about thrift prices. I actually do have a thrift store price for things I buy. It's one of my frugality codes of honor. One last piece of Cricut gossip. Have you all noticed the mats went up in price? You have the Explore One then. I have the original Explore. I have both the blade holder and pen/stylus holder as one unit. No swapping out. Though it also came without the Bluetooth and I ended up getting the adapter for cheap later on. I actually had bought on a good sale at Christmas and a few months later they started selling Explores with Bluetooth built in. Awesome deal though on your machine. I only buy my mats and blades on Amazon. Even a sale at Michael's isn't as cheap. I once bought a pack of 25 Blue mats off of Cricut when they had a mega sale for $75 a few years back. $3 per mat was a steal. I make a lot of the same cards for Christmas and for my husband's previous job so having a lot of mats going at once saved me lots of time.

I know I just wrote a big SnC review on another thread. Just a note if you read this big grump I am going to start please don't let it influence my SnC thread. I am good at keeping things separate. OMG I AM SO ANGRY AT CRICUT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! GRRRRRRR. I wanted to cut some heavy materials this week. I turn on my Cricut. I always read a chapter in my book at the top of the hour. I was reading my chapter. Machine is on but has not yet cut. Five minutes the machine is on and the carriage starts moving up and down. The rollers going crazy. It was possessed. I have never seen a cutter do this. I turn it off, trying to figure it out. Nothing. My DH tears it apart, can't see anything, puts it back together and there it goes crazy again. He takes it apart again and on the Motherboard is rust! Yes, rust. I take very good care of my things. I know none of you know me IRL. I am prissy particular about my things. I am in tears about this rust thing. My DH told me it was the way Cricut oiled the machine. Ok, I understand that. Mistakes happen. That's all fine and good. I am not going to hold them accountable for something that was an accident. My DH was able to remove the rust and fix the motherboard. Nice having a DH with an electronic's background. I am so grateful and blessed. It is perfect again. Phew. Go to cut something now when you set the dial to cardstock it reads poster board in Design Space and the cut button won't work. Tell DH he forget to hook something back up. He said that wouldn't cause that particular issue. I recreated what I did to show him. He said it's the tape in the machine. Apparently it has rust too. DH takes the tape and fixes it. Now, my dial is working again and I can't cut!!!!!! Now DH has to take apart the machine later today. Wish him luck. This is why I am so irate at Cricut. Before my DH figured out it was rust I contacted them in their chat. They asked me to send a video of the problem. I make the video, send it to them and they got the video but I am still waiting for an answer FIVE DAYS LATER! Nothing on their end. Not even sorry we can't help Cricut went to heaven. I am not asking them to jump and fix my machine. I am asking for some decent common courtesy and a nice e-mail saying they are either looking into my problem, or go away or we don't want you as a customer. Least anything, not ignoring. No, nothing is in my spam folder. I can tell you my DH thinks this is really rude too. He is super sweet but had a few choice words for Cricut's customer care. I know this is so long. I need to rant. I am so frustrated right now. I know some of you are saying. "Girl, you have two other cutters." Yes, I do but I am a little delicate with my SnC since I am so attached to it. I got out my Cameo 2 to cut with. Are you ready? She's going to heaven. She's doing her famous die cutting death knell. Two cutters one week. Who has this luck? I am in tears. Does anyone have the Cameo3? Are you cutting out things like chipboard and acetate? Heavy materials in that range? scrapnnana I did read the Cameo 3 is cutting leather. I wanted to let you know. I am telling you if the Cricut is dead I am done. Can you imagine if I have a problem with the Maker I might wait two years for them to get back to me on the problem.

@amayalylac That stinks. My first Explore Air 2 was defective. I sent them a video showing the carriage SLAMMING into the left side of the machine. It was awful. They responded quickly, so I am surprised you haven't heard from them.
I'd cry too, if I lost 2 machines in one week.

Oh, amayalylac, that is terrible! It's bad enough that two machines went bad the same week, but the absolute lack of Cricut customer service response is the worst!
I can imagine how upset you must be that 2 of your machines gave up the ghost the same week. The same month would be bad. The same week is far worse. I am so sorry. I truly am.
Thanks for the tip about the Cameo 3 cutting leather. I had heard that even the Cameo 2 can cut leather, but I had already bought the Explore Air 2 when I found out. So far my Explore is behaving. I will hope for the best. If a bunch of Cricuts start malfunctioning because they weren't oiled properly, it could be almost as big a fiasco as half the Imagine machines catching fire.
I hope you get on their case and tell them that several days of silence is NOT an appropriate customer service response.

