charged up my gypsy to transfer my carts to craftroom and I got the dreaded blue light............. Basically my gypsy won't turn on even after the reset. It just has a constant blue light, but nothing on display. Talked with customer service chat and they advised me to send in my gypsy to see if they could get it to turn on. I went ahead and ordered a bundled deal for air 2 and I should be getting it on Friday.
I am a graphic artist by trade so I can always design what I need in other programs and drop the files into Design Space. I used to do alot of scrapbooking, but since I've been sewing I haven't had the time.
I may look into selling my expression with the carts if I can get them uploaded into craftroom / design space.

teri I hope they will be able to fix your Gypsy. Cricut news- I bought Quarter Note. I finally found a great deal on it. I am so happy to get it. I think I have my cart Wish List fulfilled. I know I won't be buying items out of their store. I don't have anything against their store. I am sure it is lovely but I prefer Cameo's store for my personal needs. The software. We all know how much I hate the software, lol. It is just insulting to that poor lovely machine. ProvoCraft is all about the money and never the customer. I know they teach that to all new employees. I am being cheeky. Seriously, I have given up on the software. I only use it for the Cricut designs I own and occasionally one of my designs I created in one of the other programs. That is if I want to cut a material that the Cameo can't cut. I was reading one of my favorite scale modeling forums tonight. One of the sweet gentleman had bought an Explore. He was really excited about it. He had the 330 page PDF handbook ready to go. He was cutting styrene. He was super excited about it. This is a very intelligent man. I always love his posts. He understood the mathematics and engineering behind on plotters. I could see that he was struggling with the software. He does use other software so I knew it was not a matter of not knowing graphic programs. The software was too simple for him to use and that was causing complications. I wish ProvoCraft would understand this. It makes me want to bang my head on my desk. Just because it is simple does not mean it is easy. Simple can be more complicated.

There was a post by Rene' Helm Thurston on Cricut Misfits about Design Space 3, which is reportedly being released sometime this spring.
"DS3 will have: 1) Apparently projects are easier to find and show up by photo now instead of by file name. 2) Make it Now projects are more easily searchable. 3) ...drag and drop for uploading your own images... 4) The interface has kind of a "word" appearance; i.e. there's a drop down for fonts that are on your computer as well as what's part of DS, rather than doing it at the side as we did before, and it shows up HUGE across the screen so you can see what it will look like. 5) Two Skypers mentioned it's now FLASH FREE!"
I am not particularly excited about them, considering what I wish the software could do, but at least they are improvements.

Q&A with Cricut product teamWhy are you coming out with a new color when we need new software? We have a huge team of engineers working on the next revision of our software - Design Space 3. We have been working for 18 months and we have ambitious goals on the user experience. The color of a machine is done in factories and these are driven by trends and user demand. There are over 2-3 million projects being done every month and many of those users are looking for new colors to upgrade. The software is done by a software team and is a major effort. There are over 1200 users externally using Design Space 3. And we are polishing up the experience. We also plan to do a sneak peek of Design Space 3 during the HSN airing. Once we feel that the software really delivers the enhanced experience that we are aiming for, we will launch. Thanks and we appreciate your patience. (Ashish CEO) What things are going to be fixed with the new software? No more flash! That means no having to go in and update your flash plug in! We know - we are excited too! Product Search - the ability to search projects within Design Space and Make It Now projects. Your dream project just got a whole lot easier to find! No more tabs! Everything you need is already on your canvas screen. Ain’t nobody got time for searching through tabs - spend your time creating instead!

Well we can hope! The answer was NEVER. How else are they to make you see their ads when you first go into DS? There's different levels for the Access Subcriptions. I clicked on the Font only one just because I was curious. Then I got an e-mail from them asking if I was thinking of buying that sub and some how great it was. Sigh. More ways to Spam me.

Some just keep all their machines and some sell the one they are replacing. The only difference between the 2 machines is the colour. In one of FB groups, a male crafter has made a template to use so that you can change the colour of your machine. He is trying different materials to see what sticks to his Explore the best. Should be interesting if he gets deleted from the fangirl Cricut group..

Well, sometimes I think PC does things HOPING that consumers will bite - and they usually do. I think there have been more people clamoring for better software than for new colors, but it's easier to change the color of plastic.

I posted this on a different thread but I am just so !@#$%^& tired of their games. They told us offline software and they don't want to go this route now. I said I was willing to pay for it. I know it is expensive to design software. I know they need ad revenue. They also need happy customers. I don't feel like when I bought the Explore it was a mistake because they made promises. I have been a Cricut user long enough to know how PC is about promises. I thought new CEO things will be different. For my needs I can't have a cutter with online software only. I don't need pretty colors. I need consistency and no drama's. I go in my room to create not have drama's. I am packing my Explore away. I will get rid of it next year. I am only keeping it in case my Cameo can't cut a material I might need and I am getting a Scan n Cut for my heavy duty needs. Then I will retire my Cameo. Not because there is anything wrong with it but it will be redundant with the Scan n Cut. I know I should have my Scan n Cut now. Big tax bill came up this year due to a clerical error at my DH's work. That is ok. I should have it by this Summer.

