My little pot has been busy this week, I've just not had a chance to post. I made the Coq Au Vin from here on Tuesday. I was afraid I wasn't going to like it because I don't like wine. It was divine!! Now, I used boneless skinless chicken breasts because that's what the recipe called for. I found it to be very dry. But there were two quick releases in the procedure. Would it have been better had I done NPR? I almost did, but decided to go as written. Last night I did the Bolignese recipe and the family did not like it. It did turn out a little bland and I'm not sure why. And it was a bit greasy. The hamburger meats fault on that. If I try it again I'm going to degrease the pot before the pressure part. In between the meals I made yogurt again. It really is easier than I thought it was going to be. I had it this AM with the lemon curd and it was SO good. elaine: Thank you so much for enabling us with the Instant Pot. I wish they would send you a free pot or something really nice. You have sold a bunch for them!

You have sold a bunch for them! Yogurt really is embarrassingly simple! Almost everyone that I've talked into making it has been surprised at how easy it is, and most never go back unless it is an emergency. I'm sorry the bolognese didn't turn out well! That recipe has always worked for me - like you said, draining might help. Feel free to try adding extra spice to it - garlic, maybe a pinch of cayenne, Italian seasoning blend, etc. You know your family's tastes, so add what you guys like!

Joining the cult. Let me know if there is a secret handshake. I have to get our meal planning under control. Thanks for enabling me! The only handshake we have is the willingness to just jump in feet first, and don't be afraid to try different things! There is a learning curve because it is truly a different way of cooking things. But, most people get the hang of it quickly and are able to start adapting their favorite recipes to the IP.