Update- DH tore the machine completely apart. The ribbon that controls the dial and the cut button is frayed, probably from the oil mishap. I can replace the ribbon if Cricut used a generic maker for it. My DH told me to replace the machine and my old one we can use it for parts if the other one breaks. I was really not happy about buying another Cricut machine with all their recent drama's and this bad customer service experience. I knew he was right because we practice this part thing for a lot of our electronics in our home and it works for us and saves us a lot of money. My DH & I have been doing some Fall decluttering. We had old electronics to trade. I used our trade money to get a new Cricut. I got the Explore Air 2 in the pretty denim color and my DH got Red Dead Redemption 2 all for only $40 out of pocket. That falls in my thrifting price. Not a bad day to get a new machine and brand new release game. I guess that is an example of trash to treasure, lol. I did think about paying a few dollars more for the Maker but my DH said I should wait for Maker 2 because he said looking at the first gen Explore he said it is well made but they made mistakes. He thinks the Maker 1 will be the same. Thank you for letting me rant. I am still furious with Cricut and their horrible customer service. I was reading some other people had similar issues. They need to do better training of their CS department. I am going to tell them off politely. I am not mad about the frayed ribbon and oil mishap. I know those things happen. Their customer service thing really ticked me off. I am very patient person, IRL. I am blessed that I do have a DH that can fix electronics. Cricut has consumers buying this machine for their business. Cricut can't even act professional to send a courtesy e-mail saying they received the information they asked and they are looking into it. That is just unacceptable, especially if you are a business that you depend on the machine to operate your business. Now, I just need to decide if I want to do another Cameo. I might not buy another one since my ScannCut is fitting my needs that I used the Cameo for. I can buy SVG's from their design store.

Oh crap. Rust? HA! If my machine dies, I won't know how to look for rust. But then I've had it for 3 years now.

OntarioScrapper The rust was on the motherboard and it was also on the ribbon (belt) that controls the power, load mat, pause console. It was little bits & pieces here and there. DH really had to look for it. The motherboard he saved. The belt couldn't be saved because the rust was on the circuitry itself. I am not that mad it happened. Cricut could have got some oil from like a rain leak or the bottle was bad or any other possibilities. I know these things happen. OMG! Trying to open up the Cricut was the worst. They really put that machine together and it is very proprietary. I guess it's a good thing the machine is put together so well. It does take awhile to open up. The old Expressions five minutes and you had it open. Took DH & I thirty minutes to open the Explore machine. Once you open it is fast to put back together. My machine was only five years old. I haven't heard from their customer service about my issue. I just was lost in the system or ignored. Who knows. I haven't got to play with my new Cricut yet. Busy week. Next week is quieter, I hope, lol. I am happy with the decision I made for my machines. The whole fiasco showed me I do really rely on two machines. I need to have two in my home. Now, I have my ScannCut that can be a replacement for my Cameo and my Explore Air as a replacement for my old Explore. That is a good fit for me. All turned out well but I am still super mad at Cricut for their lackluster Customer Service. I really hope they improve things with the holidays coming up.

