Thank you! We are home from the transfer. Everything went smoothly and there were no issues with my husband being in the room with his cold. Here is our little girl's first photo. Absolutely amazing. Fingers crossed. One day far far in the future I'll be getting grand babies his way. My daughter does not want to chance passing on a genetic fault. She says Ivf after gene selection will be the only way.

Sending you my bestest stickiest good thoughts! ETA: I just noticed the update and saw the photo of your girl - she's such a gorgeous blob!! She is a pretty little blob, isn't she!! At first I was a little mystified, since I was expecting a more circular shape. They explained to me that since she has already fully hatched out of her shell, she is no longer constrained to a round shape and can stretch out a bit. Plus--people aren't round, so that makes sense. She was graded 6AA, which means she is very advanced for her age =). 4AA is technically perfect--5AA means they have started to hatch, and 6AA means they have fully hatched. At 5 days of age, they don't need to have even started the hatching process at all. I'll have Mensa's contact info on standby.......

SO excited for you!!!
(and keep those socks!!! Someday they will be a keepsake) Oh, I've already tucked them away, along with the ID bracelet from the procedure. I'll break the socks out again if we go for a second pregnancy (my sister is in the early stage process of donating eggs), but don't plan to wear them other than that. I have a collection of things saved to show the baby once she is grown. A lot of them are related to my cancer (to explain why her parents had her so late, and to plant the idea that cancer is not always as scary as it sounds, since there is a very, very high likelihood that she will develop breast or ovarian cancer during her lifetime), like a photobook of me from diagnosis through growing hair back and ID bands from chemo, some of my hats and my wig, etc. I am keeping all my needles/syringes/medication vials, etc and will totally copy an idea I saw online with all the detritus of IVF laid out in a heart shape. I'll put my embryo picture and an ultrasound picture in the middle. I'll wait to do this, because I am doing shots every day for the next 10 weeks, plus a second shot every 3rd day, so I'll have lots of syringes and vials to add to this. (on a side note, my kitty has been on SQ fluids for over 5 years now for kidney failure, and I still have all the used (capped) needles from that. They are stored in gatorade bottles and just need to be disposed of, but for some reason I have been holding on to them. I am now thinking of taking a photo of them with 'this is love' written in script with those supplies once my kitty passes on, along with a picture of him and his brother (who died a few years ago after HE needed SQ fluids for kidney failure for 4 years). I have given him fluids 5 days a week, so that is about 1400 needles so far!)

Did you have PGD (?) testing so that you know it's a girl?? (I think that's what it is called) Love the picture Yes, we did both PGS testing (looking for chromosome issues--this is where we learned the gender), and PGD (looking for my BRCA mutation, so we could choose an embryo that did NOT have my mutation). We ended up with a single embryo that was chromosomally normal, and we transferred her knowing that she DOES have a BRCA mutation. My heart is at peace about that because I know we did everything humanly possible to prevent passing the mutation on. It is either this girl or no biological child for me. Holy shit, we're supposed to be happy about your pregnancy? How fucking selfish of you to implant an embryo that if born, has an 85% chance of getting breast cancer! You might as well chop off her breasts as soon as they are developed. The amount of well-wishers on this thread is disgusting. "It's either this girl or no biological child for me" I think if there is a God, he was trying to tell you that you shouldn't have a biological child. And yet here we go. I wish your DD the best. You, not so much. ETA: oops. My bad. It's an 88% chance. I just read your other thread on this issue. You had all sorts of testing done to "weed out" the embryos with genetic issues. When this was the last embryo left, you said fuck it. You said you will build the family that you want to have. You and your husband and your doctors are so fucking irresponsible. This is on the level of Octomom. It's truly mind-boggling that anyone thinks this is a good idea. But hey, I never thought anyone would vote for Trump either.

Man, you are an epic bitch! While I agree, I also believe she posts stuff like today's screed because she enjoys the reactions. It feeds something in her. Let's let her go hungry today.