The problem with Circut was some of the groups on FB had admins saying there would be offline software when in fact it was just going to be for iphone, ipad and ipod app. Even that one is annoying because you have to download everything you think you will need to be able to design. It's like they went backwards from the Gypsy instead of forwards. Then of course those groups that had mistakenly made it seem DS would be offline had to backtrack. Then we got "that was never said". Sigh. Cricut just seems to like to bring drama to themselves. It's unfortunate that the Explore is such a great machine with such a crappy software. DS 3 was promised for end of 2016 and now it's sometime this spring.

I put my first ever Circut machine up for sale again, the Create. It cut 12x6 and got me through many projects. I asked for $100 (Canadian) and included about 16 mats, 2 extra blades and the Spring Fling cartridge since DonJuan is linked to my account. First response was is the price firm. Yes was my response. When I tried selling it last year I had people messaging me how about half price? My favourite "I'm only going to use it for ONE project". Snort. Not likely. So I had took it off for a cool down period. Second response. Want it now. My Mom has a Cricut, I want one also. Didn't hear from first person. Send out message that I would give them to a certain time and go on the second person. Got a third person wanting it in the meantime. 2nd person ended up with the machine. I feel a bit sad. Haven't used it in a while but that Create was my first machine! Now my Expression 2 is taunting me to sell it too.

I've decided to no try out Design Space 3. So many problems with some users so far. I'm afraid I'd be one of them! I don't have the newest computer or laptop so I'll hold out for a as long as I can!
My daughter asked to use my Cricut machine. She wanted to do a title. She's done it before with my help. This time she didn't need as much help. She put the letters into my 1.5 Xyron sticker maker and now is happy to take her sheet of stickers with her to school tomorrow. She's using it for a project in french class.

What problems are people having? I have not updated yet. I always wait, because there are always bugs. I wait to update software till users tell me it's fine.
So it sounds as though DS3 has issues? Details, please?

The problem with Circut was some of the groups on FB had admins saying there would be offline software That is true. A big part of why I finally upgraded to an Explore machine was because the Cricut Facebook group I am in the administrator had posted that the new Design Space could be used offline. I played around with DS3 but haven't cut anything from it yet.

My Cricut wandered back out on my desk. I just need a heavy duty cutter. I am still seesawing on the Scan n Cut. Mainly because I want three new gaming systems more than another die cutter, lol. I tried the new Design Space tonight. Oh my freaking! WOW! It worked on Firefox. I about fell over. I did not cut. I was looking for a flamingo, lol. I forgot about that beautiful flamingo on the Art Nouveau cartridge. I know I spelled the cartridge wrong. I am going with it. I am tired, lol. So far, kind of good for DS3, will give Cricut a cautious outlook. Remember everyone I am in Design Space super late at night. I know that is a very big bearing on how the software works. I know during daytime it could be a disaster. I installed the plugin wrong. That was my fault. Pay attention when your installing the plugin. I do think the software is still a bit basic. I also know it is in beta too and the final look will be different. There are some major improvements. I like the layout a lot better. I do think it can be upgraded to a more powerful software easily. Let's face it when you create something in Flash then that is what the developers are stuck with and very limited options in upgrading. OntarioScrapper I think you priced the Create super cheap. I think it's a good deal. I am sorry you went through that drama. I know when I tried to sell Cricut things before I just wanted to cover my ears listening to all the crazy offers and sob stories. This is why I give things away, lol. Night Owl Do you have any more info about offline? We all know how happy this would make me, lol. I don't mind if it's a hybrid offline/online thing. I hope this offline thing will happen.

Sorry if that was misleading. It was back in September/October when one of the moderators said it would be offline and unfortunately her info was WRONG. She is very bossy and in the know on the forum so I got excited when she said that and that's when I upgraded to an Explore machine. I used DS3 a couple times yesterday and had no issues. Knock Wood that this will be a real improvement. Though my skeptical side says that a lot of people are still using DS2 and it is still in Beta.... so I hope it will continue to be good.

I upgraded but have not cut with DS3 yet. I usually use my IPad with it since I find DS easier that way. I just wish they had made it easier to find things on DS3. I knew where to look for things from the posts I had seen on the Cricut Facebook groups, and I still had a hard time finding them. They posted that DS will be down 1:00-6:00 AM mountain time on the 8th and 9th for maintenance. Maybe it will help. Sure wish they would just give us a simple offset function sometime soon.