All turned out well but I am still super mad at Cricut for their lackluster Customer Service. I really hope they improve things with the holidays coming up. I hope you are right, but I wouldn't place any bets on that happening. They had to lose customers in a huge way, with horrible publicity to wake up enough to improve customer service in the past. I suspect they have gotten complacent again. If it were me, I would email their customer service at least twice more, and if you still get no response, then write a letter to their CEO to complain. Don't hesitate to mention the fact that they are getting bad publicity here for the rust issue, as well as their absolute lack of customer service. If that doesn't get their attention, nothing will. I am surprised that you are not upset about the rust. That would really bother me. In fact, it bothers me anyway, because I am wondering if it was a result of using cheap materials. Cricut keeps coming out with new machines. They obviously make money on new machines. Cricut fans often upgrade when a new machine is released. But for those of us die-hards who use machines till they die, maybe they are saving on cost of manufacturing by using lower quality materials, which would also possibly ensure that a machine has a shorter life. Because customers usually have money invested in the designs, they often just buy a new Cricut, so if Provo Craft makes a machine with a shorter life span, it would be one way to get the die-hards to finally upgrade. I can't help but wonder if that could be the real issue. I don't know that, but I can't help but wonder about it. Yes, mistakes can be made, and a machine not be properly protected from rust when it was supposed to be. It could be totally unintentional. Maybe they realized and corrected the issue in the newer machines. Perhaps time and the experiences of other customers will show one way or another, but most who own Cricut machines do not have a spouse who will tear their machine apart. Most of us would never know why a machine stops working. If my Explore Air 2 dies before I have gotten my money's worth out of it, I know I will wonder if it is a rust issue. I think I am going to start cutting my favorite Cricut designs from black cardstock, scan the cuts, and turn them into .svg files. I will keep the cartridges. I will never get rid of those. As long as I own them, I have the right to cut the designs. There is nothing that requires me to cut them on a Cricut. It can legally be any machine as long as I still have the cartridges. If my Explore dies one day, I will have the files backed up and can cut them on my Cameo, or my Scan N Cut, or whatever is my favorite machine then. Provo Craft/Cricut has shown again and again that it doesn't really care about their customers. They won't even acknowledge your email. That is inexcusable. At this point, I'm not sure that I want to give them any more of my money.

Bigger Update on the Cricut E-mail Fiasco. Right after I posted here I check my e-mail and what is in my e-mail box? Yes, a reply from Cricut. A reply dated yesterday a week and a half from sending them the requested video! The "badly trained customer service" rep said they could not view my video. DUH! I took it down a couple of days ago after not hearing from them. I am so irate about this. I am just fuming they took so long to reply back. I know they have a high volume of e-mails to get through. I started in their chat, then was sent to e-mail and nothing, no help at all. I sent them a reply that I was not happy. They caused me a lot of stress with their no reply or even acknowledging they received my e-mail. I did tell them I had to depend on a third party to fix. Which, of course is true. Third party, of course, was my DH but he is professionally trained and went to college for electronics. My DH is not a hobbyist. It's not like I went to my DH with puppy tearful eyes and asked for help. I went to a professional electrician for help! Yes, I am blessed and lucky the professional electrician I went to lives in my home. Ok, I did have puppy tearful eyes, lol. I also told them the last time I contacted their customer service how wonderful they were, how well I was treated, how my issue was resolved in a timely manner, with quick follow up e-mails & even a timeline when the issue would be resolved. Definitely not this time & I am really just shocked and angry from how lovely and sweet it was last time to downright rude this time. I guess that's why I am so upset. I did contact Cricut this past Winter. I needed to have my e-mail change. When I told them I could not change my e-mail the rep said the technicians were having issues and was it important to change it. I told them it was because of my stalking case. They bent over backwards to help me, no questions asked and were so sweet from the rep to the techs. I was truly touched and appreciative. This newest incident just makes all of this so upsetting. I almost forgot there was no apology or reason from Cricut why they took so long. That is a new one for me. The times I have waited an extended period for a reply from other companies I always received a nice reply with an apology and the reason it took so long. scrapnnana I am upset about the rust. I am very particular the way I take care of everything. My friends tease me my Dollar Tree items I bought twenty years ago look new. DH & I have a side job fixing computers and electronics. He does hardware & I do software. We have seen the strangest things with electronics and the shoddy way even high end can be made. We also know accidents happen. My DH really did have too look for the rust. When he showed me the motherboard and ribbon he had to show me with a magnifying flashlight. It was enough to do damage. Yes, I would like to hold Cricut accountable for the rust. I also don't want to point fingers. Maybe the motherboards or ribbon got wet during shipping and Cricut did not see it, or the oil from conditioning the machines had water in it. Trust me my DH has bought oil with water in it. It does happen. It could be a number of reasons. Of course, it is Cricut so maybe they are being shoddy with how they are building the machines. I do think Cricut needs to be aware. I am not a cynical person at all but Cricut does bring it out in me. I keep thinking do they really care or well they have their star YouTuber's and Facebook bullies tell us we are bad people. You know we all have had some experiences like that since the early days when Cricut still had a forum. Like you I don't upgrade until my machines die and can't be fixed any more. I really did not want to buy another Cricut but it fell in my thrift store price. I was really not wanting to buy another full price machine this year after buying the ScannCut. I am really mad about all of this. I don't want to keep gnawing at it. I have had such a stressful year with my stalking case, having bricks thrown at my home and called a N-Lover and then my relative getting hit by the car. Plus our poor car needed several repairs, my washer & dryer needed repairs, our sink, etc, etc, etc... It has been the year of broken things, lol. When my Cricut blew up I was in tears because I am like "Can't I just have one month of something not breaking!" I did think about sending follow up e-mails. I came close. I don't need the added stress or anxiety in my life. I got it fixed. I had to fix it myself. Things turned out ok for me. I don't want anyone to think I am ok with all of this and que sera sera. You know how it is when you are under a lot of stress. Pick your battles and let some things go. I wanted to let this go. If they do send me a customer service rep survey like they do trust me I will leave a very bad review.

