My top two are Magnolia and Fargo. Magnolia, I pulled a book out of my backpack and read it in the movie theater (I was with a bunch of people and couldn't just leave like I desperately wanted to). Fargo was not my cup of tea. Everyone swore it was THE BEST MOVIE EVER and it just wasn't. Blech.

Vanilla Sky DS recommended it. Last time I listened to him for a movie review. Silver Linings Playbook Watched it last night on Netflix and was underwhelmed. Best actress? No way.

Napoleon Dynamite...I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. At least I had a choice with ND. I was stuck on a tour bus, with the boy's marching band, and someone chose to play Nacho Libre. As much as I hated Dead Pool, if I had to choose between ND and DP, I would choose Dead Pool. I will never watch that one again, unless I am being held captive on a tour bus. The first time I saw Napoleon Dynamite, I hated it for about the first 20 minutes. Then I realized the movie wasn't what I thought it was and I started to enjoy it and now it is one of my favorite movies!
I also hated Nacho Libre.
Vote for Pedro! Tina come and eat dinner, GAH!

What is your all time biggest dud movie. You know the one that disappointed you the most or that you just hated. For me it was Titanic. I'm with you. Titanic. Second place: Forrest Gump.

Most recently..."My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2"! I loved the first one and while I wasn't expecting the 2nd one to be as good I didn't think it would be as awful as it was!! I had to make myself watch the entire thing and then only because of John Corbett. It's already come and gone???

Wild Wild West
Loved the video and song Will Smith did. The movie was so awful, Smith later apologized for it.
Does anyone else miss Big Willy Weekend aka July 4 blockbuster weekend? It seemed he always had something big come out on that weekend. We were usually at the cottage we rented during that time and the grands would watch the kids and the parents would go see Will Smith's new movie. I haven't seen anything of his in years.

Some were already mentioned upthread (Forrest Gump, Fargo, Bridesmaids, Frozen and Mamma Mia).
Also:
Brooklyn - I really wanted to love this movie as I adore Saoirse Ronan, but I was really disappointed with it. It wasn't bad, per say, but it wasn't good. Room - Another movie I expected to love but was just okay.

Hands down, it would have to be The Purple Rose of Cairo for me....and my poor girlfriend! We saw it when we were teenagers and she wanted to leave. I kept telling her it would get better. Nope! It never did! My husband and I refer to it when we talk about bad movies and he has never seen it! LOL!

The English Patient, hands down. I was so excited to see it but it was just totally excruciating and I was like Elaine in that Seinfeld episode "...just die already!!!" I kept waiting for the good part, but then the movie was over and I realized there was no good part.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Water World! OMG, that shitshow. It was like the most expensive movie ever made at the time, and it was super impressed with itself. Kevin Costner was exceptionally terrible, and the whole movie felt like it would never end.

Ditto! I refuse to watch anything with Jim Carrey in it after I took my then 9yo BIL to see The Mask in 1994. I hated it SO MUCH. I am just about at the point where I am going to add Will Ferrell to the do-not-watch list, especially after Anchorman 2.

My dh likes to attend somewhat obscure movies. The most recent one that we saw was The Lobster. Absolutely one of the most awful movies I have ever seen.

The Notebook
Hated that movie. DH let me choose the movie one year on our anniversary. At the end of the movie, I apologized for making him sit through such an awful movie. I just don't get the love for it.

I am just about at the point where I am going to add Will Ferrell to the do-not-watch list, especially after Anchorman 2. If I go into it knowing it's going to be a dumb humor type of movie I can tolerate Will Ferrell (but The Other Guys does seriously make me laugh) but Anchorman 2 was beyond terrible. I couldn't get up and leave like I wanted to do bec DH and I were with another couple. The three of them were enjoying it, I hated every minute. Gah! I rented Silver Linings Playbook and turned it off after a few minutes. It was horrible! I demand you watch Stranger Than Fiction. I think Will Ferrell is excellent in it. I enjoyed Stranger Than Fiction also. It's not a dumb humor type movie that is his norm. SaveSave

Open Water. I've never wanted a shark to just kill someone and get it over with so badly. OMG I hated this movie with a passion... but could not stop watching it.We watched it on TV exH wanted to watch it and didnt he went to bed and I watched every miserable moment. For me it was Magnolia. I don't think I have seen a Tom Cruise movie since. It was horrible. I stood up at one point and said more loudly than I intended. That is it. This is the stupidest piece of BS I have ever sat threw I am done! Two women followed me out of the theatre and we all went and had a drink while our husbands stayed. ( I didn't know them!) I also hated AI. The great thing about being single is I don't watch things I don't want to. I think I would have hated Avatar!

Flowers in the Attic (not the one that was recently remade, but back in the 80s)
I LOVED that series and couldn't wait for the movie. Literally five minutes into the movie I knew it was a bomb. It was SO horrible. I never got over it. The TV movie, although cheesy was much better, even though it was eh. I always thought it would make a wonderful movie but just didn't happen, TV or a regular movie.

After reading comments I have to add this:
I WILL NOT WATCH ANY Quentin Tarantino movies. Tried to watch Pulp Fiction and lasted about 5 minutes.. HATED it. I hate the episodes of Alias when he was a guest star on the show, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE...
Oh yeah and Dead Pool... I thought that was about the stupid movie ever. DD was so excited when we sat down to watch.. I almost killed her for liking it. WHO DID I RAISE?? lol...

The Fifth Element. The first, and only time my husband and I ever walked out during a movie. Horrible. Ugh. I'll easily sit on that bench with you! I swear, every time that stupid movie is on tv DH will want to watch it and I find myself wanting to poke out my own eyes so I won't have to sit through it yet again.