Night Owl I understand. Sad but understand, lol. I wanted offline so bad. You must have been so ticked when you found out she was wrong. I abhor those bossy in the know Cricut fan girls. IMO I think they are the detriment in the Cricut industry and the reason why Cricut has so many troubles. I feel like they almost caused the death knell of Cricut. They could have made a lot of people lose their homes and livelihood. They don't care just as long as the CEO at Cricut smiles at them. I know this is really harsh. That is my biggest problem with Cricut. If you need something answered it is the "I am in the know." Posse that answers it even over Cricut! You can't get anything straight. You know Cricut encouraged it in the older days and now it's coming back to bite them. I rely on the help files now, lol. They are my best "In the know." garagesaler Yes, I agree the offset is a needed function. I am flummoxed why they do not offer this. I keep thinking it's because they are worried we will be altering Cricut files. We can hide things on the Cricut files. I don't see why an offset would be an issue. pepperwood I am not a beta tester. I just logged in. I have the link but the site is down for the scheduled maintenance. I will link it tomorrow when the site is back up.

It's like they purposely don't want to give us too much creative control, maybe they think it will encourage people to use their fonts. If that is their thinking they have lost their minds. Silhouette store has more expensive fonts and we can offset those, lol. Plus, a lot of designer's buy fonts from other sites. If they know they can have creative control of their fonts I don't think they will run to ProvoCraft to buy a limited font when they can buy a similar or same font from a different font provider. I do have a few font's from Cricut like Blackletter, Calligraphy, Jasmine, Hello Kitty off the top of my head. I do love them. I do need to make mats for them at times. I see they are providing planner files. I was excited about that. I don't think the store is strong as Silhouette's stores in those kind of files. That is a shame because the Explore is pretty popular in the planner world. Anybody getting anything Cricut related on Mother's Day?

Details, please? I think it's why they launched the beta to the public. They have had testers for months now. Considering the program has to use the cloud and be online, it was actually wise to open the beta to the public. People were just having random issues. Others it worked perfectly fine for them.

Anyone here use the Cricut Rewards site? I've had codes sitting round for years and decided to finally use them. Well I set up an account and then I looked at the stuff. And it's kind sparse. The only Cartridges available gets you a Circle Membership ($10 % off purchases and free shipping over $50). However they require 3,000 points. You can only get the reward points with older cartridges. The other rewards are kind of crappy. I like embossing folders but there's not many to choose from.
I am stuck with 2,060 points. I did NOT put them into my rewards account because I'm not sure what I should do with them. I don't think I'll end up buying enough older cartridges to get to 3,000 points (points are 30, 50 and 100.) since that would be a lot more to buy. Which I can't do anyway.
So just wondering if anyone else has points just sitting around.

I gave up using the Rewards site. They locked me out and they can't even get me back in. I am not the only one. My geek suspicion is when they moved a lot of things over to the new servers I don't think Rewards program was moved correctly or they decided just to keep it on the old server and it's corrupted. Anybody get anything Cricut for Mother's Day or crafting? My gifts were all game related. Trust me I think this was better, lol. The colors of Cricut. I admit I bought a Cricut just because of the color one time. That was my beautiful aqua Expressions. I loved that machine to pieces. It is about in pieces now, poor thing. I bought the Peach Explore because it is Peach. I was upgrading to a new machine at the time but I wanted a pretty color. I fell in love with the pretty blue Explore at Michael's. I am afraid I would be tempted by a lilac Explore. Yes, I fit that target audience. I didn't think the audience was that big. PC is inflating their numbers. I do understand what OntarioScrapper is eluding to about Cricut keeping Design Space online for advertising revenue. I am not happy about it at all. I would give up colors to have offline software. I do understand Cricut's reasoning now to keep it online. How many time did I hint that I would pay a fee for offline software? I know I can't be the only one. I just wish Cricut would look at all the options for their consumer base. I do truly understand they can only do so much within their bounds of where the company and investors feel comfortable. Some of this is common sense reasoning and I feel like Cricut really avoids that like the plague.

I got a heat press for applying the heat transfer vinyl (HTV) on t-shirts and other clothing items. I use my electronic cutters as much for cutting vinyl as for paper. Up to now, I have used very little HTV, because to iron it on by hand was a pain. As for machine colors, I bought the Cricut Explore Air 2 at Michael's last fall partly because of the color. I was drooling over the new machine and had been thinking about buying it for awhile, but that beautiful blue totally nudged me over the edge into an implulse buy. I am glad I got it, though. I love that it cuts things which my Cameo can't, although I will mostly be cutting leather with it.