I got the email from Cricut that something was going to be on today and didn't realize it as going to be a comedy show.

Another update on the crazy customer service fiasco. Last Friday/Saturday I posted about taking so long to get back to me. I sent them a reply telling them how I upset I was. I was classy and kind in the e-mail. I was firm too. Didn't hear anything back and then yesterday what is in my e-mail box a reply from Cricut. This is how I went- "Sorry, about all of this. Let us know if you need anything else!" That was it. Nothing about concern over rust or problems with their customer service. I mean I am not expecting anything at all. I didn't even reply back. I am over it. Waiting for the survey they will probably send in March. I think that is a very strange and weak reply. I am so worried about what is going to happen in the next couple of weeks. All the holiday shoppers and new users needing help and Cricut takes a billion years to answer. What about the businesses who depend on this machine? My DH had a company truck break one time and his company took it to a new repair shop. They had to fight to hear any news about this important work truck and how it was going to to be fixed. Waited days and days and then weeks and weeks until my DH's company sued the repair shop. This is what happens to businesses who treat other businesses bad, just saying Cricut. We all know you are reading this. You are going to get sued if you keep treating your customer's this way with the bad customer service. Businesses use your machine and you are costing businesses money. I am just really hoping I had a badly trained rep and this is an isolated case I went through. I heard real horror stories and not hype stories about people getting jerked around about problems with the Maker. I am suspecting I am not an isolated case and Cricut is having real customer service problems. I think it is hilarious CDS went down during HSN. Karma! Poor Anna, though. Sending her hugs. I still haven't used my Cricut Explore Air 2. I really do hope I can use it next week. Life was busy this week. I do like my images. I am excited to try bluetooth. All I wanted to do since this fiaso happened was cut a money from Create A Critter and make some chipboard templates, lol. I wasn't asking much here Cricut.

What is the new news and gossip in the Cricut world? What I really want to know how is the offline thing going? Any news about beta's or any hope, lol. I do really want to know. My Cameo is dying and I need a replacement "sticker" machine. I am thinking of a Portrait unless Cricut is getting close to a release for offline. That is super important. My ScannCut is nice but there are features I need from either Cameo or Cricut that I can't get with the ScannCut. I did want to give an update on my pretty new blue denim Cricut. I am very happy with it. I am not having any drama's. Knocking on wood. I got a free month of Cricut Access and I actually liked it. I did a lot of cutting of new things. I let the sub expire because I don't know if I would use it enough for the sub price. That is personally for me not anything about the service. I loved using Design Space with my iPad. I really hate using it on my computer though. It makes me ragey, lol. I know that's because I am using other design programs and expect similar basic features. I do like the Print & Cut upgrades. Not up to par with the Cameo yet. I liked my results and everyone loved my images I made. I got a lot of ooohs and aahs. People thought they looked like professional illustrations so that was nice. I do have a beautiful printer too. That could be it. I hate the new mats. I am not joking about this. Put down your coffee because you will spit it out. My cat got stuck on it. Yes, I am serious. He got stuck to the mat and I had to pull it off of him and pull out his fur. Should I sue for cat trauma? I had cat butt fur all over my mat. You know how hard that is to clean off? Those mats are way too sticky. I used that new mat made for low tack projects. What the heck, Cricut? When I cleaned the mat off with baby wipes the paint came off of the mat. I really love the bluetooth. My last Explore did not have bluetooth. I really didn't think I was going to care about the bluetooth on this new machine. That was a game changer for me.

Not sure why they decided super sticky mats were the way to go. Haven't heard a peep lately about off line mode. Would make my crafting so much easier.

