She's sewing (herself!) and selling Pointe shoe bags to help pay for next summers training. Her shop is called Betty Bunhead! lol She's got her first 6 bags up and asked me to pass around the link. Thanks for humoring me, ladies. I'm really proud of her for taking the reigns and following through on this.

How wonderful for her! I'm sure if she's paid attention to your sewing, the bags will be wonderful and she will most likely find a way to add to her line. Good for her for being willing to do the work to earn some of these (expensive) extras. What a great work ethic. Find something you love to do and find a way to earn money doing it.
Good luck to her!

Those look great and are very reasonably priced. I hope her shop is very successful! I'm quite impressed with the zippers - I still have problems putting them in!

Very nice. I might order a couple for dd. And I had to laugh at the last line of her description: "Pointe shoes and supplies not included." I always laugh when I see these things on products in stores. As if you could really buy a bag, plus pointe shoes and supplies for $13.00??? Don't we wish? oy. That amount barely pays for ribbons and elastics for the shoes. I know manufacturers have to put this disclaimer on things though, because no one thinks anymore. Or else they'd sue for not getting what was advertised. sheesh. Anyway, cute bag. And I won't expect any pointe shoes in mine.

Those look fantastic! I love that she's taking the initiative to raise the cost of her training. I will send my dancer friends her way.

How cute... Looks like it might work for my daughters jazz shoes for musical theatre.
I would love to see a picture of the whole bag.

Cute bags. I'm not a dance mom but I could see a lot of uses for a bag like that for myself. Good luck to her!

those are really cute bags! I'm surprised she is selling them for so cheap for all the sewing and different types of materials involved. if I had a need for something like that, I would expect to pay $15-$20 because they are so cute, functional and handcrafted. good luck to you daughter! I wish her lots and lots of sales. I've been on etsy for almost 7 years and it's been a blast.
ETA: I did a quick search of the other pointe bags on etsy and your daughter's is by far the cutest ones that I've seen! so much more detail and functionality.

Does $13.50 net enough profit after the cost of materials? Or are you helping her with this by supplying some of the materials? It's a very nice product.

Do the bags fit other types of shoes as well? I ballroom dance in high heeled shoes and this bag with the mesh would be great because they can get STINKY and this would let the air flow around them better.

Adorable! Very smart of her to list Canadian shipping. I'll show my DD, as those would fit Irish shoes too I imagine.

I'll put a little bug in her ear to maybe offer some that are a little bigger for other types of shoes. She's done all the math on the cost for each for bag and her numbers are sound. It helps that I work for a fabric store, so she gets my discount. ;-).
