No Outlander as series, no Claire as best actress, no David Tennant from Jessica Jones as best actor. So disappointed.

I noticed there was no mention of Outlander in the list of nominees I saw and I am really surprised.

Yep... no outlander. I stopped watching all the award shows years ago. They have become irrelevant to me.

Actually, I've liked some of the Emmy surprises. Jerry Seinfeld's show is hilarious! Congrats also to Laurie Metcalfe for multiple nods.

I just wish they still separated cable and network TV. Network TV just can't compete with what cable is given. Veep is just extraordinary. I hear GoT is as well. But network TV has a lot of things going for it.
There are over 400 scripted TV shows each year. I'm tired of the same old people winning.

Thrilled that Thomas Middleditch was nominated for "Silicon Valley." His is such subtle and amusing acting - the kind that usually doesn't get noticed. He's not flashy - just very real and funny. So glad he got a nod.

I find it so frustrating that almost all the drama nominations are from cable or online shows. While there are good shows and I do love House of Cards, did they really need to do 3 nominations for that one show in a single category?
Doing 20-23 episodes of a show for a network where you have limitations on what you can do and say is very different from doing 12 or 15 episodes (and some don't do that many) on cable. I don't think network and cable should be in the same categories. Or at least shows with so few episodes like Sherlock from PBS (which wasn't nominated this year because I'm not sure they even did a season at all) are considered series. They have seasons with only 3 episodes. That's not a series. It's a miniseries.
Also Modern Family may still be funny but it isn't nearly as good as it used to be. What about The Middle? Eden Sher is always fantastic and never gets a nomination? Allison Janey is great on Mom but she isn't the only one who is. The Emmy voters are stuck on certain people and certain shows. It's boring and doesn't recognize a lot of the talent.

I keep hearing how great Veep is and I guess I should give it a try. But I truly think Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is one of the most over-rated actresses ever. She plays the same person in ever series she gets and she never brings any likability to her characters.

We love The Middle too our favorite comedy and they never get any recognition for award shows and I feel the same about Criminal Minds (esp. Dr. Spencer Reid).

I was happy to see nominations for Ellie Kemper and Lily Tomlin as well as Ellie's co-star Titus Burgess.

It's called Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. He picks up a friend and they drive around and chat. It streams on Crackle, and I think you can find it online.

I agree about The Middle, though the dad and daughter were nominated for one of the award shows last year.
Disappointed about Outlander's actors. They are up for costume and sets (?)
I don't see why almost every actor on GoT is nominated. The actress with the dragons didn't do much. Why is she nominated?

I am another who feel Cable and Network should be separate categories. The Big Bang theory is still hilarious and the writing SO clever. They were snubbed last year and again this year. Modern family has been nominated every year and it BAFFLES me. I don't find that show remotely funny. I think the acting is ok and I really love Jesse Tyler Ferguson but it's not Emmy worthy ever single year. The Middle is much funnier and so is BBT.
Jim Parsons is a comedic genius and should be nominated. I find the Emmys are now geared towards the big money making channels now. IT's so unfair.
And I 1000% agree with this:
I never got the hype for her on Seinfeld or in her show Christine whatever....she is just herself in every show!!! It's maddening. Same as Ty Burrell. He's so overrated it's not funny....literally.

I don't see why almost every actor on GoT is nominated. The actress with the dragons didn't do much. Why is she nominated? Totally agree. Emilia Clarke who plays Daenerys Targaryen didn't do much of anything at all-in my opinion her acting is terrible. I cannot believe she was nominated for an Emmy and Caitronia Balfe who plays Claire Fraser on Outlander wasn't-especially for the episode when she gives birth to Faith and holds her dead daughter in her arms! Emilia Clarke couldn't act that well if her life depended on it! The actors who play Sam and Black Jack, and so many more were snubbed completely (like the cinematography), and what about the man (I can't remember his name right now) who writes the music for Outlander? It's amazing! There is so much that is so extraordinary about that show! They filmed for 11 months to give us season 2 and they get completely snubbed by the Emmys except for costume and sets, and once again Game of Thrones sweeps them all up. I give up, and have in the past couple of years thought it was rigged somehow. Don't know how exactly, people say it's political-I don't know. I've just given up on it. Hope the cast and crew doesn't take it too hard. Debbie in MD.

Very disappointed that there weren't any acting nominations for Outlander. A million times this. Did they not see the episode "Faith"? OMG it was superb acting on Caitriona Balfe's part. AMAZING.

I was thrilled to see Tatiana Maslany nominated, as well as Veep, Sillicon Valley, Fargo, Luther and GoT. I would have loved to see Outlander, The Walking Dead, Daredevil and Jessica Jones get acting nominations but I didn't expect them to. I didn't think Modern Family or House of Cards had strong seasons so I was surprised to see them do well.

On the other hand Caitriona Balfe made me cry buckets in that scene, and has been impressive overall through two seasons of Outlander. So disappointing.

Allison Janey is great on Mom but she isn't the only one who is. The Emmy voters are stuck on certain people and certain shows. It's boring and doesn't recognize a lot of the talent. See, I don't even think Allison Janey is that great! There are more deserving. And I definitely agree on the certain shows!

I won't be watching because I don't subscribe to the premium cable channels. A lot of HBO and Showtime shows were nominated. I'm glad there's good reviews of Outlander. I didn't like the first book.

I don't watch award shows of any kind. I watch what I like and don't care if they win awards or are snubbed. It's all politics, as far as I'm concerned. I don't know how the actors can put themselves through that agony every year. They work hard as it is, and then have to go and be judged for their work? I just don't agree with any of it.

I don't pay much attention to awards. While it's nice for the cast and crew to get the awards, they mean nothing to me in terms of what's good and what's not.

Modern Family did do one thing this season that they needed to do and that was to have more vignettes with each individual family rather than the characters being mixed together like they put names in a hat and drew out a few to be together in a scene. It makes much more sense for a household to have scenes together than for Gloria to go out somewhere with her brother-in-law.

The Claire I was referring to is the character on Outlander. I couldn't recall how to spell the name of the actress and didn't want to butcher it.