Amayalylac, you weren't kidding. If I'd been drinking anything, I'm sure it would have come shooting out of my nose when I read about your poor cat.
I'm glad you like your new Cricut, even though you hate the mats. I have never tried the low tack, but I usually need my mats sticky.

This is hopeful you haven't heard anything because maybe they are working on it. Crossing fingers. I was really hopeful when they sent the survey to you all last year.
It was the blue tack mat! That's crazy isn't it? I never had Cricut mats that sticky. I just bought new mats and all the mats are super sticky from the blue to the green. My poor baby got stuck on the blue low tack mat. I can barely use the green mats. I did not get a purple one but I can just imagine, lol.
I am going to order some of the off brand mats and try them. I am not ordering them right away since they have limited inspections on cargo until everything reopens again. Not being political. The off brands look promising. I am hoping they are a good alternative. I like the prices.

Yes, all the time my babies are on my die cutters. They leave them alone when they are not in use. Once the machine is on they love to set and watch the machine cut things out. They will peek behind the back and slap at the machine or they smack the mats. It is very funny. They don't harm anything. I let them play. I am setting close to them so they are safe. The only time I had an issue was when my girl kitty figured out a way to open the blade holder on the Expressions, lol.
My poor boy kitty he comes over to set beside me. He sets right down on the mat. I am like "You can't set on that! NOOOO!" ROFL. I pick him up and the mats is stuck on him. It was like glue. I am having a panic attack. I carefully try to pull it off but no it's stuck. I had to do the band aid thing and the poor look on his face. He gave me this little mew and curled up in my arms like it was the worst day ever, lol.

Sounds like you are having fun with your new Cricut except for the cat. Wow. Didn't realize how sticky those darn mats are! I use the blue ones now for paper and the green for vinyl. Not sure why they decided super sticky mats were the way to go. Haven't heard a peep lately about off line mode. Would make my crafting so much easier.
What the ever loving F are they putting on those mats! ? I bought a huge pack of the Blue ones for a good discount about a year ago and they weren't sticky enough to get a cat stuck on them.

What the ever loving F are they putting on those mats! ? I bought a huge pack of the Blue ones for a good discount about a year ago and they weren't sticky enough to get a cat stuck on them. I know! That's what I was thinking. My cardstock got stuck. I have an expensive ream of Epsom paper. I couldn't get it off the mat and when I did it was already a sticker! I have never ever, ever had mats so sticky. I bought the standard mats I think back in October. Of course my low tack mat came with my new Cricut in November. I was so hoping I got a bad batch but the November mat proved me wrong, lol.
The one thing I have never knocked Cricut about is the mats. Now, they ruined it, ROFL! I have always loved their mats. My DH said I probably should get the purple mat and see if we can pull the paint off a semi-truck, lol. I was like "I think the low tack mats will be fine for that job!"
The paint is coming off the mat too because they are so sticky. When you take your project off the mat there is little bits of green or blue sticky on your project. There is the mat with the white showing through.
I honestly think they changed the glue formulation when the Cricut Maker came out. That is my theory.
That is another thing I never hear about the Cricut Maker any more? Is it still hot? When I was on IG this holiday season I saw a lot of people getting the Air Cricut's or Cameo's. I was really surprised not to see Maker's. It seemed like a lot of textile artists were getting Big Shots too. I thought that was so odd because I heard textile artists are leaning towards machines like the Maker or ScannCut.

Hi there OntarioScrapper! I usually post on the NSBR board. I see some familiar faces here! I spent most of Saturday being completely frustrated with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I received it for Christmas from my son. It’s my first machine of this kind. I’m sure some of my frustration was user error since I am a newbie but geez something that it suppose to give you enjoyment shouldn’t be such a pain in the butt. Here is my problem. On design space I picked a few cards to make for Valentines. They were the Layered Love Card, Be My Valentine, and the Hello Honeycomb Card. With the layered love card, it cut the top layer (white) really small like 2x3 and the next piece regular size: obviously it wouldn’t line up. on the be my valentine card, again small card like really small and a regular sized envelope and printer the words in the middle of the card. On the hello honeycomb card, the words wouldn’t print, which is the cutest part of the card: somehow, not sure what I did but I finally got the words to print. i wasted so much time not to mention the paper I wasted. I could have gone to Target, bought cards, signed them, and sent them in 1/4 of the time. is this normal for Cricut? Also I got booted off so many times and had to reopen it. So far I give this machine a big BOOOO

I am sorry your Cricut is turning into a big BOOOO. I am going to try and help. Hopefully, somebody else has some tips. I am going to assume Windows user. If not early apologies. Select all on your card. Ctrl + A for select All. Right Click, Group. Then size your card the way you want it. Now you should be able to work with the individual layers. Cricut imports everything including their own designs super small. Then sometimes Design Space Ungroups everything. It's a bug. When you resize make sure the padlock icon is in the locked position or each of your images will resize incorrectly. Are you using Wi-Fi? If you are try using your network cable. Hardwire your network instead. Design Space can boot you off all the time. It can also be your Wi-Fi signal. Your cable company might be having some strength issues. You have to have really, really, really good Internet with the Cricut. I know it's not fair. Hopefully, we get the offline software really soon. Design Space and Bad Internet has a lot of boots from what I have seen and helped with over the years. I saw by your avatar you are from Alaska. I am not being nosy. You said you could have gone to Target. I am thinking you probably do not live remotely. You are close or in one of the bigger Alaska areas. Your Internet would be built for your region and the weather. I was going to say with all the cold the lower states have been experiencing our Internet has been a bit wonky and that could cause some issues. I don't think that would be you. Might be helpful to somebody else reading this that is getting booted off.

iowgirl Thank you so much for the link. I am very appreciative. I am so glad other companies are making mats now. I really like the prices, lol. I don't have anything against the Cricut mats. I am not happy they are so sticky. Like, I said I think they changed the formula because of the Maker. I was just in my room tonight looking at one of my older mats that I haven't used. I noticed the glue is different and even smells different. Cricut raised the prices of the mats too. Super excited other companies are making mats because if I can get mats cheaper I am all over that. My kitty would be really appreciative not to get stuck on one again.

With regards to the wonky size issue for cards, I have never had any issue cutting any design that was a grouped or complicated design. The sizes have always matched. I've had my machine a little over 2 years, and I had no idea there was a "bug." I rarely cut cards with my Explore, but I have cut some intricut Disney designs, cutting heat transfer vinyl (HTV) for t-shirts. If I had gotten wonky size issues, I would have been really upset, because the HTV is a lot more expensive than paper.
However, I don't use the WiFi with my Cricut. I connect my Explore Air 2 directly to the computer with an ethernet cable. Always. I know the WiFi capability is a feature that a lot of people love, but I just don't use it. Maybe the bug is only an issue with WiFi?
There was a post about someone having issues getting their printer to print via WiFi. We had a similar issue with a different printer. It works fine with the ethernet cable, but not using WiFi. So we bought a new printer on Black Friday, and the old printer got moved to my craft room, next to my computer. Then my DH found that sometimes the new printer didn't always print. Sometimes it would only work with the ethernet cable. It was a brand new machine, and it was having the same issues as the old printer had.
That made my DH look more closely at our WiFi setup. We have a pretty complicated setup, using both the phone company WiFi and also Velop, because we have a lot of devices connected to it. Sometimes the WiFi signals seem to want to send the WiFi signal to the printer via one of the internet hubs that is farthest away, and the signal was just too weak for the printer to work. He could not figure out why it was doing that, but if you have a more complex WiFi system with more than one hub, perhaps it is a similar issue.
The gal who recently posted in a different message thread about her printer problems (pm400 thread), did update with how she finally fixed her problem. I don't know if it would work for your Cricut issue, but I suggest you check that message thread, just in case. Since connecting directly with an ethernet cable is not a big inconvenience (for us) for our printing and cutting issues, we just stick to using the cable.
The Explore is a great machine. Don't give up on it.

The more I learn how to use my Explore Air 2, the happier I am. Please don't give up!

Thanks for giving me some suggestions to try. Not sure I understand everything but, I will try and figure it out.
Also I don't know if this is part of my problem but I am using my Ipad and my Iphone to access Design Space. I don't have a PC at home. I guess that could be part of the problem with getting kicked off so much. I will have my dh check our wifi and see if we have a strong signal.
I guess the most frustrating thing is the sizing issue of the Layered Love Card from Design Space. I mean shouldn't they just cut out the size they should be to fit together? Have any of you had this issue on this card or others?
